The Mini DBQ’s helps students better understand the world around them and make decisions. The Mini DBQ’s is a collection of multiple sources in one large packet for a student to gather evidence in support of a main idea. It asked students to study the Preamble and see if America is spending their money correctly. This analysis makes students truly understand what the Preamble means in the current world. It also allowed students to study the current budget and to discover if it is truly how they believe the money should be spent. This study of the Preamble and the

Overcrowded, smoggy, dirty. These word would describe what the gilded age and progressive era looked like. With multiple families living in a small space and people working for less than living wage in dirty cramped factories. Food was made in unsanitary places with rats crawling over it. There were millions of child labour. Some people would say that the inventions society got were great but it was at the cost of people's lives. Economic growth was bad for society because factories had harsh condition.
During the 1790 the country was split up over the rise of political parties. There were the federalists led by alexander hamilton and the democratic-republicans led by Alexander Hamilton and the democratic republicans led by tomas jefferson. The federalists and democratic-republicans have different views on many things, including the interpretation of the constitution, strong parts of the nation's economy and if the alien and sedition acts were important to have in our country.
What if you were in a country where you were forced to overpay on everyday items, but were not able to change this in any way? If you would feel angry, and frustrated, then you would have sympathized with the American colonists in the mid 1700s. America had grown tired of being taxed relentlessly because of the heavy payment of the French and Indian War. One-sided acts and laws such as the Intolerable Acts and the Stamp Act treated the colonists unfairly. Thoughts drifted toward rebellion, and the people were empowered by acts of defiance against the British. The Boston Tea party and the speech by Patrick Henry made the Brits pass more laws and acts, causing an uproar in the colonies. Many unreasonable laws and acts of defiance led the country
It is the middle of the in 1778, there are men everywhere, cots full of ill soldiers, and smoke filled huts. Half of the population is sick and the soldiers have almost no fight left in them. There are few men with spirit left in the camps at Valley Forge. Thomas Paine states, “These are the times that try men's souls”, and as the men walk around injured, bleeding, frozen, and starving you do not only see hunger and pain, you would see what looked like poverty. Tattered clothing draped on the backs of the worn out soldiers, and starved, skeleton resembling bodies. Even though these harsh times will show the true colors of man, some are boasting with the red, white, and blue of patriotism. While innumerable people believe that there is almost no fight or spirit left, the soldiers that stay have hope to win this war. If I was a soldier at Valley Forge, I would stay. I would continue to
The Aztecs have two remarkable qualities about their culture; human sacrifice and agriculture. While both of these qualities holds an importance in their history, historians should emphasize human sacrifice more. The Aztecs human sacrifice is more notable than the Aztecs agricultural ability, because they left land unoccupied for later sacrifices, it resulted in many’s death, and even the finest were sacrificed.
American colonists mainly descended from England and were loyal to the British Crown, however, politically the decisions made in the Continental Congress and the stopping of salutary neglect angered the colonists, socially, as a result of unfair taxes, colonists from all the colonies began to rebel and thus have their interests aligned which developed a sense of social unity, and economically after many unjust acts were carried out by the British Empire, the colonies began to help one another, therefore between 1750 to 1776 colonists began to cease their loyalty towards England and develop an independent American identity.
With the growth of cities and factories, citizens began to see unsafe and filthy conditions that progressives tackled to change. Muckrakers, journalists who exposed both government and corporations for their corruption, caused the most waves in change regarding consumer protection. Although at times the pieces by muckrakers were exaggerated, they were able to generate public awareness on issues that would have otherwise been swept under the carpet. One of the most notable pieces was “The Jungle, “by Upton Sinclair. Although he had originally wanted to expose the harsh conditions faced by immigrants throughout industrialized parts of America, he inadvertently exposed the meat industry for their unsanitary practices. Upton Sinclair made the public very aware of what is actually in their meat.
In 1787 the government realized that the articles of confederation were not good enough. Tyranny was avoided in different ways. After the realization the founding fathers decided to get rid of them and make a new one. Meaning, throw away the articles of confederation and start a fresh set of rules for the government. How did a new set of rules or paper protect itself from tyranny? The only way is to make changes and for them to be good. That will consist of federalism, separation of powers, checks and balances, and balancing power between the large and small states.
There are many different actions and responses which lead up to the Revolutionary War. But a few of the largest actions on the part of Britain were the Acts which were imposed on the colonists. The first attempt to tax the colonists was the Stamp Act, and was a colossal failure. When Britain established the Stamp Act in 1765, they were trying to move the tax burden from their own over taxed citizens, to the colonists, who, up to that point, hadn't truly been taxed at all. They tried again in 1773, with largely the same results. The colonists refused to support Britain and adamantly opposed the taxation of any and all goods by the crown. This was made worse by the struggling farmers and merchants who's businesses had been crippled by the taxes
If only you were in the holocaust and had something to keep yourself happy. What would that one thing be to help your spirit triumph? Believe it or not many Jewish people had to keep their self happy, like Etty Hillesum or Syvia Perlmutter, just make it out of those camps alive. Even in some of the hardest times they would need to stay happy to stay alive. They many many more thing than just one one.
It is time for war with bullets flying pass you. Will you continue and try your hardest to win your country’s freedom or not. It’s the year of 1777 at George Washington’s winter camp, Valley Forge. I chose to re-enlist because of three reasons, the first reason is healthy men, like me are needed. I also need to think about others and help win this war, unlike others who don’t think about others. The Congress Committee is also finally starting to listen to us soldiers, they are doing their best to provide us food, like meat and some clothing. These are the three main reasons why I have chosen to stay.
On December 19, 1777, George Washington and his troops, a.k.a the Colonists, arrived at Valley Forge. Not knowing in the later future or when the Winter came, all disaster broke loose. Everyone started to die from the harsh weather and the disease that was spreading across the camp, but they still kept their head up and had a lot of optimism during the bad times that they were going through. For example, in The American Crisis by Thomas Paine (Doc D), he says, ”These are the times that try men’s souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, will shrink from their service of their country; but he that stands now, deserves love and thanks from man and woman.” This could mean that the soldiers that are the ¨sunshine
