The biggest adventure you can take is to live the life of your dreams. (Oprah Winfrey) Following dream is described as the biggest and hardest adventure, and if people work hard, they can reach the dream. But is it really the truth?People can take the first twenty years of life to chase dream, however, life if limited, people should do what they need to do at certain age. When people get to 30 years old, having steady jobs is more important than following dream.
People always say that hard working makes people success and there are always examples of how some people reverse their destinies and become successful. In the book The Alchemist, Santiago, a young boy follows his passion and find his treasure. During Santiago’s journey, he encounters difficulties, danger and challenges. But he never gives up, so as expected, he is successful. In reality, Harrison Ford did not start his career until his thirties. J.K. Rowling started writing novels at the age of 31, and now is the most famous female writer. And Ang Lee, who was a jobless house husband, but started being a director when he was 31. All the inspirational stories teach people that people need to have dream, it is never too late and if people work hard enough, he will reach his dream. However, these stories do not tell people how much they need to sacrifice and how little chance they become successful.
People in their 30s should not follow dreams because there is no time. The normal retirement age in the United States is 65 years old, which means, after the year of 65, people cannot really do much. And normally, people start working after college which is about 22 to 24 years old. So there is only 43 years left. 43 years is almost half of a person’s life, so there is no time for people to waste. And not only one’s own time, as well as his family and friends. When people step in the age of 30, or even earlier, they start to form their own families. And start to take more responsibilities. Being married and then having children takes a lot of time and attention. Most people need to go home right after their works are done, because family is the core of everything. In common, people get children at the age of 25.2, therefore, when a person is 30, his/her
Successful people become motivated by something, that keeps them going when things get tough. Malcom X wanted to improve his writing, Lupe Quintanilla wanted to learn English, and I am motivated to receive a higher education. Drive, that is what all of these individuals have in common. Something in our lives lead us down the path to better our education it was a tough road but being motivated kept us going.
For example, in the novel, autobiography, “The Glass Castle”, Jeannette is a little girl whom managed to overcome the hardships of her life. When she was three-years-old, she got herself burned due to the fact that her parents were making cook her own hot dogs; therefore, she learned that she wasn’t supposed to play with fire. At high school, her didn’t have any money to buy food nor to buy the supplies she required at her school, and whenever they did have money, Jeannette’s father would spend it all on liquor and her mom would spend on unnecessary things such as sculptures. Consequently, always living with the constant fear of knowing that she could end up like her parents, she decided to move to New York along with her siblings and started working at a newspaper company. Eventually, she studied at an university and ended up writing this novel; in addition, she wanted to share her experiences in order to inspire and encourage other people. Her message is clear, it doesn’t matter how hopeless your current state might seem, if you are will to succeed, you will definitely be able to achieve
“Don't aim for success if you want it; just do what you love and believe in, and it will come naturally.” – famous comedian and writer, David Frost. The claim “It’s Not about You” written by David Brooks states that modern society has a prodigious advantage compared to previous generations when it comes to finding jobs and different styles of living after graduating from college. Of course Not only that, but young people today are exposed to several amounts of teachings and disciplines that are furnished by the elderly, in order to avoid the mistakes they made and fix the economic crisis they provoked. To finish off the argument, Frost gives the reader insight on why some people are more successful in life than others, by telling us that the path of success isn’t finding yourself and then following your dream, success is about finding what you want to do and then accomplishing what you want to do as an aid for society.
When you succeed you need to faliure and successful person will tell you that they had failed, but those failures are what made them successful.People with success can lead to other success, this is shown with many people around the world in many different industries. This is mainly shown by the music industries, like other artist shout out or make song with unknown or not well know artist. They had overcome many obstacles an example is school, family problems, and negatively of review of loves ones and friends. One example of this is shown filmmaker Cole bennett’s,his failure can be instructive by teaching or helping others to become more successful than even him.
Aspirations of success often drive individuals toward success. However if one only focuses on their dreams and not on working to achieve their goals, they will not be successful. Charles Dickens and John Steinbeck in their respective novels Great Expectations and Of Mice and Men, use their main characters failures in manifesting their aspirations to warn about the dangers of aspiring about the future and not focusing on success in the present.
Wanting for dreams to come true don’t do that themselves, it depends on what choices we do and don’t make that help us strive towards our longings. Unless, we are all controlled by fate, playing out the part in our lives that had been pre-organized for us. The unit selections Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer, a biographical novel, and Macbeth by William Shakespeare, a drama, both focus on things we can and can 't control in our lives, but Into the Wild does a better job answering the question in the prompt because rules are meant to be broken, Chris McCandless just took it to the next level. He was able to leave his life behind, making decisions most of us couldn 't even imagine making. He sets an example of what we can achieve in life. We
Having the desire to be successful is one thing but without the doing the little things you will never get there. Successful people are committed to doing something every single day. Regardless of what is going on in their lives they work on their craft. They overcome the daily battle between procrastination and motivation. Every day, most people have a list of things they want to do; need to do; or should do; and what they don’t want to do. It’s these daily choices that are influenced by our discipline and
One article with a story was “Boor Poor and Smart.” The author is Angela Locke, a writer for a journal that fights for feminism, off our backs [sic]. In most of the article, the author tells about how she was born into poverty and how her mother fought to get out of it. Her mother was not successful, but the author believes it is possible to get out of poverty and is very optimistic about her future. After that, the author tells us what her mother did right and what she did wrong. Thus, why she didn’t become successful. A quote from the article is, “Success is not only living by the values that you believe in, but being in some was recognized in the world for those values. Success is not is not only discovering your talents and your interests, but being able to make a living using them”
But the reality of life is that success does not come from pure luck, status, or
In this age in which we live, success is generally measured by the amount of money you earn, or the amount of wealth or power or number of promotions you’ve accumulated. I find that the older I grow, the more I view the people who are most happy and content with their lives as the most successful. Rich, poor or in between, they’ve tended to treat life as a journey, not a final destination. They took that trip when they were 25 even though they really couldn’t afford it, they ordered the $55 bottle of wine with their filet because they knew that even though it was expensive it would enhance the meal so much more than water would. They took a chance on a start-up company, moved to Europe or Asia and experienced things that most people only dream about. If they managed to grow wealthy from the experience, so much the better. As long as moderation with most things is practiced, things won’t spin out of control.
Growing up as kids we are always told by our parents or loved ones to have dreams and set goals for ourselves; never let anything stop us from reaching those dreams. Whether it be becoming a doctor, lawyer, scientist or even an actor/actress. Though many of us already know, we can set as many goals for ourselves and have the biggest dreams one can imagine, but nothing comes easy in this world. Take Denzel Washington, one of the biggest actors in Hollywood today, if you go back thirty years and ask him if he thinks he would win not one but two Oscars he would probably say no. Although he set goals for himself and made his dream come true with help from the mentorship and guidance of the Boys and Girls Club of America, he knew it was necessary to have goals in mind that could be achieved. He was determined, dedicated, and persistent. He made me realize it is necessary to have a positive attitude and work without dedication is dead.
In addition, there are many examples of successful people. Gabby Douglas started gymnastics around the age of eight, and while she faced very many obstacles, she was still successful. Donald Trump was billions of dollars in debt, but worked hard and is now the largest real estate developer in New York. Zendaya Coleman was shy when she was younger, but is now a triple
Charlie Parker once said, "If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn." I feel he meant that if you don't pursue your dreams then they would
The self-made man is often portrayed as a story of rags to riches. A person who overcomes any obstacle thrown at him/her and defies all odds. These stories incite a reaction in readers, often leaving them in awe. How can a person become so successful, even though the universe is seemingly against them? The truth Malcolm Gladwell uncovered in his novel “Outliers” is the people at the top of the ladder did not have everything stacked against them. Gladwell says that there is no such concept as a self-made man. Successful people have been helped along the way by a variety of reasons, such as how wealthy their family was, to their birth month. While I feel that there is no such thing as a self-made man because circumstance and motivation are a key factor in how successful one becomes, I feel as if a person’s luck has a lot to deal with them thriving in their career.
An adventure can range on how much of a drastic change it has on your life. Starting from the bottom to the top is a goal that most people aspire. No one wants to be stuck in a job for the rest of their lives where there not going to be happy with what they are doing. In most cases you just think of kids’ right out of high school going to college to make something of themselves but in some other cases its older young adults and older adults that want to take the risk of going back to school to better themselves. There is no age limit on dreaming for what you want and for example most college students are taking the adventure of going to school and reaching their future ideal profession. If people didn’t have the motivation to aspire to be better we wouldn’t have doctors, lawyers, and fire fighters in our world. The world is filled with many people that just need to push to have adventure in their lives; people should not settle and be stuck in a job where they have to hate not only their jobs but sometimes their own lives. Our own parents for many people are living examples of people that want better lives for us they are the ones that show us that if we don’t make something of our lives we will regret it. Change will not come to us but we have to go after change. Taking an adventure in life is something you have to do
