Lust can lead to extreme decisions. In the case of William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, their
decisions lead to their own death. Although many people could be blamed for the demise of Romeo and
Juliet, they are solely responsible for their deaths.
Romeo and Juliet are two teens from a rival family. Romeo Montague is a 15 year old teen who craves
the attention of women, while Juliet Capulet is a 13 year old girl who lacks attention from her family,
practically raised by the nurse. Romeo, who is use to getting women with the snap of his fingers, is upset
when Rosaline will not sleep with him. Benvolio, Romeo’s cousin insists Romeo go to the Capulet party
to show him there are other women besides Rosaline. At the party, Romeo catches

Romeo, not wanting to leave her follows their shadow from the windows
all the way to her bedroom, where they confesse what they believe is love to each other. Romeo quickly
decided they should be married, and he goes to see Friar Lawrence, who agrees to marry the young
couple. What they believe is love, quickly turns into irrational decision making and problems, that lead
into the deaths of Romeo and Juliet.
Others may strongly believe that others like the Nurse may be to blame for the demise of Romeo and
Juliet, but what she did was only to keep Juliet happy. Several blame the nurse, claiming that she was
the one that kept the two lovers in touch and that if it wasnt for her they wouldn't have continued to
see each other.
The nurse viewed Juliet as her own daughter, she only wanted her happy. In the text, the Nurse states
"Well, sir, my mistress is the sweetest Lady.Lord,Lord! When 'twas a little prating thing -- O, there is a
nobleman in town, one Paris, that would fain lay knife aboard; but she, good soul, had as lief see a toad,
a very toad, as see him. I anger her sometimes and tell her that Paris is a proper man, but I'll

The
nurse is proving her maternal love for Juliet, she wants to protect her from any harm, just like any
mother to her child. She kept Romeo and Juliet in communication because its what Juliet wanted. She
didn't want to disappoint her “daughter” and take away what she saw as her only happiness. So the
nurse complied, she helped Juliet communicate with her lover, going as far as keeping the marriage of
the couple a secret from everyone. None of the actions that she takes though, lead to the demise of
Romeo and Juliet. Juliet could have easily cut communication with Romeo if she would have
acknowledged that it would cause problems to be in such a risky relationship.
Due to the highly lustful relationship believed by many to be love, Romeo and Juliets actions and
decisions lead to an extreme event. They commit suicide because they believe they love each other after
only very few days. They are to be blamed for their demise and should be taken fully accounted for the
incident. Romeo and Juliet are responsible for their own deaths because of the actions that lead to
The nurse's key capacity inside the play is to go aboutas a go-between for Romeo and Juliet and is the maincharacter other than Minister Laurence to know about their wedding. The nurse, in spite of being a worker in the Capulet family unit, has a part comparable to that of Juliet's mom and views Juliet as her own particular girl. The nurse's association with Juliet centers consideration around Juliet's age. In Juliet's first scene, the nurse over and over affirms that Juliet has not yet had her fourteenth birthday celebration. As opposed to Juliet's childhood, the nurse is old and appreciates grumbling about her a throbbing painfulness. Juliet's dissatisfaction at relying upon the nurse as her courier is utilized to comic impact in Act II, Scene 5 when Juliet is compelled to tune in to the nurse's ailments while attempting to coax from her thenews of her wedding designs: The nurse, as Mercutio, loves to talk finally. She frequently rehashes herself, and her indelicate references to the sexual part of affection set the optimistic love of Romeo and Juliet separated from
with Romeo. The Nurse was supposed to be one of Juliet's best friends. Now when it was
The nurse is very loyal to Juliet as shown in the past quote. The nurse is taking a chance at talking to Romeo for she knows that he is of the house of Montague and god knows the penalty for the interaction between.
In Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, the Nurse, by her thoughtless support of the affair between the lovers and fickle counsel, is partly to blame for the tragedy. However, it is not one factor alone that brings about the death of Romeo and Juliet, but a combination of significant actions and underlying forces.
They tell eachother everything. Most importantly, they can trust one another. Juliet turns to the Nurse for every problem she has. She depends on the Nurse to be there for her, especially in times of struggles and her love life. Throughout her love story with Romeo, the Nurse plays a very active role in Juliet’s life. We see the Nurse helping her to sneak away with Romeo but on the other side, we see the Nurse telling Juliet to obey her family orders, which relates back to the conflict between a parent figure and child.
In the opening lines of Act 1 Scene 3, it is implied that there is a stronger bond between Juliet and the Nurse than Juliet and her own mother, from the fact that Lady Capulet calls on the Nurse and asks ‘Nurse, where’s my daughter?’ From this we can understand that Lady Capulet relies on the Nurse to tell her where Juliet is, and is an ineffectual mother. This emphasises that mothers were distant from their children during Elizabethan times, and gives the impression that mothers had more important things to do than bring up their daughters. The Nurse provides a humorous anecdote from Juliet’s childhood, remembering how she fell over on her face, and how her husband had commented ‘Thou wilt fall backward when
The first bad decision Romeo makes is choosing to go to the Capulet party, and the fact that he’s a Montague does not deter him and his friends from going. At first it seems as though Benvolio is forcing Romeo
It was a shock to Juliet that she didn’t support as before. The nurse played as an important role to her, however it wasn’t how Juliet was expected it was going to happen. Juliet was left on her own to make some very important decisions at the age of 15. I believe that if the Nurse had been around to help Juliet things may have turned out differently. Strangely, she advised Juliet to forget about Romeo and marry Paris, betraying Juliet’s trust by advocating a false marriage: “I think it best you married with the County. O, he’s a lovely gentleman. Romeo’s a dish clout to him”(3.5.218). Juliet can’t believe that the Nurse offers such a course of action after the Nurse praised Romeo and helped bring the couple together. She could not have gone to Lady Capulet or Lord Capulet, because they would not have understood.
Again the Nurse’s fantastic ability to be incredibly insensitive shines through in this scene. Being close to Juliet, she should realise that Juliet’s feelings and emotions would be akin to a roller coaster ride at this point in time, and that Juliet needs support and stability. Instead, the Nurse
The nurse has a love for Juliet as if she was her own and you can tell this by the way she knows things her mother does not. For example her age.
The Nurse is a good friend of Juliet´s and also played a big role in raising her. The nurse wanted the best for juliet and for her to be happy therefore, she encouraged her to get married. ¨Is your man secret? Did you ne'er hear say, Two may keep counsel, putting one away..¨(2.4, 185) This showed how the nurse knew how dangerous it was for the people to find out they were married yet, she still allowed the marriage and told them to betray their parents and keep it secret. The nurse also sent Romeo letters for Juliet to keep them in contact. ¨There stays a husband to make you a wife. Now comes the wanton blood up in your cheeks.¨(2.5). This shows that the nurse had talked to romeo. Although, Friar is the one who brought the idea of
The Nurse, a woman who is supposed to help guide Juliet on the right path, yet mistakenly confuses Juliet’s needs with her father’s wants. Although the Nurse does not realize it, the attempt at provoking Juliet to marry Paris could have further convinced Juliet that she did not want to live with her family any longer, and ask Friar Lawrence for help, which is important because this resulted in her death (Act

Recently after he news of his banishment, the Nurse tells stressed Juliet that she thinks it is “best [Juliet marry] with the County” because “Romeo’s a dishclout to him” (3.5.10). Who's side is the Nurse on? It seems she wants what will raise Juliet’s social status, now putting down Romeo, which would reflect nicely on her, since she raised Juliet. She also says that “Romeo is banished, and all the world to nothing that he dares ne’er come back to challenge you” (3.5.10). She is convincing Juliet their love is not worth the trouble of getting back together. The Nurse obviously does not really support Romeo and Juliet’s relationship, and she added to the stress of Juliet about the marriage to
