Having goals in life is important because it provides a sense of direction for where you intend to go with your life. Growing up, my parents made it very clear that they didn’t expect me to even graduate high school so I was left on my own to create my own goals and push myself to completing them. My short term goals ranged from completing my mental health recovery to graduating high school. During this time, I was also able to make long term goals that have helped me to understand where I want to go with my life. My short term and long term goals are the driving factors in my life.
I work as a Certified Peer Counselor (CPC) for Quality Behavioral Health. Basically, that means that my job is to support my client in completing goals that they set for themselves. CPCs are a relatively new aspect to Social Work on this side of the mountains so I am learning more about my position as frequently as my job is. My goal has been to attend as many trainings as I can so that I know as much as possible about my position. I really enjoy going to trainings because it’s always interesting to hear stories from people

I was a child who suffered from abuse all across the board and had some mental health problems and I would have never made it to where I am today without the Social Workers who invested their time into my recovery. But to become a Social Worker and give back to the community, I need to complete my education. To me that looks like a 3.0 GPA and taking any advantage I can in learning from my peers and professors. Until this last Spring, I have struggled with attending school and grades better than a C. Since I have come back to school though I have been excelling immensely in my classes and my GPA is slowly but surely making its way up to a 3.0. I intend to keep my grades up and to monopolize my time in school to achieve the best education that I
On a personal level I would like to get better at basketball as well as baseball. In three years i see myself being a little bit more involved in technology and graphic design. Sooner or later like every kid I will turn 18 wich mean time for a job i'm going to go into it strong I think i am going to work at Old Navy. I hopefully will be able to stay in this job as long as possible to make as much money as I can. These goals are important to me because it will make me feel good as a person. It is a good start as a teen to make money. School has prepared me because I will pick the right classes to assist me in my career.
Whether we like to believe it goals play an important part in our lives. They keep us on track with what we want to accomplish in life. Some of my biggest goals were made as a child and others where just by surprise. However now I have much different goals set for myself. I have three main goals that can be separated into a personal, professional, and academic area. A personal goal is to become a great runner and roll model. A professional goal of mine is to become a nurse to help others in need and finally, my academic goal is to get a 3.5 GPA and graduate college. All these goals can be accomplished with hard work and dedication just like any other goal in life. We all want to strive for the best and sometimes we need smaller goals to help
To have a goal enables a person to do his/her best in whatever they set out to accomplish. Achieving academic excellence in high school has given me a love of learning. This desire for more knowledge propels me towards a college education that will prepare me to do my best in my future. Having the perseverance to become healthier has inspired me to work toward being a dietician. I have chosen this career goal because an increasing number of people in our country are struggling with obesity. In addition to these goals of a higher education and a career path, I would like to be a mother and raise my own family. Family is very important to me because I believe that family has a major influence on one’s personality. Without the influence of my family, I would not be who I am today.
A goal is a target you want to achieve in your life. They are important for many reasons. The purpose of a goal is to motivate yourself and it gives you directions and keeps you forward. Having goals in your life gives a clarity on your end vision, and allows you to focus . The goals help you achieve your highest potential. They make you stretch beyond your normal self and reach new heights. Also if the goal doesn’t challenge you, it won’t be able to change you.
What is the importance of goals? Do goals help you plan out your future? Or possibly give you something to work for? To me goals provide a map of what I want to do, how I’m going to do it, and why I want to do it. Goals also provide a sense of accomplishment when you finally get to finish whatever you’ve been working towards. The need for goals in life is clear, because without goals, we wouldn’t get much done. Simply because of the fact that there wouldn’t be anything to work towards, and no structure to our future. One of my most important goals is to graduate college, to get a career in psychology. This goal is extremely important to me because of the fact that not many people in my family have even finished high school.
My second goal specifically is to get a position in the human resources department with my current employer within the next six months. Gaining a position in the human resources department puts me one step closer to achieving my long-term goal of becoming a human resource manager. The goal is measurable because I plan to apply to any position I see posted in the human resources department that interest me and align with my professional goals. The goal is attainable because I have access to our job postings website and I plan to check this website for updates at least twice per week. This is a reasonable goal because I sometimes have downtime at work, which would allow me to use that time to search for new postings and even apply. This goal is time-bound because I gave myself a deadline of six months to achieve it. With my updated resume, experience and now my current course of study at Western Governors University, it makes me a desirable candidate for a position in HR.
As a prospective Biology major and Veterinarian, I hope to gain experience working with plants and animals in the field of Biology and consider internships with veterinarians. I plan to put my experience and qualifications to use by applying for an accredited veterinary college. Upon acceptance, I will strive towards earning a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (DVM). If I do not gain acceptance into a veterinary medicine program, then I will steer myself more towards the forensic science fields. A degree and certification in veterinary medicine is appealing and preferable to me. However, to keep my options open, the field of forensic science and crime scene investigations will serve as

As a graduate student I would like to expand my knowledge and my discovery of the health
My short term goals in education are to maintain my high cumulative GPA and complete all of my general education classes, so I can graduate from community college with honors, in spring of 2016. Career wise, I want to complete my low division classes and prerequisites to be able to transfer to a university in the next year, where I can pursue my bachelor's degree in computer engineering. My short term goals for service/volunteerism is to continue participating in school clubs at Mesa college where I participate in the majority of their service events. I also want to continue my leadership position as President in Phi Theta Kappa and serve the Honors club and any other school club with anything I am capable of.

Provide examples from any aspect of your life. In addition, if you have already accomplished some short or long-term goals you set for yourself in the past, you can discuss them
Goals are a great way to plan your future, what you want to do or be when you grow up, if you want to go to college and what college, and how you would get there and accomplish these goals from where you are right now.

Setting goals is the most important thing you can do in your life. Without goal's you are going to have no direction, no ambition to be successful, no drive to stay in school, and trouble finding a career that will provide for you. Without these three things, achieving your goals is going to be one of the toughest tasks in the years to come.
It was established that without goals, we can’t achieve anything. Goals are necessary for short and long term, along with having a plan to achieve these goals. Short term goals of mine include earning A’s and B’s. I can do this by going to class every day, making a study schedule, taking good notes, and keeping up with assignments. A longer term goal I have for myself is to graduate from college. I can do this by completing the required classes in my major and minors and meeting all degree requirements. Another long term goal I
