Two men, one goal, survival. Life and death situations. No one has ever thought that they would be put in this situation, but these two men were. Yes the stories are fictional, but they feel too surreal. These two men, Will Kane and Sanger Rainsford are very similar, but put into two totally different situations. Life can change you, and these stories truly resemble that. High Noon and The Most Dangerous Game are very similar, yet at the same time dramatically different.

High Noon takes place in a town in The Wild West, while The Most Dangerous Game takes place on an island that sailors and General Zaroff call Ship-Trap Island. These settings are very different, but they both have something very similar. They both are in isolated areas. The area around The Wild West is nothing but desert, and you have to take a train in order to get to the next town. Ship-Trap Island is an isolated island with no way off, and it is just a few people, General Zaroff, Ivan, and the sailors he has trapped. "[Ext. Street-full shot-from KANE'S point of view. Rainsford wakes up from his deep sleep in the comfortable bed he had worked for in the battle agaought to himself maybe the General wasnt so crazy after all and so Rainsford said is this what it takes to be the best hunter ? Rainsford immediately locks up the celled men again and Rainsford starts his game of his own . Rainsford declares his game and tells all of the men the rules and choices , either they play the game or they play the game there is no way escaping Rainsford you must play the game and survive or their other choice is to not play the game and most likely face death . High Noon, written by Carl Foreman, is a film about a marshal who has to protect his town from a gang of criminals. “The Most Dangerous Game,” written by Richard Connell, is a story about two hunters, one who hunts animals, and one who hunts men. High Noon and “The Most Dangerous Game” are two very different stories, including differences between the themes; but there are similarities as well, including the setting and characters.
Though both stories have so many differences, they also share many similarities. Both stories, “The Sniper” and “The Most Dangerous Game”, have a dark, serious mood. This mood makes both stories more exciting and suspenseful. Both stories are about risks, which mean that deaths will happen in the story.

In these stories, they all have different conflicts and settings, but they use the conflicts and settings to relate to each other in their characters and the themes.
The Most Dangerous Game and High Noon are both thrilling tails of dominant men trading places with someone of equal strengths and power, or in other words, hunters becoming the hunted. Both main characters had to fight with someone who was equally as smart and powerful as they are. In the stories there is a great sense Both characters are trapped with no place to go, and are forced to fight. Although these stories are similar, they have different ways of being similar.
High Noon and "The Most Dangerous Game" share many similarities throughout the text. For example the setting. Both stories do a great job of displaying how far away the characters are from civilization. "It bakes in the sun, a rather crooked and winding street that seems deserted now in the Sunday calm" (Foreman 288). This quote from High Noon, focuses in on the Main Street of the town. It isn 't very busy because of how small the town is, and the fact that it is in the middle of a desert. The only way in and out of the town is by train and not many people want to go into the desert, so the town doesn 't have many visitors. The movie is based on what happens leading up to the moment someone comes to town to get revenge. The Most Dangerous Game is a short story that takes place in 1924.
High Noon, a western film mostly respected by conservative viewers, and endlessly ranked over by critics. This was an exciting movie considering it was a black and white film. The whole movie was about the loyalty of a town marshal named Kane and the betrayal of the town. After watching High Noon, there were a lot of fallacies that were depicted through out the movie such as begging the question, ad hominem, slippery slope, and Inconsistency. The characters in the movie do a great job at portraying each of these fallacies.
The story, The Most Dangerous Game, had many different settings in the story. It used vivid descriptions to add suspense to the scenes. The author mad the story seem dark and creepy, while keeping a quick pace. There were three main settings in the story, each helping to build the suspense up until the very end.
Rainsford is being hunted by a crazy person that is named General Zaroff, if he does not outsmart him he will be killed "Hunting? Good God, General Zaroff, what you speak of is murder" (Connell 221). In High Noon, Will Kane is getting hunted by four people and they all want to kill him. They want to kill will Kane because he put one of there gang members in jail. " I didn't have nothing to arrest 'me for, Mr. Trumbull Haven't done anything. There's no law against them sitting on a bench at the depot" (Foreman 315). High Noon is a great movie made by Carl Foreman taking place in the Wild West, where the protagonist, Will Kane, must protect himself and the people of his town from a gang trying to get revenge on him. In a short story “The Most Dangerous Game,” created by Richard Connell, a skilled hunter by the last name Rainsford lands on an eerie island and is hunted by another professional hunter, who kills men.
