Leukaemia
What is cancer?
Cancer occurs when in the body abnormal cells starts growing rapidly and gets out-of-control. Usually, normal cells grow, divide into more cells and die in the end. When people are at their early ages of life, the normal cells divides more quickly until we start growing into adults. Later, the cells in most parts of the body splits only when a replacement is needed to the worn-out or dying cells and or to repair injuries. Cancer cells are different from normal cells, because normal cells replace old cells. Whereas, cancer cells only grow and divides themselves rapidly. These cancer cells do not die and instead they outlive the normal cells and continuously form new abnormal cells. When there has been some damage

This particular cancer produces abnormal blood cells in the bone marrow. The abnormal blood cells begins to divide and grow rapidly, ending up crowding out the normal blood cells. Later, it becomes very difficult for the body to fight infection, controlling bleeding, and transport oxygen. Leukaemia cells accumulates very rapidly in the blood and bone marrow. It is detected by bone marrow test, cells and chromosomes analysis and various other tests. It is sometimes caused by exposure to radiation or chemicals that damage the DNA, which is the hereditary material of the cell. Brain tumours are very rare in adults and are most common in childhood leukaemia. Different survivors may have a harder time recouping, changing in accordance with life after malignancy, and proceeding onward. It's ordinary to have some nervousness or other enthusiastic responses after treatment, yet feeling excessively stressed, discouraged, or furious can influence numerous parts of a youngster's development. It can hinder connections, school, work, and different parts of life. With backing from family, companions, different survivors, psychological well-being experts, and others, numerous individuals who have survived tumor can flourish disregarding the difficulties they've needed to confront. (American cancer society) Website . The cost for treatment on leukaemia is $51,000 per case, when people see the cost they do get worried and stressed, this is when the families go through financial problems. Some patients are covered with the hospital, medicine and surgery is then around $2000. Some people have more surgery if its required which costs around
A cancer cell is formed when the cell’s DNA is damaged but not repaired. Instead of the cell dying, like a normal cell, it reproduces new cells which also have the damaged DNA that the original cell had. Factors that can cause a cell to be damaged are mistakes during the reproduction of the cell, environmental reasons, such as smoking or too much sun exposure. The cancer cells form tumors which then invade the tissue of a certain body part, like the breast, lungs, brain, or prostate. Cancer can spread sometimes from body part to body part, but is named from where it starts. For instance, if somebody were to be diagnosed with breast cancer, and developed cancer in their lungs, it would be metastatic lung cancer. Metastasis is how cancer can spread to other body
Cancer is a disease that affects human somatic cells. It causes the cells to divide uncontrollably and form masses known as tumors. There are two different
Leukemia is cancer in the bone marrow and the lymphatic system and affect the body's blood-forming tissues. Leukemia usually involves white blood cells. Your white blood cells fight off infections. People with leukemia, the bone marrow produces abnormal white blood cells, which don't function properly. Scientists don't understand the exact causes of leukemia. It is believed to develop from a combination of genetic and environmental factors. In general, leukemia is thought to occur when blood cells acquire mutations in their DNA. The CD34 phenotype. Certain abnormalities
Cancer starts with the normal cells in our bodies. Normal cells divide in processes called Mitosis and Meiosis which is how our bodies grow, heal and repair and when cells become old or are damaged, they die and new cells are created. However, when this cell division process goes wrong the cells become abnormal. Cell abnormalities occur when the cell makes errors whilst copying the genes. As the cell becomes more abnormal, the old and damaged cells do not die when they are supposed to but the new cells, that are supposed to go in place of the dead cells, are still produced. The extra cells divide uncontrollably which is how a tumour is formed.
There are a wide variety of cancer types. They all have several things in common, however. Each cancer starts with cells that become abnormal or cancerous. These cells reproduce and form a mass of cancerous cells. This mass is called a tumor. When the cancerous cells spread, or metastasize, they can impact other tissues, organs, and systems of the body. A second commonality among cancers is that when they are detected early, they are easier to treat and the treatments are more likely to work. In many cases, a cancer that is caught early can be completely destroyed.
There are many differences and similarities between normal and cancer cells. G1 occurs at the beginning of the cell cycle, the cell is at the smallest size but it starts growing. Normal cells grow till it’s big enough but cancer cells keep growing even after it’s big enough. Their communication is also different because the cancer cells don’t communicate, so they don’t know when to stop. When something goes wrong normal cells either get repaired or they die; while cancer cells do neither. One protein called P53 has the job of checking to see if the cell is too damaged to repair and if it is, it advises the cell to kill
Cancer is a series of linked diseases. In all forms of cancer the body’s cells begin to divide numerous times, never stopping, all while destroying the body’s tissue. Normally, in the body cells grow and divide to replace old or damaged cells, but when Cancer develops old and poor conditioned cells live when the cells are supposed to be dying, and the new cells start to form when they’re not needed. The excessive cells that are dividing can keep on dividing and form masses that are called tumors. A tumor is an abnormal growth of tissue that can either be benign or malignant, if its malignant it means that its cancerous and if its benign its non-cancerous (National Cancer Institute
Leukemia most common treatments are: Chemotherapy, Radiation therapy, and Bone marrow transplantation, and then there is also Biological therapy. In chemotherapy, patients take one or more anticancer drugs by mouth or, intravenously through IV therapy. In some cases, doctors need to inject the drugs directly into the fluid that surrounds the brain and spinal cord. Chemo can cause side effects, like losing your hair, nausea, fatigue, or easy bruising, depending on the drug. The side effects usually go away progressively between treatments or after treatments stop.
first of all, I will start with this sentence (Cancer is a scary word almost everyone knows someone who got very sick or died from cancer). And then I will say what is cancer? Cancer is actually a group of many related diseases that all have to do with cells. Cells are the very small units that make up all living things, including the human body. There are billions of cells in each person's body. Cancer happens when cells that are not normal grow and spread very fast. Normal body cells grow and then they stop growing, over time they also die. But the cancer cells just continue to grow out of control and don't die when they're supposed to.
Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) is a cancer that primarily found in the blood and bone marrow. Because this cancer progresses slower than other types of leukemia it is referred to as chronic. This type of cancer affect the white blood cell that is known as the lymphocyte. The white blood cells that are affected help to protect the body by fighting off infection. Lymphocytes are made in the center of the bone also known as bone marrow. The lymphocytes that are produced in these patients are produced at abnormal rates and do not function correctly. Older adults are the most prone then others to getting this type of leukemia. This cancer is slow acting and it could take years before symptoms appear. People who receive treatment may live longer than those who choose not to treat it. Other types of people who are more likely to get this type are those with a family history, a Caucasian male, or if you have relatives that are either Eastern European or Russian Jew.
By definition, a cancer is a disease that is characterized by “controlled growth and spread of abnormal cells,” (Laini, online). According to Laino, cancer forms when there is a growth of abnormal cells. The abnormal cells also known as the cancer cells grow and forms a tumor in which will began to attack nearby body tissues and organs. Depending upon the various types of cancer, the cancer cells attacks different tissues and organs. As the tumor spreads, some
The disease disrupts the normal balance of the cells in his blood ultimately making it an issue for his body to operate properly. Tiredness is one of the symptoms that can be displayed. I would witness him running or doing a physical activity during PT and gradually see a decrease in his output not knowing exactly why. It can affect the body in a multitude of ways and normally doesn’t provide any symptoms upfront. It usually starts in the bone marrow but can move into the blood fairly quick and spread to other organs within the body. He had early symptoms that could be classified as general symptoms which include things like feeling tired or weak, shortness of breath, fever, and infections that won’t go away. Swelling in the abdomen can be a very concerning issue, as it may possibly have spread to the liver and spleen. His lymph nodes will eventually enlarge maybe during the time testing is being conducted until they conclude what specific type of leukemia he has. Something he experienced a lot for the past month is joint pain. He had complained several times about his hips hurting extremely bad causing excruciating pain while running which he and I both felt was kind of awkward. The biggest symptom that he had which made medical personnel extremely concerned was his difficulty breathing with no history of asthma in his family. That prompted blood work immediately to further
Cancer is a disease that can change the life of a person no matter their age or nationality. Cancer can range from being life threatening to a low risk of death. Cancer cells are cells that do not follow the regular cell growth and division pattern. They go through cell division and produce rapidly. Cancer cells differ from regulating cells in the body because normal cells eventually die. Cancer cells, on the other hand, do not die when they should causing it to be very hard to cure cancer in your body.
Jack woke up one morning not feeling well. He felt very weak and could not get out of bed. His mother decided to take him to the doctors. The doctors took many tests to figure out what was making him feel that way. After about an hour or two the doctors got the results back from a blood test. Results that would change Jack’s childhood for the worse. Jack has been diagnosed with Leukemia, a blood cancer. Of course, Jack was not sure what that meant but, his parents became worried beyond belief with the long road ahead of them. Scientists and researchers were all involved in the discovery of Leukemia cancer, which increased knowledge of this cancer, decreased deaths and discovered treatments, and started charity groups to fund research.
Cancer is a kids of diseases which is the cells divided abnormal and uncountable. That cells can invade to other tissues of human’s body through blood and lymph systems.( MediLexicon International) Cancer is the general term of that disease, actually is not just one disease. There are more than a hundred different types of cancer. Those kids of diseases are most orinage by the organ.
