Mobius SLIP is a program and a method which was created to allow colleges and universities to more effectively and efficiently evaluate their students through anonymous peer assessments. Mobius SLIP was founded in 2012 at the University of North Carolina, Greensburo Campus under the acronym CTASIT (Complex Task Assessment Solutions and Information Technology), by Alexey Babik, Dmytro Babik, and Eric Ford. The SLIP program is a modern incarnation of the Socratic Method. “The Socratic method is a method of hypothesis elimination, in that better hypotheses are found by steadily identifying and eliminating those that lead to contradictions. The Socratic method searches for general, commonly held truths that shape opinion, and scrutinizes them to determine their consistency with other beliefs.”(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socratic_method) At its core is the concept of peer evaluation, assessment, and criticism which offers the students an opportunity to improve their work. This also encourages both critical and creative thought allowing more opportunity for improvement. Part of its name ‘Mobius’ refers to the endless Mobius strip concept. This is likely an allusion to its concept as a continued learning (teaching how to learn) tool. …show more content…
This means that students do all the heavy reading and write a brief response in which they critique the assignment and add any corrections or new ideas that they may have to the work. SLIP is flexible and scalable to any classroom or online course setting, from small college classes and for these reasons especially useful in university classes where 400 or more students are possible because professors and teachers can choose to no longer write corrections onto the reports of their students, and instead only need to mark the
A Running Record is a tool that provides a way to assess an individual student’s reading, determine appropriate levels of text for reading, and to inform teaching. Taken at intervals, these records can show growth over time in reading skills. This assessment tool can be done quickly and frequently. It is individually conducted and informs the teacher on what strategies a student uses to make meaning of individual words and text as a whole. While the student is reading the teacher records all correct responses with a checkmark. The teacher will then use a symbol to mark each substitution, insertion, omission, self-correction, told, appeal, hesitation, repetitions, and repetitions with an error or self- correction. You can gather results by

The Cornell note taking system, developed by former Cornell University professor Walter Pauk in 1949, features three areas. It features a three-part system used for condensing and organizing notes, whether in the classroom or out in the field. One area is for note taking, the second is for review notes, and the last one is for summarizing. Cornell notes was invented to benefit students in the classroom and help them formulate a way in which they can understand the lessons being lectured while at the same time being well organised.
Students can complete the notes packet (4-1, 4-2, 4-3) with a partner or small group. Students are familiar with this topic as it's a just review.
The first artifact I included was a sample of student work where the students were asked to fill out a survey to verify and understand their learning styles. This artifact was introduced with some history and with an emphasis on how important it is for students to know and understand their own learning styles. After a discussion on the importance of ‘knowing thyself’ the students graded and scored their learning style preferences. Next followed a discussion on the various types of learning styles and ways students could incorporate their preferred learning styles when doing homework, classwork, and studying for assessments. This artifact is a good example of how Standard 4: Element b., Middle Level Instructional Strategies, can be applied directly to student assessments.

One different is different type of homework. Acceding to the text, adult educational class’s workbook provides comprehension question and fill in blank question, but Purcell-Gates request Jenny to write journal entry of her day and read her journal entries out loud. Biology, chemistry, physics, statistics, calculus, US history, government, and English are some of the many advanced placement or AP courses available to high school students. AP courses allow students to earn college credit, pending the results of a rigorous cumulative test at the conclusion of a school year. In a similar fashion, the in depth knowledge, insight, and wisdom sought within these courses are astounding but, the added difficulty can reduce good performance by the student. Even though, online help can be a useful, helpful, and aresourceful tool students don’t use the internet to aid them in their endless mounds of homework, not to be used as cheating sites but, as guides to help further understand the materials. Although
This is an era that everything wants faster and easier, that’s why humans invented a lot of things, such as computers, printers, network, Google and SparkNotes. It is believed that almost all of the students have heard of SparkNotes, before this is called CliffsNotes. This is something that makes students of this generation to become complacent in “short-cut” society, unless they use as far as a helper. So today, I want to say is short-cut about Sparknotes.
Over the years, many people have believed that the issue of sexual harassment should not be discussed in public. Sexual harassment was to be discussed behind closed doors. In spite of this, the social and political systems have changed instantaneously. This social problem has affected men and women throughout time; however, it seems that the women of our society more closely look at this issue. This social topic has encouraged women to establish organizations in order to help them discuss the issues more openly and to demand equality including fairness and justice throughout the workplace and in their social lives as well. In recent years, sexual harassment has been one of the most serious and widespread problems
