MDIHS is a the primary high school serving AOS 91, which is located in rural Hancock County. Unlike many surrounding districts, the communities served by AOS (alternative organizational structure) have joined “for the purpose of providing administrative services”, including, but not limited to “a superintendent, special education administration, transportation administration, and business functions” (Maine Department of Education, 2015, p.1). Provided this structure each community maintains its own budget, and school board, therefore, in many regards allowing the schools system to be modeled after local traditions (Maine Department of Education, 2015, p.1). Mrs. Alice McLoughlin-Doro is a Special Education teacher at Downers Grove South High School in Downers Grove, Illinois. The community is known for its excellent school districts. According to the 2010 census there were 47, 833 people living in Downers Grove with approximately 19,000 households and 13,000 families. The racial makeup of the school was reported to be 88% White, 3% African American, 5% Hispanic, 0.2% American Indian or Alaskan Native, 5% Asian, and 1.6% from two or more races. About 1.7% of families were below the poverty line. The school district report card reports the following racial/ethnic background for the school: 68.1% White, 10.3 African American, 11% Hispanic, 7.3% Asian, 0.2% American Indian, and 3.2% two or more races. The elementary schools, middle schools, and high school all perform very well academically receiving above state average scores on standardized tests. She has been working there for 10 years and is currently a Case Manager of 17 students, all with an IEP, all with different needs and goals in the LD department. She co-teaches two general education classes in English intervention, all freshman. Although she is a Special Education teacher, she works with all the students. She also teaches a READ 180, Tier 3 reading and english intervention. This is where we will be focusing on for this
Medomak Valley High School, located in Waldoboro, ME, is the only high school in Maine School Administrative District #40 and serves students from Friendship, Waldoboro, Warren, Washington, and Union in midcoast Maine. For decades, the school district had two middle schools - A.D. Gray Middle School, which served students from Friendship and Waldoboro, and D.R. Gaul Middle School, which served students from Warren, Washington, and Union. In the fall of 2008, the year I started at Medomak Valley High School, the district opened Medomak Middle School to serve all seventh and eighth grade students in the district and closed A.D. Each organization must have a structure of the authority defined and distributed to help in the organization of the tasks and functions with the aim of achieving the objectives of the organization. An organization structure offers details of the formal structure of the authority in the organization. It is essential to study the organization structure of the organization in order to understand the functioning of the organization. This paper examines the organization structure of the nursing department in Kingston Centre hospital. The paper will look at the nursing and the nursing service management department in the hospital (Burke, 2013). The hospital is selected because I have been able to interact with the facility many times. I have been able to work in this department hence I understand the organization structure and the services offered in the department.
A major strength of Ennis ISD is the low dropout rate of its students. In seventh and eighth grade, Ennis ISD had an average dropout rate of zero percent as compared to the state average of 0.4 percent. The difference in dropout rate is more readily seen in the seen in high school. The Ennis ISD high school dropout rate of 0.7 percent is much better than the state average of 2.4 percent. This data substantiates that Ennis ISD exceeds at keeping its students enrolled from elementary to high school, despite the large percentage of economically disadvantaged students and English Language Learners.
Stephen L. Ondra, MD is the Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC). HCSC is the parent company of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois, Texas, Oklahoma New Mexico, and Montana. It is the fourth largest health insurer in the nation and is the nation’s largest not for profit mutual health insurer. In his role, Dr. Ondra is responsible for the strategy and oversight of medical policies, medical management, pharmacy, quality improvement and performance measurement programs. He also serves as a key national spokesperson for the company and health policy advocate for policyholders. The City and County of Denver as a whole runs under a traditional organization structure. I work for the City Attorney’s Office or CAO as it is often referred. Our organization used to fall under the traditional structure, however, that recently changed when they re-evaluated the efficiency in which our department was ran. Now we fall under a horizontal organization structure which is comprised of a team, network, and boundaryless structures, “Boundaryless structures eliminate internal and external boundaries (Schermerhorn Jr., J.R. and Bachrach, D.G., 2015, p. 253). It creates teamwork and communication, making information sharing continuous. When we switched to this structure it created a stronger, cohesive team that worked together towards
MBDO Brown is a hard working, dependable officer who fosters public trust through her positive demeanor and interactions with all stakeholders, peers and TSA staff. Brown recognizes, understands and actively supports TSAs goal of professionalism. MBDO Brown has served as a POC for the BDA program which has often put him as the primary liaison for the BDA- BDO program to external agencies. MBDO Brown in multiple occasions has been the face of the program for the PM shift, ensuring coverage when available and also answering questions from newer TSA members on what we do and how we do it.
