The Hippocratic Oath, created by a compilation of works largely based on Hippocrates, has always stood as guidelines for the conduct of physicians. The Classical oath has and continues to serve well in preserving the sanctity of the medical profession while developing a basis for the respectful treatment of patients. After ensuring the preservation of medicinal practices and knowledge, the consequences of it are realized through guiding ideas. The Hippocratic Oath affirms, “I will keep [my patients] from harm and injustice.” Doctors swear by contributing to the wellbeing of patients, ignoring the various personal effects of ego, sexual interest and human tendency to gossip. Doctors must be able to admit to inability in order to make sound judgements. This would mean diagnosis to the best of their ability, and nothing beyond their ability: “I will apply dietetic measures for the benefit of the sick according to my ability and judgment" (Hippocrates). The oath calls on doctors not to abuse their societal power or fall prey to their desires: “I will come for the benefit of the sick, remaining free of all intentional injustice, of all mischief and in particular of sexual relations" (Hippocrates). The oath further protects the patient’s emotional wellbeing by restricting the doctor from disclosing details surrounding the patient’s physical condition. The medical assisting field is growing in a fast rate; in average it is said to grow 31% between 2010 and 2020 (Adams, 2014). The reason for this growth is the continuous change within the medical field. This growth will result in an increase in the number of group practices, clinics, and other facilities that need a high number of support personnel like medical assistants who can perform both administrative and clinical tasks. I would also advise that you simply understand what the combining forms and even the root words because that will give you the basic understanding of the whole word and what the word is pertaining to.

Not only is there a section of the exam dedicated exclusively to medical terminology but many different parts and subjects within the exam also require full knowledge and understanding of medical terminology. Being avid with the anatomical terminology is one aspect of the job as a phlebotomist that you must master. An extensive vocabulary assists in obtaining many opportunities that can open new horizons for applicants to medical school. Apart from impressing the school of choice, one could be more educated in their own right and be able to communicate more concisely. In order to achieve this gift with words one must practice them on a daily basis. There are many ways to improve this skill: learning one word a day, making mnemonic devices, making flash cards, use the words as much as possible, pay attention to context, and pay attention to root words. Medical schools require a significant amount of community service experience, research work, and dedication. It's important in the medical field to know how to pronounce and spell the words correctly; it allows doctor assistants and doctors to speak in their own way.
