Mahatma Gandhi's Influence Gandhi was a leader because he left an impact on the world without bloodshed. Some of his accomplishments are spending 20 years protecting the rights of South African immigrants, becoming the leader of the Indian National Congress, and winning back India’s independence. A stamp was made in his honor Mahatma Gandhi's Leadership Gandhi was mostly, if not all, positive. He is thought of as a peace-maker because violence was not his answer. He only used powerful, influential actions without the use for violence. Osama Bin Laden was the head of Al- Qaeda. In response to the terrorist attacks, the USA launched war. They invaded Afghanistan to fight the Taliban, who supported members of Al-Qaeda. Something this huge in American history gives Osama Bin Laden a lot of credence for being a leader. Osama Bin Laden was mostly negative because 9/11 was one of the most devastating days in United States history. Over 2,000 people died that day because of Osama Bin Laden. He had extreme hatred for Americans, our culture and capitalism. Violent and nonviolent methods were used by these two
Mahatma Gandhi changed India’s history forever through disobedience. Even though he disobeyed the law he had a good reason to. India was under the British rule and the people were doing as british were telling them to do because they had no other option. Gandhi was the one who didn’t do as the british said, but instead stood against it because he knew that what they were doing was unfair. As he have said, “A man who was completely innocent, offered himself as a sacrifice for the good of others, including his enemies, and became the ransom of the world. It was a perfect act”. He disobeyed the british laws to free
There have been many influential figures throughout the course of history. Many have had the same beliefs and many have had different beliefs. The means by which the influential figures have tried to demonstrate their beliefs have also been very different. Two perfect examples of historically influential figures who have shown different ways to express their beliefs are Mohandas Gandhi and Osama Bin Laden. Mohandas Gandhi expressed his beliefs in a peaceful non-violent way and on the other hand, Osama Bin laden was cruel and violent expressing his ideas.
Mahatma Gandhi pioneered the philosophy and practice of nonviolence. On the vast subcontinent of India he led a colonial people to freedom through Satyagraha, defeating what was at the time the greatest empire on earth, the
Many people believe that Osama had no impact on the world but he did. September 11,
When one thinks of Mahatma Gandhi and Osama bin Laden, they might think of two people who would be considered polar opposites. By just scratching the surface of the history of these two historical figures, it may appear that they are completely different from each other. But, digging deeper shows that Mahatma and Osama have more in common than anyone could have imagined. Both Gandhi and bin Laden inspired people to follow them in their movements against their opposition and were powerful enough to be noticed worldwide. Their early adult lives both contained incidents of rejection and failure that shaped them into the people that they became. However, many people believe these two were very contrasting in their methods of protest, one violent and the other peaceful. Despite popular belief, Gandhi and bin Laden are more alike than most people realize.
Aroused by the massacre of Amritsar in 1919, Gandhi devoted his life to gaining India’s independence from Great Britain. As the dominant figure used his persuasive philosophy of non-violent confrontation, he inspired political activists with many persuasions throughout the world (Andrews 23). Not only was Mahatma Gandhi a great peacemaker, but also his work to achieve freedom and equality for all people was greatly acknowledged. Gandhi’s unconventional style of leadership gained him the love of a country and eventually enabled him to lead the independence movement in India.
For the majority of the free world, the character of Osama Bin Laden is relative to the attacks of September 11th, 2001. In the years to follow, the evidence collected as a result of a worldwide, multinational manhunt, revealed the complexity of the Al-Qaeda leader. In her published memoirs, former wife of bin Laden, Najwa bin Laden claims her husband had conflicting personalities (Farmer, 2009). Najwa cited her husband as a disciplinarian who would often beat their (his) children for displaying to much joy, laughing too much
Mohandas K. Gandhi, known to the world as The Mahatma, or the "Great Soul", brought a great gift to the modern world. That gift was the light of Non-Violence, of Service to the Community and of Social Justice. His life served as an example and this light became a torch which illuminated our world and which saved us from our own
Mahatma Gandhi once said, “You must be the change you wish to see in the world”. This shows that Gandhi believed in peaceful change. Gandhi was well known in India by many people. People were inspired by his ways and would stand by him in peaceful protesting. A lot of people believed in Gandhi as a hero. Just as well, Percy Jackson from the Lightning Thief is a known hero for stopping world WWIII between the gods. Both Gandhi and Percy Jackson follow the path of the hero 's journey because they 're both trying to complete a task.
global movements for rights and freedom. Ghandi was full of kindness and did not believe in
Leaders.Every country has and needs them for important decisions and to help stop problems and maintain order. Without leaders we would have nothing in society but chaos and destruction. Leadership to people can mean many different things but to almost all people Nelson Mandela and Mahatma Gandhi were both some of the best leaders known to man. And both of these incredible leaders were so impactful to their country that the had stories written about them. This is what we will be comparing and why Eulogy For Mahatma Gandhi is better than Long Walk to Freedom in persuading the audience about which one was a greater supporter of human rights. But they both are good in different ways. Gandhi inspired India to peacefully protest against Great Britain’s rule while Mandela became the first black president of South Africa and stopped segregation there. This will show why Jawaharlal Nehru’s Eulogy For Mahatma Gandhi is better than Nelson Mandela’s Long Walk to Freedom in persuading the reader that their person is a better supporter of human rights.
History has shown many times that a single human being is capable of vast influence among people and/or a society, especially for religious purposes. Generally, when people think about influential leaders tied to a religion, they think of the great leaders that strived for peace and equality for all, such as Mahatma Gandhi. Justly, the big religious figures who were not so great for the world are often not given any credit for being the influential, strong leaders that they were, such as Osama Bin Laden. Obviously no one wants to give props to someone who negatively impacted the world but many times these evil leaders are very similar to their opposites. Morals must be disregarded to make this comparison but it is worth making. As previously mentioned, the comparison going to be made is of polar opposites; Mahatma Gandhi and Osama Bin Laden. They both greatly influenced and affected the world based on actions they took because of their religious beliefs. One practiced Ahimsa, who preached non-violence, and the other one Jihad, who fought a war with non-believers. But which of their two messages was more successful; non-violence or violence? Not successful in regards to humanity or morals, but in influence, leadership, and how long their message resonated. Both religious figures will be evaluated from their beginnings in order to see all their influences and intentions, as well as the situations they were put in that pushed them to make the moves the did.
At first glance, these two historical figures could not seem more distant. Mohandas Gandhi campaigned a universal and tolerant version of religion and upheld these beliefs through his political movement. In contrast, Osama bin Laden has been credited for creating an antagonistic and combative interpretation of traditional Islam that led to some of the most gruesome acts of terror observed in the twenty first century. Although both of their ideals stand on opposite ends of the spectrum, they both achieved an influential status as religious and political leaders. Both can be credited for provoking thousands of people to act on their behalf. Although their ideologies were vastly different, these two men can both be regarded as religious extremists who made strides within their own political agendas.
For ages world leaders have practiced different styles of leadership and they have been successful in accomplishing many things from regional peace to world wars.
