After being dried; it is broken down and smokes via some type of pipe or joint. The “high” that is experience comes from a chemical that is commonly known as THC or maybe also know to a few of people it is known by its chemical name delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol. Like everything else with the sweet also must come with the sour. Some of these are negative ones. The THC that is found in marijuana can cause a few permanent and some semi-permanent effect on the brain. In young adults, that’s ages ragging from 13-21. Marijuana can affect thinking, memory, and even learning. There are also some studies that show that in these young adults it can lower IQ, by as many as eight points. Marijuana smoking also overreacts the endocannabinoid system. (NIDA 2014). When smoked by an adult it showed little to none of these effects. The “high” effect works because our bodies naturally make THC in our brains via the endocannabinod system. This system controls pleasure, memory, thinking, concentrations, and time perception. Other commonly physical problem is red bloodshot eyes, a constant, mucus-filled cough, rapid heartbeat, dry mouth, the munchies, and anxiety or fear. (TIMBERLINEKNOLLS 2005-2014). I guess the only real question is marijuana really as of addictive as they say.
Even I must believe that marijuana is very addictive, but research has shown that only about 9% of users are addicted to marijuana use, and other studies show that only one in six of young users are addicted, but 25 to 50% of them are daily users of marijuana. Since it has become readily available it comes in varieties different potencies now. I feel this may contribute to some
Smoking of marijuana can cause the person to become addicted to cocaine, heroin, and other drugs. Heavy or daily use effects the parts that control memory, attention, and learning (Facts for Teens, 13). When teens are 12 and 13 they are more exposed to drugs and most likely don’t listen to their parents (Age in Stem., 1). Some other psychological side effects would be paranoia, anxiety, fatigue, Euphoria, and mood swings (Fact Sheet, 1). Studies have shown that when a person uses marijuana it causes the heart to beat faster and work harder (Fact Sheet, 2). When people have smoked large measures of marijuana for years, the drugs takes its charge on mental functions (Facts for Teens, 13).
Marijuana creates many short-term and long-term effects on the body and brain. Some short-term effects include: impaired memory, altered senses, changes in mood, and difficulty with problem solving. Some long-term effects include: breathing problems, reduce memory, and decrease IQ. A study from New Zealand conducted in part by researchers at Duke University showed that people who started smoking marijuana heavily in their teens and had an ongoing marijuana use disorder lost an average of 8 IQ points between ages 13 and 38. The lost mental abilities didn't fully return in those who quit marijuana as adults (National). This study can be seen as reliable evidence because it was conducted by researched from Duke University, which is a private research

The main chemical in marijuana is tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which moves quickly through the bloodstream and to the brain, causing mild hallucinogenic effects. THC binds with cannabdnob receptors and activates neurons, which causes adverse effects on the mind and body. THC can mimic or block actions of neurotransmitters and interfere with normal functions. Marijuana use can lead to disturbed thoughts and can worsen psychotic symptoms. The short-term effects of marijuana include impaired coordination; skewed sensory and time perception; difficulty with thinking; shortened attention span and distractibility; impaired learning and memory. Long term users of marijuana often experience lowered motivation and some can experience anxiety, panic attacks, respiratory illness, and increased heart rate and risk of heart attack.

Jesus Christ definitely smoked weed. I mean have you seen the sandals, the breezy robe, and stoner beard? Give the guy some hot cheeto’s and some dark sunglasses, and the guy would be all set to go. Of course this theory requires a certain amount of disbelief, but I guess religion itself requires a lot of faith. It’s honestly more believable then the guy walking on water, so why can’t he just enjoy a joint at the same time? Even though weed is illegal I would like to think he was a toker back in the day because weed honestly saved my life. It’s funny because doctors act like weed is not true medication and is not a valid form of form of therapy, but they will preside you enough pills to make you forget what country you are on.
Humans have been using medicine to salve our wounds, physical and mental, since near the beginning of our species. It is something we used throughout the ages though we haven’t always used the same means achieve it. We’ve used “magic” elixirs, prayer, mercury, lobotomies, and other things that just weren’t effective methods of healing anyone. Today, we have vaccines, pills, antibiotics, and other medicine that has kept us going thus far in life. The medicine I want to inform you about today is Marijuana. Marijuana holds many medical uses.
“Marijuana is the most commonly used drug illegal drug in the world.” (“What is Marijuana”, 2013). It has recently become legal in a couple states, and more states are sure to follow their lead in the upcoming months. People can make the argument that marijuana does not have any negative effects, but they are wrong. Becoming addicted to marijuana is easy, and it only opens up the door for you to try other harmful drugs once marijuana quits getting you high. You need to know the whole story, how people become addicted, the negative effects it has on your body and mind, and what you can do once someone you know has become addicted.
While the entire world is going gaga about medical cannabis and its effect, there is still millions and billions worth of money invested by pharmaceutical and research companies on understanding more about the functioning of this herb. However, much of the research is still at infancy.
Although Marijuana may be fun to people, there are dangers that you should be cautious about. Marijuana can be very addicting. Most of the people who are addicted to Marijuana are under 21 years of age. In, “Hidden Dangers of Marijuana” it says, “Dangers in the immediate effects of marijuana include distortions of time and space perceptions and impaired coordination, all of which may be contributing to the increased risk of traffic accidents recently discovered. Particularly important for students to know about is the creation of difficulty thinking or problem solving and impairment of memory and learning. These difficulties can last for as long as four weeks after drug use.” These drugs may not seem harmful, but they definitely can be dangerous no matter what drug it is especially when people abuse the drug.
