This course has allowed me many opportunities to grow as an educator. The MAED Program did an excellent job with providing opportunities to explore and implement knew learnings needed in the 21st Century classroom. Assignments touched base on differentiation, instructional design, assessments; Action research and technology enriched learning environments to name a few. The final course Capstone focused one redesigning previous lesson plans, projects to address the 21st Century skills and demonstrate the mastery of the learning outcomes. PLO 5 Dynamic Curriculums and Instruction in the 21st Century would be considered important as teachers are constantly learning new skills to implement Common Core Standards, technology and the 21st Century Skills within the classroom as it is important to ensure students achieve these standards to be prepared for life skills and the constant change within the world. The 21st Century Learning teaches critical thinking and problem-solving skills that prepare students to be autonomous in every aspect of the student's life.
PLO 7 Content Knowledge is important as it places a major emphasis on subject matters and concepts to develop technology enhanced learning environment’s that will encourage achievement and innovation (Ashford University, 2014). Technology is a constant change and it has made its way into the schools, homes, and work environment’s, while replacing jobs and tasks that once were completed hands on.
By utilizing the flipped classroom model, the teacher is integrating technology into the classroom by assigning at-home learning assignments with technology in mind. This encourages diverse learners as they control the at-home material and are offered more guided learning within the classroom.
