Just as no two snowflakes look the same that fall from the sky – love probably has a slightly different look or meaning to each individual person. For me, love is something I’ve decided to do, something we should all receive, and something to give. Love is a deep desire to inflict joy and affection onto others, especially the ones people hold an emotional value with. I believe that all emotions derive from love or a lack of love. At a young age, I was taught that there are three different stages of love Eros love, Philos love, and Agape love.
The first stage of love is called Eros love. This is more of an outward type of love, a physical attraction. Eros love is also considered to be a selfish love because it’s all about oneself – for example, it’s a desire I have, that makes ME happy, and something I want. During this stage, people “fall in love” based on appearance, intelligence, and a sexual desire they have for the other person. Sadly, many people tend to confuse Eros love with true love. Holding on to a belief that they’re in love with this perfect person, when in reality they only acknowledge how they physically feel about the person, not being together long enough to know the other person’s inner self. Eventually, when someone stops feeling those happy feelings, they believe that they have “fallen out of love”. This shows what a deceiver this ideology of “falling in love” is. This type of selfish thinking can create a cloud of darkness that stirs up dangerous
