I conducted my field study research project at Meeks Park on October 28th, 2015 in Blairsville, Georgia. I chose Meeks Park for the location of my field study research because I rarely leave my house, but when I do, I usually go to Walmart and Meeks Park on my occasional trips to town. Since I am not fond of grocery shopping, I am always excited to visit Meeks Park with my family. Although Meeks Park serves as the setting for many events and festivals throughout the year, there were no events or festivals taking place the day I visited the park. However, throughout my nearly three-hour stay at Meeks Park, I unobtrusively observed other park visitors to see the types of activities they participated in, as well as observing the demeanor and attitude …show more content…
The trails are well-kept, and easy to navigate; moreover, the trails are situated in beautiful, serene woods. There a couple of bridges that goes over waterways in a couple of spots that provide calming views of the flowing waters. (I know this is not the focus of my research, but I had to include how picturesque the scenery is). While strolling along the trails, we passed various people. Most people were alone; there were only two occasions where we walked by two people. Some people were jogging, and others were just walking along the trail. Although the encounters with others were short-lived as we walked along the trails, every one we came across acknowledged us by saying hello or with a wave. At one point along the trail we found a box inside of a tree stump that had a piece of paper with names, a pencil, and other various items. I am not very familiar with geocaching, but I recognized the finding as that activity. The paper included signatures of people I did not know, as well as dates. The piece of paper was nearly four years old, and my children and I incorporated our own signatures. We also added our own various objects; my daughter left a hair bow, my son left a flower he picked, and I left a quarter. As I said, I am not sure how geocaching really works, but my children were especially excited to sign their names to a piece of …show more content…
In most instances, my interactions with others were limited, and I operated as a complete observer. With the exception of the woman annoyed with the children getting her wet, all other observations were enjoyable. Perhaps being in such a peaceful and beautiful place brings out the friendliness and warmth in most people. None of the people I observed were much different from each other, besides some people were younger or older. However, each individual had clearly chosen a wonderful place to relax and enjoy. My observations have led me to consider that being in a peaceful environment can have an immense effect on behavior and
The setting is very tranquil and serene; it is also very welcoming and very tempting, how so?
Nature in its tranquility provides a calming sensation away from the buzzing city life. The ability
3) With respect to the others. When geocaching find all kinds of treasures clean and elegant. The idea is that if you take something that you should leave something behind and create a log. You can learn a lot of different people by examining the treasures they left behind and reading the log. You can enjoy many different people from many different cultures, this appears to be a fairly common hobby in which people of all ages and cultures spend hours in question.
Twenty-five established rules allowed the doors of comprehension and the ability to personally relate and reflect to the authors’ view-points to open. As each of these rules plays a defining role in understanding the ability to practice civility, each rule is also a key component in assimilating how to improve on your meditation skills; understand what civility and mediation represent, Forni makes a solid statement that intertwines the two: “if anything, these rules may feel like a “longcut,” since civility requires work and dedication. But they do offer a path to serenity and contentment” (M., 2002, p.41). Since civility and mediation share multiple common grounds and house a wide variety of rules, three will be singled out in which I have found, the most beneficial to my own personal growth and understanding.

2. Throughout the 1950s Lou Harris spent his Friday nights playing on the turf of La Grove field. On October 12 Harris was able to spend one last night under the lights of the field, as a spectator, before the field is to be torn down.
Tracy and I sat down to prepare for our outing with my sister-in-law Shelly and her husband James, who were visiting from Kansas City. I must admit, I was a little skeptical about the thought of treasure hunting. James informed me that all we needed was a free membership with the website geocaching.com, and a hand held GPS unit or a GPS enabled smart phone. We then created an account and decided on a profile name. We were now ready to see what this treasure hunt was all about. We soon discovered it was a technology-driven game of hide and seek using global positioning satellites. Members are able to hide caches and log their coordinates for others to find. These hidden caches contain a log sheet for you to sign your profile name. Some
We plan to accomplish this firstly by improving the trail between the Tom Ford Park and Lafayette Heritage Trail Park. As of right now, it’s quite narrow in some areas and because it’s a shared-use trail between cyclists and pedestrians it means there is little room for coexistence so we’d like to expand it by at least two feet. We also propose that we should increase public knowledge of these trails through the use of social media, information sessions at the Piney-Z Homeowners Association meetings, and through a partnership with the FSU Hiking Club. There is also very little signage at both parks, especially Tom Brown where the entrance to the trail is just an ingrowth in the forest without any declaration. We recommend that clear and vibrant signs are erected in both parks that display a map of the trail marked with locations and amenities at both places as to encourage use. As we walked through Piney-Z, to our dismay, we noticed many of the streets lacked sidewalks, forcing us to walk on the road and dodge oncoming cars by moving onto people’s lawns which one resident, in particular, wasn’t so pleased with. So to keep this community safe and encourage people to walk in the neighborhood and to the park we propose to create sidewalks along every street in the

This article will be telling you about the importance of preserving the natural state of Welcome Park. Welcome Park plays a big role in the surrounding communities. Storm water runoff is not a good thing. Welcome Park aids the natural disposal of the runoff, in the park there is an area specifically designed to dispose of the water. A nature trail could enhance that and also give local families something to do together.
“The less you respond to rude, critical, argumentative people, the more peaceful your life will become.” This statement was made by Best-Selling author Mandy Hale. But, this is incorrect. Many people believe that staying away from negativity can help bring a peaceful life, but that is not always the case. For example, there are consequences for your mistakes and you learn from them. Which, over time, can change you. Also, negativity can help change your lifestyle, help you learn from other people’s mistakes. And finally, if people do get hurt, either emotionally or physically, there are many support groups around the world that help. Numerous amounts of people feel that relationships are not important, and they are correct. They are not just

With poor weather, it was clear that the species that thrived in the wooded areas survived more effectively as a result of the protection that offered by the woods. Although more mosses and grasses were present near the quarries, it was obvious that they were much more susceptible to wind, cold, and rain. With fall in full swing, the vegetation near the quarries changed much sooner than the woodland vegetation.
These people, at first, did not let fear penetrate their mind. These people lived harmoniously amongst each other, and the community thrived. However, this harmony deteriorated as fear slowly crept into the minds of the occupants of the
There was one peculiar individual, a young Hispanic male, who I observed riding a bicycle in circles around the only building in the park for approximately ten minutes. Nothing but circles, and then he rode off down the road. There was another Hispanic male who was pushing a young child on a swing. After a short time they left the park on foot. The last person I saw during the Freeze-Frame, besides the ice-cream man who drove by and the trailer park resident who passed through the park and walked on down the road, was a city worker who was doing routine maintenance in the park; checking sprinklers, emptying garbage, and doing whatever in the building.
