There is a lot of bad media that contributes to this every time there is a mass bombing first thing people think of is, Oh a Muslim did this but when it's not a Muslim and ends up being a white person they say he was a lone wolf a troubled child that had a dark past but when it's a black person they media blames the race and when it's a Muslim the media says blame the entire religion and destroy what it stands for.
On august 6th 1945, the United States dropped an atomic bomb on the Japanese city of Hiroshima, and 3 days later, they dropped another on the city of Nagasaki. The new weapons completely decimated the cities, and killed tens of thousands of people. Japan announced they would surrender to the allies a few days later on august 15. The United States justified their using of the bombs as a means to end the war without an invasion of Japan that would have resulted in thousands of more deaths on each side. While the Japanese did surrender shortly after the bombings, there is ample evidence to suggest that their surrender was imminent, and the use of the atomic bomb only accelerated peace. Through this essay, I will critically analyze justifications on the usage of the bombings, and potential results on this devastating new weapon.
“We were bombing Hamburg, Germany, that day. Didn’t have any fighter opposition, but we were hit with flak at 27,000 feet. The hit set the plane on fire. There was a hole in the wing I could have crawled through.” recalled Leonard Kessinger during an early 1990’s interview for the Dailey Telegraph in Princeton W.V.
Yesterday afternoon at 12:01 p.m. a bomb detonated in the Financial District of Manhattan New York. 30 people were killed and 151 were severely injured. Of those 151 people, 8 are in critical condition. As of now, the authorities have not found the culprit. The public, and even some of the investigators, suspect that “Galleanists” (Italian anarchists) are the ones behind this. This Galleanists were the ones responsible for the bombings that occurred last year. This bombing has only served to increase the fear of communism taking over our nation.
Many feel that media is to blame for the rise of islamophobia after 9/11. In 2010 there was more coverage of religion in mainstream press than any year since Pew Forum began measuring coverage time in the media (Religion in the News: Islam Was No. 1 Topic in 2010
Supports of the atomic bombs point out that Japan had been warned and given time to surrender. On July 26, the Potsdam Declaration was sent to Japan as a final ultimatum to accept unconditional surrender. The Allies would accept nothing but unconditional surrender with the document being concluded with “We call upon the Government of Japan to proclaim now the unconditional surrender of all the Japanese armed forces … the alternative for Japan is prompt and utter destruction.” In terms of warning, the US had dropped some 63 million leaflets on 35 cities warning citizens that if they didn’t surrender, Japan would be subjected to more bombing and eventual atomic bombing in an attempt to force the government.
There are various reasons other than 9/11 attacks, behind Muslim stigma around the globe. Islam has been in practice by millions of people around the globe and all of these people follow the same set of instructions for many centuries. The way of praying and other forms of religious activities in Islam have remained same for the majority of the Muslim population. This is the reason for stigmatization against Muslims as being considered as a static, unresponsive to change people.
On April 13th, 2017 the United States military dropped the largest conventional bomb in it’s arsenal on an ISIS cave complex in Afghanistan. The bomb killed at least 94 ISIS fighters. The blast destroyed three underground tunnels as well as weapons and ammunition, but no civilians were hurt, Afghan and US officials said.
The human brain is effortlessly conditioned by the world from what it sees and hears in the media. Society causes the public to obey what is seen in the eyes of the uneducated. This leads to conflicts in many different countries that assign a cruel name to Islam because of a few individuals hatred against society. Many people believe that all Muslims are a terroristic threat, causing Muslims to suffer from racial discrimination. Muslims, non-Muslim supporters, news outlets, and other media outlets must educate others about the peacefulness of true Muslims and decrease racial profiling, suspicion, and discrimination.
A couple of minutes later, the dive bombers from Enterprise arrived due to the decision of LCDR McClusky to turn northward. These pilots saw four carriers and made at least eight direct hits, causing Kaga to burst into flame. Due to the sacrificial attack of the torpedo planes, antiaircraft fire was light and there was no initial fighter opposition for the dive bombers because the fighters had not had sufficient time to regain altitude, so the bombers were extremely successful. Minutes later, Yorktown dive bombers arrived, attacking and bombing the Akagi class carrier at the moment the first Japanese plane started to take off. For both McCluskey’s squadron and the Yorktown planes, the bombs having been left improperly stored allowed each hit to be even more powerful, leaving both the Akagi and Kaga doomed to sink. Unlike, but also as a result of, the earlier American attacks, the entire Yorktown squadron returned safely. At the end of this portion of the battle, three Japanese carriers, Akagi, Kaga, and Soryu had been set on fire, two battleships had been hit, and one destroyer had been sunk. While submarines were not especially prevalent in the Battle of Midway, the Nautilus did

“The media’s the most powerful entity on earth. They have the power to make the innocent guilty and to make the guilty innocent, and that’s power. Because they control the minds of the masses,” were the words of Malcolm X during his famed 1963 speech. Many believe this quote has lost relevance in our contemporary society. However, on the contrary, it rings more true than ever. One popular topic that has had an extreme influence on our society due to the way the media portrays it is terrorism. Whether it is a tragic event such as 9/11 or simply the way it portrays Muslims, the media tends to sensationalize the fear and tragedy of such events to increase publicity while also depicting all terrorists as Muslim
“ An eight-year-old little girl lost her life today,” my mom said as she looked up from the TV. “ She was having the time of her life and it was taken away from her.” May 22nd at an Ariana Grande concert, 22 people including kids, died due to a bomb that was placed at the busiest exit of that arena. That day made many people afraid to go to concerts, including me. It is the day people will remember for the rest of their life.
As classes were concluding for the day on Wednesday, August 26th, there was an attack at Kabul’s American University of Afghanistan. There were 13 people killed and 30 injured in an attack that involved lots of gunfire and explosives. Due to the kidnapping on campus of two professors, one American and one Australian, earlier in the month. This allowed for training on what to do in a potential attack. Two of the attackers were killed by police after the shooting had been happening for a long period of time. Also, another attacker detonated a car that had been filled with explosives, outside the front wall to the university, causing the windows of classrooms to shatter. This added lots of fear and panic, causing students to attempt to flee, which
The September 11, 2001, horrific terrorist’s attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon left every Muslim to blame for these attacks. Even though it was only a few people out of this entire race that contributed to these attacks, all Muslims were held accountable in more ways than one. Since these attacks, they have become the target of numerous racial attacks and forms of racial discrimination. They have become the target of public resentment in America. It has become normal to associate every Muslim person with those
media. The article, Negative Media Portrayal of Islam, shows that “The point is that Islam has been consistently portrayed by global media as a violence-prone religion that is diametrically opposed to the West.” (Espiritu). This is what most Americans think about Muslims, that they are violent and only here to cause destruction. This could not be further from the truth; many Muslims are normal people who live normal lives like everyone else. Many Americans fear Muslims as they are often associated with the thought of the recent attacks. This is seen clearly with, President Donald Trump recently attempting to place a ban on Muslims trying to enter our country. This is ban was placed simply because one man is afraid of Muslims entering our country.
