She has the ability to adapt to time periods and remain relevant. While doing so, Madonna is not only the Pop Queen but she is also a fashion Icon. The Guinness book of World records lists her as the most successful artist of all time. She not only set trends but breaks barriers. She has more top charting billboard charts as she holds the throne as the most successful female artist of all time. Madonna also has successfully racked up a total of thirty seven top ten hits on the billboard charts as well as seven number one albums. This song thrived in dance clubs and became one of her fans and critics favorite track. Written by Reggie Lucas, Borderline shocks fans considering that its racy lyrics are written by a man. According to “songfacts.com” “Lucas hasn't discussed the specific inspiration for the song, but many fans speculated that the lyrics are about having an orgasm.” This gives us a great insight as to why fans view it shocking that a man wrote this sexually explicit track. T.S. Madonna’s pop song “Lucky Star” was released August 1984 and became Madonna’s first top five single. According to top40about.com, “The accompanying video caused a stir by showing Madonna writhing on the floor and showing off her belly button.” Madonna clearly challenges status Quo with the visuals for this video. This song becomes top five in a sequence of 16 successive top five songs. T.S. “Like a Virgin” was released as an album title single from her second solo album. According to “top40.about.com”, "Like a Virgin" became a signature song of sorts for Madonna as it topped the pop singles chart, becoming her first #1 hit, and spent six weeks there.” Madonna caught a great deal of this of success from this track. She established a firm foundation for this song by actually performing on top of a cake at the MTV awards in 1984.
