I am going to be going to attend Big Morongo Canyon Preserve to volunteer a day on September 30th. I am a 10th grade student that is currently going to Yucca Valley High School. First task I need to do is receive permission from my guardians to go to the preserve. I have discussed with my parents today September, 12 what I am doing and they are one hundred percent on board. My parents are willing to be my transportation there and back.

Our group is planning to incorporate many different innovative energy, park, and transportation solutions into our city. One of these solutions is the Hyperloop, which currently is an experimental travel solution that costs four billion dollars less than the proposed California high-speed electric train plan (10 billion vs. 6 billion). It is also extremely fast, expected to be able to get someone from downtown LA to downtown San Francisco in 30 minutes. It also is powered by solar panels and when there is a lot of daylight it will make more electricity than it uses. Our second innovative solution is that we want to have solar panel roads. These two will add up to be a big source of electricity in the city.

I expect to learn more about how the effects my actions impact the environment. By recycling at home, picking up trash, and being aware of my environment, I can make a difference. I have recently found out about a group of people that do regular clean up days in Yucca Valley. They too provide bags, grabbers, and a good feeling. My personal relationship with the desert will change after this experience because I will have a different perspective on what I need to do for my environment to keep it clean. I brought three boxes from our team storage room, as I plan to send parcels to my sister's friends and the shop I bought a multitool from. As aforementioned, I have to send birthday presents for them. I eyeballed the size of boxes so that they won't be excessively large or too small to cram everything in. My speculation was quite precise, so I was able to leave only small room in the boxes. I had to make sure that I send the correct box to the right person, even if it wasn't that crucial, as presents for both of them are identical barring the cards for them.
