o you remember the first time you broke your arm or leg? Or have had a brother or sister broke a bone? It was cold outside. With just a few inches of snow on the ground to go sledding. So my step sisters and I were bored and thought it would be fun to go sledding. So we grabbed three sleds and headed outside, to a hill we have in the back yard. Then because the hill the the back yard got boring, we went to the front yard and pulled each other around on the sleds. As Justine and I were jumping on sleds and I jumped onto the sled and I fell to the ground. Justine asked “Are you ok?” and I said “No!” Then I tried to stand up but, I couldn’t. Then I sat up for a little while then I tried to stand up again and I couldn’t move my whole leg or it would hurt. So then Jacie ran inside and told my dad that I fell on the sled and I couldn’t stand up. Next my came outside and he …show more content…
Then we went to the doctor's office and my aunt was working there so she came and sat by us in the waiting room and went to the doctor's appointment with us. Then the nurse came in and observed the x-ray and said I broke and tiba and my growth plate. And found out the people at St.Mary's were wrong and I did break my growth plate when they told me that I didn’t. Then the doctor came in and said that she had to move my ankle to the way it was before I broke it then the doctor tried to move it but she couldn’t so she said that I had to get put to sleep and might have to do surgery on it. Then she put on my cast. Then I went to the hospital and got in my room and got an i.v. put in and I had to wait about 5 hours then she could the surgery. Then I got put to sleep and she moved my ankle and the right way. Then I woke up at about 11:00 at night then I went back to my room and then watched a movie and fell asleep and got to go home the next morning. I had to keep my cast on for 3 months and got it of in
After wait for a few minutes they called my name and we walked me down the hall and to the X-Ray room. They made me take off my boot and stand on this weird X-Ray and I had to set my foot on this weird square. I was really scared because I didn't want it to be broke again or worse. They took me back into the waiting room when the doctor came in and had the X-Rays. He said the my foot
Oh yeah I almost forgot. The amputated leg, how is that going for you. You know if you're just too tired of walking around mostly on one leg, well just get a wheelchair so it is easier to get around. Or if you don't want to sit around all day, then get a cane so you can still walk around but still have support. Lastly wear it proud like a man. Don't be afraid to go out and show it off. You are a veteran. People should not hate on you are make fun of
I dribbled the ball down the narrow hallway looked at Anthony defending the small net. He had a frustrated look on his face and I slowly walked towards him. I bolted to Anthony’s left and tried to get past him but crshhh the wall behind me collapsed as my body went flying through it. “owwww” I moaned as I felt my head throbbing with pain. I slowly stood up and murmured, “What was that for dude? We were just playing a friendly match of hockey.” I turned around and saw the gaping hole in the wall that my head went flying into.”My mom is going to kill me,” I said out of breath. As I looked at the damage
Kneeling on the frozen snow nor feeling nor knowing what is beneath me?…. my cells are no longer responding… My body is shivering, begging me to stop…….My hands are pale as if my blood has frozen, barely moving, barely thinking, barely conscious. My glim of hope vanishing as I realise I won’t survive in this vast of white snow… Lost the sense of direction. How many days have I travelled? Believing in a glim that goes nowhere. Am I going insane? Not knowing the date nor the time nor someone to talk to but only myself. Only if my friend was here… What am I talking about his already dead. How did he die ? I can’t remember well? We were walking nearby a river hoping if we follow the current it may lead us to people,I heard a splash I turned my back and he was into the cold water, I helped him to get up but his foot got stuck into a puddle pulling his head under the water, he was struggling I tried to pull him towards me but I was too exhausted, as he was drowning I saw his face expression it gave me a
Next, they put me in a different room upstairs to take some x-rays, they figured out that I had 2 fractures (so practically broken!) They put an enormous cast on my arm that went all the way down to my elbow and I had to wear that for 2 weeks or something like that. After a while of having it on, my arm got numb and I couldn’t feel my hand! When we got traveled back after the 2 weeks they gave me another cast. The difference was that it was smaller and only went down to my wrist also my 2 fingers (pinky and ring) were at a 90 degree angle. They told me “Wear that one for another
When I was in eighth grade I sprained my right ankle over spring break.I was at my grandma’s celebrating Easter and was playing with my cousins. I ran to grab a ball that had been kicked out of the area we were playing in and as I was running, my foot got caught in a hole and I tripped and fell. I tried to get up, but as soon as I put weight on my ankle, I fell back down. My cousin,Payton, and my younger sister, Tosha, had to help me get on our fourwheeler and drive me back to my grandma’s. They helped me get into the house and onto the couch. Then my dad and my grandma had me put ice packs on my ankle and had me try to stand on
It all started freshman year when I was playing football. It was the worst day of my sports career that I have ever experienced in my life. It was the first play in my high school football career and it was a punt. I ran down the field and made the tackle. As I was making the tackle someone hit my elbow and they broke it. I went to the hospital and they put me in a cast for four weeks. After the four weeks were over the doctor took my cast off and said everything was fine. The rest of the year it felt good. Then the next
It was not long before I went to the doctors and got an x-ray confirming my foot was broken. The doctor told me I would have to wear a boot and crutches for six weeks. I giggled as I was always curious how it is to be in one of those cool boots. I miscalculated this small crack and chip on the x-ray and figured I will be alright. To be honest, I was relieved since my
Ryder’s class. So, then I realized that My laptop was in my room. So I opened the door slowly and want to my table and grab my MacBook. Then when I was coming back I fell down on the floor. “Boom”!! Immediately my parents came upstairs like they were going to go run a race, and like they were going to win. They saw my door opened. My sister came to my room with her phone, and says” should i call the doctor, or should I call 911, or wait should I go get your phone and call the doctor”. “Go get my phone, and call the doctor as quick as possible” dad reply after hearing my sister Brooklyn talk a
When we got there my parents were in the lobby my mom crying in my dad's lap. We hurried to the x-ray room. When we got there they put me to sleep for I would not struggle. When I woke up I had my parents in the room and a cast on my leg. My mom came up to me and said, “Your leg, it’s broken”
When the next round came around we all tried to find a good spot to go and hide or find cover. We had about 30 seconds to start the fight I took the sneaky approach again but this time I got impatient. And ran when someone found me but I ran to fast and I tripped on a curb and twisted my ankle when I tripped I started crying but I didn't feel anything. Because of the adrenaline I had from the fight and running. That is why I didn’t feel anything, but I at the time I didn’t know what was wrong and why I couldn’t get up. When I fell my brother and my friends ran over to me and kind of gathered around me, so my brother asked me why am I crying and what happened to me. I said to him that I ran and tripped over a curb. He
I was thirteen, and I had just come home from a school softball game. My friend Dalton had invited my sister and I to come and swim at the neighborhood pond. My sister stayed home, but I got permission to go. After a while of swimming, Dalton looks at me claims that he’ll jump out of a tree near the bank if I jump out. Of course, I accepted my friend’s little dare and climbed into the tree, focusing on the seven-foot-deep drop-off off of the bank. Regrettably, I didn’t jump far enough. My right leg landed in the drop-off, but my left leg hit the clay, which caused all of my weight to shift to my left foot. I felt an immense pain in my ankle and started screaming while crawling over to the bank as Dalton ran to get my mom. After I finally made it to the emergency room, I found that I had broken my fibula at an upward slant, which caused the upper part of the bone to slam down into my ankle.I had completely blown out every ligament and tendon on the left side of my ankle. I had to have a plate and four screws implanted into my fibula along with the surgical repair of all of my ligaments and tendons. The entire ordeal left me extremely interested in the human body, and this interest was heightened when I had to get my appendix removed a few months later and again when I took Anatomy and
It was my third winter, and I and was wrapped up in snow gear worse then little Randy from ‘A Christmas Story’. I was finally allowed to go out and slide with the big boys, so of course my mom is not going to hold back, on putting as many layers on me as possible. After hours of waddling up and down the hill in my stiff snow suit. My mom calls out to us that we have one more slide down and then its time to go. To save time we decide to just slide down the driveway. So the boys: My brother Nick, and my cousin Malachi. Loaded me into my sled and start to count down for one big last push down. Three, Two, One.
I was walking back from lunch with my friend Matt, we were telling each other jokes about dead babies. I looked over and saw my little brother, I turned to Matt and said “watch this” then I ran up to my brother and tried to do a jumping high five. He didn’t think I was trying to high five him he thought I was trying to hit him. Out of instinct he pushed me away and I fell backwards, I landed and pivoted on the ball of my left foot. I thought I had gotten away safe and clear, I went to take a step and BAM! I had been tripped by my own untied shoelace, betrayed by my own apparel. I fell backwards and expected to hit lockers, unfortunately it wasn’t lockers or even a door. I had crashed into the glass display case, oh the utter humility. I hit the ground and leaned up on one arm, I was fine, not a scratch. Mrs. Wright come running up in total mom mode “ Oh my God, are you alright, AHH, don’t move!”.
When we woke up Megan left around eight in the morning and Jadynn came back and we went out for more sledding. The worst part was when it was just Leena and I, we were on the side of the road and there was a mailbox coming up. I did not hear Lorrissa holler back at Leena and I to duck down, but Leena did. I ended up smashing the back of my head into the mailbox, I was in too much of a shock to cry. I had known that I hit my head but I didn’t really feel the discomfort of the strike.
