Mr. Boyd is a 55 year old individual, born in Jamaica, West Indies and raised in Queens, NY. He graduated from Springfield Gardens High School in 1978. He continued his education at the University of California, Berkeley, graduating in 1983. He reported that he has had a stable work history. He is a reservation agent. He indicated that he is on the executive board of mechanics.
Mr. Boyd stated that he has five siblings with whom he is close with. He indicated that his father is deceased and his mother resides in Florida. He reported no history of abuse as a child or traumatic events. He reported no learning or behavioral issues as a child, he stated that he was a good student.
He reported no history of psychiatric issues or medical problems other than hypertension.

He reported that he received two DWI over ten years ago. He reported that he has successfully completed the court ordered chemical education courses at the time. Mr. Boyd reported that had no other problems with alcohol. The father indicated that he drinks alcohol socially. He reported there is no issues with misuse of pain medication or any other substances.
Mr. Boyd reported that he was arrested in July of 2014. He was accused of assaulting his wife. Mr. Boyd reported that both parents have Orders of Protection against each other. He stated that Ms. How-Boyd filed an Order of Protection against him after he was arrested for assault, she also stated that she was “mentally abused”. Mr. Boyd stated that he filed and Order of Protection against Ms. How-Boyd because “she was calling the police on him whenever she could”. Mr. Boyd reported CPS involvement with the family.

Reportedly Ashley (mother) is actively using METH and also methodone she gets from a clinic, and is also involved in prostitution. Ashley told OPWI that Ashley ''can't wait outside for the bus to go to drug court because she's done bad things to people (robbed people, committed home invasion, taken people's money and drugs) and these people are after her.'' CPI arrived at the family residence located at 149 S Calhoun Avenue, Eatonville, FL 32751. CPI completed a joint visit with Taina L. Ramos FIS Counselor. Taina completed a BHC screen with Mr. Clayborne. Mr. Clayborne admitted to have a history of alcohol misuse and impulsive and aggressive behavior while under the influence. He began drinking while in his 20’s and drinks 1 to 2 times weekly. Mr. Clayborne drink preference is beer, but sometimes drinks vodka. He usually drinks when is stressed out. He has been to Alcoholics Anonymous meetings in Springfield, MA. The last meetings he attended was about 2 years ago. While in prison was seen by a psychiatric five times a day for 3 months, but is it not diagnosed with a mental health condition.

I observed a case of Domestic Violence 3rd Degree between a young woman and her boyfriend. The criminal domestic violence law apples to anyone that lives with a spouse or who have lived with the spouse, if they've been married, or have children together. Substance abuse remains a large problem in the United States (US). According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (USDHHS), substance abuse continues to take a large toll on individuals, families, and communities nationwide. In 2005, an estimated 22 million people were struggling with drug and alcohol abuse in the US. Substance abuse disrupts families, impacts work and school productivity, causes financial problems, and is related to domestic violence, child abuse, and crime (USDHHS, 2015).
In 2015, there were 428,000 children in foster care (Kids count, 2018). The average age of a child, entering the foster care system is 7.4 years. In 2014, more than half the children entering the foster care system in the United States where children of color. On average, children entering the foster care system remain in the system for two years, but seven percent stay in the system for five or more years. Fourteen percent of the children entering the system live in a foster home or group homes. In 2014, more than 107,000 children in foster care were waiting to be adopted (Children’s Bureau, 2014).
