Maybele: A Narrative Fiction

“Sorry sir, I woke up in this forest unintentionally, and was meaning to find my own way home. However I stumbled across unusual sounds, and due to curiousity, I decided to explore,” gulped the fawn.

"Yes, alpha, have a safe trip.” I hanged up the phone. After hearing about the girl, I was antsy throughout my whole meeting. My wolf wanted to go home right aways so as soon as the conference was done I made it back to my territory. When I reached the pack house everybody was outside having a cookout. The kids were playing while the grownups watched over them.

“Look, we did what we had to in order to keep our town safe back then and we are doing the same now. The population of the wolves must be increasing or their food source is depleting because they are getting closer and closer to our houses. We can’t have them snatching up any of our kids now can we?” The man challenged and I could see Bender shake his head.

“Concentrate, Aiden!” He clapped his hands. “Please you really need to focus. This is important. Children have to be careful when they venture into the forest. There’s a pack of wild, voracious wolves with gaping mouths reeling with fangs and forked tongues each as thick as my wrist. They roam the woods, ten feet or more, and then hung in the trees, breathing raggedly tasting your scent, considering how best to devour you. As a matter of fact only, the other day several of them snatched a baby elf out of its sleeping mother’s arms and thrashed the poor little dear to pieces.

“And a pack of them can do even more. There’s a reason why cooperation within individuals is so common among animals. It’s useful. I doubt the hellhounds would have been any threat at all, if you were just facing off against one.”

Roxanne couldn’t believe what she was doing. Housing a werewolf by choice, how was that honouring the witches code? A stifled sigh escaped her lips before she took a long swing of the wine that resided in her glass that looked rather enormous compared to her delicate fingers. What hadn’t evaded her was the sound he made as she’d touched him, a purr? It was something far lower than a purr, a rumble of sorts. All she knew for sure was that it wasn’t aggressive. How could this even be? She’d never read or heard of such a pairing. She guessed that he was classed as an animal in some way, but this was more than she’d expected could ever happen.

Hunger made her stomach rumble like thunder, but still she hesitated as she watched the girl. Her instincts were telling her to act quickly, before something else did, but she found that she was reluctant to do so. She was no friend to humans. The wolf had witnessed their cruelty firsthand, when they stole her pups and slaughtered her pack, but there was something different about this one, an innocence the others had not possessed. And, perhaps, the wolf saw something in the child that reminded her of herself.

“All right, I’ll take you to him. But if he doesn’t know you, you’re all going to be thrown into the frying pan.” She made a slashing gesture with her huge, hooked claw across her neck. “And I’ll cook you up just like I do my fish, dark and crispy.”

Jensen frowned at the man and stepped back. "Perhaps, but in teaching your <i>'lessons'</i>, you forgot your spot on the food chain. Don’t worry, we'll remind you."

While walking thru the forest , something with a coat white as snow dotted in front of me i grabbed my knife from its sheath but, then i realized it was okulu a wolf that i have known since the day i was born i quickly put away my knife,”What did you think i was?” she said.”I thought

“Why didn’t you tell me? We shouldn’t be here! Why would you bring me into these woods were you new there were werewolf’s who probably hate you? You can deal with this on your own, take the last bullet.” Rob said, angry. Then he started following the path back to the camp.

" He knew I was going to do this. I like to think he'll still be somewhere offering support."

“Well, apparently the elder sent every village in Bichon Frise a message. He wants to hold a meeting at Elder Village. Something about the end of our days.”
