Marine Corps Order P1020.34G. This one order clearly explains every uniform regulation the Marine Corps has. It goes into to detail on everything from hair color to boots and utilities. From chevron placement to shaven faces. It not only explains the male uniform regulations, but female uniform regulations as well. In this essay, I will explain go over specifically grooming standards for both male and female marines, why the marine corps has uniform regulations in the first place, and what these uniform regulations mean to me as a lance corporal of marines. Let’s start out with grooming standards. What are they you ask? Well the grooming standards go into specific detail about how marines need to look. Hair has to be neat and closely
The United States Marine Corps established November 10, 1775 is one of the most elite fighting forces in the world it's no surprise that the marines have fought in most every United States conflict since it was founded. The marines are mostly noted for fighting in the Pacific Theater during WWII. They were involved in some of the most bloody battles the US has ever fought. From the battle of Wake island to The battle of Okinawa these brave men have fought for our freedom in the air on land and in the sea.
Identify the part of speech of the italicized word in the following sentence: Unless the platoon is at close interval, all changes in formation are executed with normal interval and distance between files and ranks.
Fast forward, the Lord guided me through the U.S. Marine Corps, Desert Storm and four tours of U.S. Embassy duty, it was not easy as in those days you had to fight daily as a Marine. It was just par for the course, so to speak, this I believed harden my spirit along with frequent drinking. I think the drinking became a way of coping with the tragic death of my mother among other things. While in the Marine and living in Africa I had a vision of a mountain and a gathering of people dressed in white. I later determine that the mountain and the people were in Ethiopia. The people all looked as though they were in a trance and were walking to and from the mountain. When I would walk up and asked them what they were doing, they would only say one word to me "Exodus" the Greek word meaning to depart just as the Israelites had departed Egypt. At the moment I did not truly understand what God was saying, but I now I realize that God was telling me to turn away from my worldly ways. See as a Marine I became very aggressive and would fight at the drop of a hat. I was a drinker and womanizer and the more of both I had, the better I thought I was doing. That said, the vision I had was the embarkation line of my departure from the Egypt of my flesh and the beginning of my journey and transformation; not to say I am perfect now because I am still a finite being, but I am not who I used to be.
No matter if you stay in for one enlistment or two, the depth of the Marine Corps is unknown so knowledge will continuously flow and it is endless. All Marines get taught the basics of being a leader in entry level training, but only a few can react to help form their trait into an elite skill only for them. In order to become the elite you have to build a "Foundation of Values" (pg.31) so that respect in all aspects will become evident between the followers and their leader(s). While setting the example it does not matter what rank you are, you still show that the standards that you hold will reflect on who you are as a person and a Marine. Each Marine chooses how their standards and ways will become beneficial not only to the Marine Corps, but to themselves also. Why do ethics make conducting a moment of decision making so hard? At some point and time every Marine will come to a point in their career or life where the grey area will be the path they choose, but will not think that it is the right way. Moral and ethic dilemmas are common more and more each day. Every Marine is taught to be the toughest both physically, and mentally.
Kevin grit his teeth. His hands strangled the arms of his blue leather seat that were embroidered with white thread. Fear oozed from every pore within his body. His body tensed as we felt the engine roar, saw the turbines spin, and runway come to life. As the plane’s thrusters kicked in, Kevin shut his eyes, but I didn’t. I stared through my window and watched the runway lights gradually merge into a single line of fluorescent orange. Before I knew it, I was gazing upon Philadelphia, hundreds of feet in the air, illuminated by the light of an afternoon’s sun. Our destination, the Marine Corps Recruiting Depot.

“Get a move on!” screamed the Marine Staff Sargent. Veins popped out his forehead, covered with beads of perspiration, his jaw clenched, and his large, muscled biceps swelled underneath his sleeves. His eyes, dark and piercing, scanned the continuous stream of running marine recruits looking for anyone slacking. As swift as a hawk, he turned on his heal and ran to the back of the pack, singling out one recruit. “Are you a marine, or a grandma jogging?” hoarsely screamed the Staff Sargent, with his face just inches from the young man’s sunburnt face. “A marine, sir,” nervously responded the recruit. “Then act like one,” yelled the Sargent as he ran towards another slacking marine. “You’re about as sharp as the leading edge on a bowling ball,”

The 1985 to 1995 where America has had three presidents, and we have had many hardships as a nation. There are some cool events about this decade. Some of the places I found to have some cool events are America, Japan, and Italy. There is a corporation, I found interesting in the decade, and that was the Marines. My interviewee Edward, who likes to go by Ed or Eddy, is a 34 year old man. He is my boss at Albertsons. I picked him to be my interviewee because he has a strong work ethic, has been a marine, has maintained two jobs all of his career, and he is just a wonderful person to be around.
Many people are concerned about the U.S. military because of how many risks come with joining it. However, the U.S. military also explains the benefits that one could receive. Joining the military is a decision that should not be taken lightly. One must understand all aspects of the military. In order for a voter to be fully informed about joining the US military, one must consider both the risks, like mental illnesses and commitment and benefits, like education, and experience.
It was a warm summer evening as I packed for Navy Boot Camp. I carefully went down the list of things I could take and ensured I didn’t have anything else. A little nervous I went to talk to my parents about my move to becoming my own man. I looked at their faces and could tell that although they were proud they were a little nervous about their only son leaving home for the first time. My mom tried to smile but she was proud yet nervous because I had always been her little guy so she was having a hard time letting go. After a short conversation with my parents I decided to try and rest for the long journey ahead.
It wouldn’t be for several more weeks until the ship with our tanks arrived, until then I would train passionately, with a huge by in from the soldiers in my Platoon as they realised that this was not some training exercise in the states where we all go home and have a beer when done. This was what we prepared for. The day came like a Christmas morning we got the word our tanks had arrived, and we needed to go to the shoreline to retrieve them. The United States has worked out a deal that the Saudi’s would provide trucks and drivers to assist us. Therefore, I spent the next seventeen hours in the cab of a truck and a local Saudi who spoke no English, this would be the first time I experienced their culture as he stopped and prayed several times
