Executive Summary
This report was compiled to highlight the operation of Radars in general, its application and how it contributes to make our lives better as well as the society. Furthermore, the report compares its positive and negative effects on the society and the application of this to our lives as a whole. Additionally, it concludes and provides recommendations on some of the issues use of Radars in our society brings about.
Radar is something that is being used in our surrounding, despite the fact that it hardly gets detected. There are many uses for radars in our community or society. Aviation authority utilizes radar to track planes both on the ground and noticeable all around, furthermore to guide planes in for smooth arrivals. Police use radar to recognize the pace of passing drivers. NASA utilizes radar to delineate Earth and different planets, to track satellites and space garbage and to help with things like docking and moving. The military uses it to identify the foe and to guide weapons.
Radar effect positively and negatively. It plays very important role in society. Because of radar people can make predictions easily and all are aware about the surroundings. It also plays major role for the safety of people.
This report is on brief discussion of What is Radar and how does it work. Also we will look after how it effects on the society.
Ground penetrating radar (GPR) can be used for numerous amount of applications. It is not only used for construction, but it can be use for archaeologists, marine scientists, geologic profiling and so forth. The GPR will send minute pulses of energy into the substance, record the time and strength for the return of the reflected signal. The control unit will send electrical pulses to the antenna which will then amplify this pulse and transmit it into the substance at a certain frequency. Determining what substance, the pulse hits it will have a strong or weak reflection. This information will come back into the control unit (in this case the GSSI SIR 20 was used which has a laptop preloaded with software to help process and interpret
The radio in its current version as with many other technologies like it, evolved into the profile it now holds. Born out of the development of the telegraph, the radio was a kind of wireless telegraph. Its root date back to the mid-1800, when Rudolph Hertz demonstrated varying electricity can generate radio waves, around the end of the 1800’s. Besides
The book covers the perils of microwave weapon with its sophisticated technology using the nervous system with a reach of all the bodily functions is well beyond any one’s imagination. Some part of this article is from the book for
The main claim of this article is that there will always be fear new technology and that it will damage society. An example from the article looks back at history to the invention of the radio and how people condemned it because of the harm it brought to children that listened to it, according to
Pick an example of radar and explain how it works using at least one diagram or picture. [5 marks]
Every day we hear on the news killing, robbery or some form of terror attack. Indeed, the crime rate and devastation levels are extremely high in America. Nevertheless, through technology the invention of alarm system gives us peace of mind
New technology that can aid law enforcement and the criminal justice system could include the improved smart radio that law enforcement can utilize on a daily basis. The smart radios will detect traffic congestion on one frequency and will quickly switch to another. This is one application among many to the smart radio’s advantage over the traditional radio. The traditional radio is a more expensive model being composed of mostly analog parts. The smart radio takes advantage of the new age digital technology making it less expensive and capable of being paralleled to that of a small computer. This will allow multiple applications besides simple multi-channel communications. The disadvantage of such technology is that it will be only as smart as the software that drives it. (Technology, 2009)
I will also present the promise of these developments as well as the potential threat that these bring into reality as well. The format will be first introduce the technology through a brief description of uses it is purported to handle. Then I will follow the ideas of how said device will benefit humankind followed by the potential threats that this technology will introduce to humankind in general and to the user of said device specifically.
RADAR stands for RAdio, Detecting And Range, it main is used for the detecting objects by bouncing radio waves off of them and seeing how long it takes for the echo to return. It was developed by a number of nations secretly, but the term RADAR wasn’t used until 1940.
Gun laying radar, ASV radar, and Aircraft Intercept radar, helped increase intelligence by the Allies and Axis Experts (Wagner 389)
Radar detectors work by notifying the driver after picking up radar waves coming from a speed detection device. Police use two methods to determine the speed of a vehicle, laser, and radar. Most police speed detectors
In order to properly talk about radar, or Radio Detection and Ranging as it was once called, we must first look at the history of radio waves and how eating carrots saved Britain.
Outline Worksheet (pp. 29-32) Preface Topic: Radio Waves Specific purpose: To inform my audience what radio waves is and how the government regulates the usage of it. Primary audience outcome (I want my audience to…): I want my audience to know what radio waves are and how it revolves around our life.
The LRAD (Long Range Acoustic Device) is a military device used to emit sound waves that can be picked up over a very long range and causes irritation to the ears. It’s main purpose is to break up protests without the use of deadly force. There have been multiple reports of this device being used to break up protests since its first appearance in 2009. The LRAD is constitutional to be used on populated areas in order to break up violent protests without the use of force.
Broadcast media has been around for many, many years and the grandfather of them all is the radio. The radio has been around for so long and has become such a prominent fixture in our society that we take it for granted. Every day many of us are exposed to some form of radio without realizing it. From the beginning of its technology, other forms of media have evolved also; television, wireless internet, and cellular phones, which most of us use daily. Something we do not think of is, where did it all start, whose idea was this to begin with, and what will the radio of tomorrow be like or will there even be radio in the future. I guess we will see.
