Just as no two snowflakes look the same that fall from the sky – love probably has a slightly different look or meaning to each individual person. For me, love is something I’ve decided to do, something we should all receive, and something to give. Love is a deep desire to inflict joy and affection onto others, especially the ones people hold an emotional value with. I believe that all emotions derive from love or a lack of love. At a young age, I was taught that there are three different stages of love Eros love, Philos love, and Agape love.
The first stage of love is called Eros love. This is more of an outward type of love, a physical attraction. Eros love is also considered to be a selfish love because it’s all about oneself – for example, it’s a desire I have, that makes ME happy, and something I want. During this stage, people “fall in love” based on appearance, intelligence, and a sexual desire they have for the other person. Sadly, many people tend to confuse Eros love with true love. Holding on to a belief that they’re in love with this perfect person, when in reality they only acknowledge how they physically feel about the person, not being together long enough to know the other person’s inner self. Eventually, when someone stops feeling those happy feelings, they believe that they have “fallen out of love”. This shows what a deceiver this ideology of “falling in love” is. This type of selfish thinking can create a cloud of darkness that stirs up dangerous
Through life, people experience many kinds of love. Many people often believe they love someone, when they actually do not because they may not know what the word means. As much as we want to understand love, it is still simply indescribable. As C.S. Lewis tries to explain it in his book, The Four Loves, it is still a mystery as to what love truly means. I believe in order to know what love means, one must experience it. It is quite true that went two individuals are in love with each other, they know it and can feel it. No matter how much love is studied and looked at, every individual must experience it to understand it. Along with this love lies circumstances which lead
In general, love is having intense feelings or deep affection for someone or something. Normally when we think about love, we think about relationships, but that isn’t all that love is. For example, people across the world can love a sports team or even a television show. Love can have a variety of meanings because of this, which causes many different interpretations of the true meaning of the emotion.
Have you ever felt the feeling of butterflies in your stomach or heard the phrase “my heart skipped a beat for you”? As children, we grew up learning from our elders and experiencing new beginnings in life. Much of our knowledge has been brought upon by what we see and hear, rather of what we know. Many important decisions we make in our life has to do with what our feelings show us. Love is an important matter in our life because it motivates us in different ways. Love can be shown through emotions or even through actions. What is a valuable definition of love? A brief definition of love can be said to be a variety of different feelings or attitudes that ranges from interpersonal affection to pleasure. In other words, to me love is when
Love is a variety of different emotional and mental states, typically strongly and positively experienced, that ranges from deepest interpersonal affection to simple pleasure. This value is precious amongst all humans, it is what makes or breaks us. Not only does love remind us of a time that was relevant or memorable,
By definition; love is a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person. Love can be interrupted in many ways. Were we ever taught love or is it just a natural feeling towards a person? Some say you'll know the meaning of love when you fall in love, yet some don't believe in love at all.
What is love? How is love express? Where can I find it? All in all, it is obvious to distinguish that love is the essential emotion of human every time and everywhere. Some people may confuse about that, however, it is an arduous job to describe it due to the diversity. Some people believe love likes delicate and charming roses, which makes you stand and appreciate for the admiration. Some people approximates the bright light of the lighthouse, which illuminates the backing way of the sailing people. Some people confirm love equals
What is love? Love is can be consider as emotion or feeling to pleasure or affection. Sometimes people choose our own partner or chosen by our family. Love can be also conducted by destiny, when both peers don’t know why they attracted to one another. When a person loves someone just for a day, or not feeling that they will be together forever, we can consider it as a lust. Love stories are dominant in our generation as people might have experienced different kinds of love in their lives. In Love in time of Cholera, “Why I Live at the PO” and “A Rose for Emily” are the example of love stories, which the flow of the story is about the protagonist’s problems. Lust can be considers as the main reason of conflict in most relationship. Love is complicated and comes in differente forms, can be chosen, destine or lust. Sometimes, loves can create conflict with everyone.
Love comes in numerous ways and can be expressed in countless fashions. Love is powerful, has a meaning, and is capable of eclipsing time all due to the human psyche. One can love anything from a family member, to a fictional character in a TV show, or even an inanimate object. The fluidity of love is what makes it so difficult to understand if one is “in love” or has ever experienced love. Experiences often mold a person’s perspective on what love truly is. Love is not an emotion, but rather a condition of the mind that cause one to act in ways that are uncharacteristic. It can be blinding, obsessive, and pure, depending on the reciprocation of the love. Since love is an abstract concept, one simply cannot measure how much love they have received or given alike. Although the human brain can perceive and interpret other’s actions or words as signs of love and care, in which the mind processes this into the mental psyche that is love.
Love is a force that inspires us to feel more, do more, and sometimes sacrifice for the object of our attention. Poems, music, relationships are all written in the name of love. There are six kinds of love, according to the ancient Greeks:
Love is said to be one of the most desired things in life. People long for it, search for it, and crave it. It can come in the form of partners, friends, or just simply family. To some, love is something of a necessity in life, where some would rather turn a cold shoulder to it. Love can be the mixture of passion, need, lust, loyalty, and blood. Love can be extraordinary and breathtaking. Love being held so high can also be dangerous. Love can drive people to numerous mad things with it dangerously so full of craze and passion.
Love is an expression of emotion. Love, it is said, can make you walk miles barefoot in the rain just to see the person you can't stop thinking about. Or, it can make you cross the street because the store "you love" is located there. Love is a versatile word — like what it describes. Love takes many forms, but the word typically describes an affection that is deep and emotional.
Unlike Eros love that is solely based on a strong emotion and only being shown the good quality of each person, Philos love is based on a “give and take” where two people benefit mutually in varies way from each other. Being giving and taking equally is important in this type of love, and the concern that each partner is benefiting is essential to each partner. It can be statement in truth that Philos love is a higher type of love then Eros, where love is not just based on a strong emotion experienced before the understanding and appreciation of both partners that is gained from the pervious and continuing friendship.
Love has many different meanings to different people. For a child, love is what he or she feels for his mommy and daddy. To teenage boy, love is what he should feel for his girlfriend of the moment, only because she says she loves him. But as we get older and "wiser," love becomes more and more confusing. Along with poets and philosophers, people have been trying to answer that age-old question for centuries: What is love?
I never understood what people meant when they’d say “there’s a fine line between love and hate”. I was taught love was “good” and hate was “bad”. Someone even tried to convince me that hate doesn’t exist. But just like “good” and “bad”, one cannot exist without the other. I have asked myself countless times how two words, or better yet feelings, that are supposed to be antonyms, opposites, are so similar.
Love is difficult to define, difficult to measure, and difficult to understand. Love is what great writers write about, great singers sing about, and great philosophers ponder. Love is a powerful emotion, for which there is no wrong definition, for it suits each and every person differently. Whether love is between family, friends, or lovers, it is an overwhelming emotion that can be experienced in many different ways.
