“America's Gift to my Generation”
The United States army known as the Military is a great gift to the people in America. The Military is an army in which fights for our country voluntarily. Also theirs many reasons I believe the Military is a gift to our generation such as soliders protect us, sacrifice there life so others don't have to, and volunteer freely. I will forever be grateful for the military.
The Military has been protected us for centuries. Fighting other countries so that we don't get harmed. Also, soldiers use weapons we won't even lay our hands on towards anonymus people. Finally, the army kills random people so that we won't have to. General George C. Marshall once said “Always do everything
The military has been instrumental in the protection and development of U.S interests around the world. From the Revolutionary War, which established the United States as a nation, through the World Wars, which set up the U.S as one of the world super powers, to its current war on terror, the military has helped and protected U.S. interests around the world. During all these wars American soldiers have proudly served their country. Because of these wars America is famous throughout the world for military power and its protection of freedom in the world. Today the U.S is an international symbol of wealth and power; it has the largest Gross Domestic Product in the world as well as the strongest military. Yet even America falls prey to a
The branches of the military are: the US Marine Corps, the US Army, the US Navy, the US Air Force, the US Coast Guard, and US Special Operations Command. The US Marine Corps works very closely with the Navy and they are typically the first one on the ground when it comes to combat. The Army protects the security of the US and our resources. The Navy defends our rights to freely travel and trade on the oceans as well as protect our national interests that are overseas. The Air Force focuses on air power abroad and home. The Coast Guard protect the environment, public, and security and economic interest that are in a maritime region. The Coast Guard not only falls under the DOD, but also the Department of Homeland Security. After the 9/11 attacks,
The civilian populous security awareness increases when the military is present. When every soldier takes his oath to the Constitution, we as soldiers accepted the responsibility to protect and serve the people. The United States entrusts soldiers with the power to use deadly force while respecting the sanctity of life at the same time. Most people do not comprehend how vital trust is; it is at the same level as faith. The absence of trust puts personal lives and jobs at risk. The Military places trust in the civilian population when they contract them to aid the Soldiers on their daily task and building most of their weaponry, vehicles, ships and aircraft.
In addition to how we serve, it is what we do that the American people place a great deal of trust. The Army accomplishes its missions and fulfills its obligations to the American people through the third characteristic military expertise. Trust is a crucial component of the characteristic military expertise since we ask the American people to trust that we will be the experts in proficiency, efficiency, and distribution of land combat power. They expect the Army to develop continually, our technology, tactics, and ourselves in order to defend the country, its Commonwealths, possessions, and interests. “The American people trust that the Army as a profession will produce the expert work when and where needed”(Don Snider) Occasionally we hear of drone strikes that kill multiple civilians, sometimes a few while others are unfortunately over 1,000.
Serving the United States Military comes with many responsibilities as well as pressure and accountability. However, the military isn’t for everyone, but it offers so much for those who serve. One thing that must be known and dealt with is that this career could be a life threatening one, and there are many obstacles one must go through beforehand.
The United States Military Protects our Freedom: More men and women volunteers are need for the military.
Marines are often called another name for what they do, and from the beginning of the Cold War to now the Marines have come to be known as America 's 911 Force (Frakes, 2011). America has several interests at home and abroad and for this they also set up embassies in foreign countries. The ones who have the distinct honor of guarding our embassies are none other than United States Marines. This ensures that in a crisis Americans who are caught up in
The United States is a land that was created through war. To end a war we must have a solid army to defend the things we want to achieve. Whether its freedom from our fathering country’s or to show the power we have. Understanding how we have come to be from wars like the French and Indian war that sparked the beginning of the American revolution and the military culture and how the experience and significance of our country’s soldiers and militia men compared and brings us to our American military culture and the value’s of American thought, culture, and society. We would not have things like “Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness”, if it wasn’t for our great nations military force. A time period ranging from about 1755 to 1861 America has dealt with many trials and stipulations that
“We must never forget why we have, and why we need our military. Our armed forces exist solely to ensure our nation is safe, so that each and every one of us can sleep soundly at night, knowing we have guardians at the gate,” said Allen West,a retired Army lieutenant colonel and a former member of the House of Representatives. He explained America’s need for a strong military perfectly in this quote. The United States depends on their military to protect them from all different kinds of threats like cyber warfare or terrorist attacks.
Their are many continuities with respect to how the United States constructs its military between 1776 to 2015. The military was and still is an appealing option for poor Americans. As written by Howard Zinn in A People’s History of The United States, “In fact, the military became a place of promise for the poor, who might rise in rank, acquire some money, change their social status.” This was true
“ You cannot exaggerate about the Marines. They are convinced to the point of arrogance, that they are the most ferocious fighters on earth- and the amusing thing about it is that they are” (148) Father Kevin Kearney, 1st Marine Division Chaplain Korean War gives his opinion on how well developed and trained the United states Marines truly are. Marines are held to the highest standards of society, each Marine knows in his/her heart they are the the best of the best and no one is superior to them. The U.S. Marines are “ The Few, The Proud”, because not just anybody can become a Marine, it takes guts, courage and motivation. Each Marine is rewired in the brain to be the ideal warrior and to have the brotherhood of the Marine Corps instilled
To live free you must fight for your right and to fight there will be blood to be shed but america will triumph at the end. The gift to my generation is the us army because they are always there when we need them. They are always willing to fight when things go drastically rong so that peace is kept. They are even willing to give their lives for us because they all believed in the idea of a free country. These are all the reason that america's army is the gift to my generation.
Everybody loves knowing that they are safe. Americans know that they are always safe. They know this because our military is always protecting them. This is why I think our military is America's greatest gift to my generation.
Young people in some countries are forced to serve two years in the military in some countries. I believe that we should not have a similar policy because some people want to do something else other than being in the military, we would have too many people in the military, and it would cost a lot of money. It is not fair to force people in the military. They can respect their countries in other ways. There are a lot of reasons why young people in the United States should not have to serve in the military for two years.
