In closing, producers of the film, Michael Douglas and Saul Zaentz created the 1975 film and made some alterations, additions, and also deleted some scenes from the original 1962 novel. The alteration was quite evident and changed the whole perspective of the film, literally. Instead of having the story told from Chief Bromden point of view it is told in an omniscient all-seeing perspective. The additions in the film including taking a character who is released early in the book and make him a character who is seen throughout the entire film. Taber takes pleasure in poking at Harding with sarcastic and physical jab and is an important character. The deleted scenes is the viewers of the film fail to see the betrayal by McMurphy which allows
The novel and the movie share many similarities. The book and the novel share the same problems. A example johnny and pony run away since johnny killed bob.In both johnny gets injured badly and dies.
There were certain plots that took place in the movie, but wasn`t mentioned in the book, if not then it was only briefly brought about. When the 6 men were out in the bar drinking and partying the night before they were off to sea once again, the book mentioned only briefly about Murph, one of the crewmen, ?he has an ex-wife Debra, and a three-year-old baby, also named Dale, whom he openly adores?. In the movie, it showed Murph and his son, who wasn`t three years old, but older, in the movie, bonding that last night. However, the book never mentioned this event taking place. The movie creator
There was also important scenes that weren't in the movie but in the novel somewhere near the ending Sodapop runs out of the house and his brothers ran after him that was one important scene that the movie didn't show, it just skip that and went straight to the end. Then the part where Johnny’s mom came to see him at the hospital it didn’t show that in the movie only shown when the nurse told Johnny that his mom wanted to see him but didn't actually show his mom. The movie did add some scenes that weren't shown in the movie it showed Dally going into the store after Johnny’s death and robbing it and running
It is believable that the motion picture version of the book must have been altered because of the length, as well as the time periods in which the movie and the book were released. In this time that the movie was released, there are certain things that occurred in the book that are no longer as acceptable to society today. For example, racism and sexism are no longer as tolerable in today’s time as it used to be during the time that the book was released. The changing social norms forced Baz Luhrmann, the director, to alter the movie in order to make it more suitable to today’s audience.
Most of deletions of scenes are caused by the limit of time in the movie. However, the version of 1974 Gatsby movie didn't fully succeed in manipulating the order of plots and transiting the spirituality what the author expressed, though it quoted a great deal of sentences from the book.
There are other significant similarities between the movie and the book, so if I overlooked or forgot any extremely crucial points, forgive me.
When watching the film, the first difference the viewer can see between the book and the movie is how the characters are portrayed. A notable example would be Carlson. In the film,
When I read “The Pact”, I felt some connection between the characters; Sampson Davis, George Jenkins, and Hunt Rameck. Throughout their hardship and struggles, It encouraged me to read on. But as I continued reading on, the three main characters stood out the most. But out of those three characters, one stood out in particular. Throughout his experiences and trials, I could see myself in that situation. In how he felt, in the manner in how he saw things around, I could see how I would have done the same thing myself. Dr. Hunt is someone I could relate to, someone I could see becoming friends with.
The first difference between the film and the novel is the narration. In the book, Chief Bromden is the narrator who reveals McMurphy's story in the mental hospital. Chief is the main character since he is the one who's life we learn about the most throughout the book. We learn that he is a paranoid schizophrenic, and a half-breed Indian. We also learn about his family and his past.
The producers of the film, Michael Douglas and Saul Zaentz created the 1975 film and deleted some scenes from the novel. Failing to put scenes in the film that are important to the novel's portrayal can be a bad decisions for most producers. Readers and viewers may be disappointed because they were looking forward to the scene or it changed the plot entirely. In most cases scenes have to be deleted in order to keep the film a certain length. This is evident for movies like The Hobbit and The Hunger Games. If the producers were to keep every scene from the novel the film would be at least six hours. In regards to One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest, producers decided to delete a few minor scenes and clips but the most evident deletion in McMurphy’s
This novel was also turned into a movie in 1962. The movie and the book had both similarities and differences. For instance, the relationship between Atticus and the African Americans was a similarity between the book and the movie. On the other hand the absence of Aunt Alexandra in the movie was a prominent difference between the book and the movie. The book and the movie were both good ,but there were similarities and differences in each .
Is the novel making the same point about the value or ideas as the film? If so, how? If it is making a different point about the value or idea, how is it different?
The movie adaptation of the book kept many of the key commonalities found in the novel similar. One major event that was kept the same, was the fact that Billy had to
The book tells the same story as the movie but in a different way it cuts out thing the movies has or the movies adds thing that's not in the book. The book has some not many similar but . I feel the director was unfaithful to the book. The book and movie version of Our America had many differences.
Normally, when a movie is made about a story in a book the two stories are not exactly the same. The movie is adjusted by adding small details or leaving out some parts in order to make the story more
