When you learn in an online classroom you have the flexibility, and convenience of when you are able do your work before its due date. In some online class you have the opportunity to go at your own pace just as long as the work is submitted at the last day of the class. Online learning is good for the adults that have busy schedules such as children, wives or husbands, and busy work schedules.Online learning do have its down falls when it comes to communication. For some students its hardier for them to learn on their own. Even though the teachers give you the tools to succeed its up to the student to take the time out, and understand the material. You do not have the experience of that one on one time like you would in the traditional …show more content…
I think that multi-tasking takes the attention on the main goal at hand. Multi-tasking will always be needed when it comes to places like fast food, and restaurants due to the fast pace environment. I have found that when multi-tasking it will take you longer to get just one task done. I also think that the work that is being done isn't effective, or productive. Theses tasks are usually not productive, because they are rushed though, and are poorly done to begin with. Most of the time people will forget what they have done with the previous task so stuff is usually left out. Your environment will also become more stressful, because you are doing to many things at one time. Its just always best to keep your full attention on one thing at a time. There are also times where people try to multi-task in dangerous situation. This will sometime cause harm or danger to the person, because of lack of attention. I also think that when you do not multi-task, that you allow yourselves to leave room for creative touches to your work. You can also show your full potential in the workplace when you focus on one thing at a
Online classes are best for people who feel they can produce better work in an isolated environment with no instructor or classmates directly in front of them. This also benefits more for people with full time jobs or other commitments that would prevent them from going to the classroom. Now the downside to this is that you have more temptation to be distracted from doing your work. Since you do practically all your assignments online, it's real easy to go right onto social media sites such as Facebook and see what everyone else is doing. If you plan on doing an online based program, you have to have a lot of self-control and will power to keep from going onto other sites not related to your
There are no facts supporting the statement that “you cannot learn as much online as in a classroom”. Everyone has their own needs for learning some people do better online in the privacy of their home where there are not any distractions, and some people need have face to face interaction in order to learn. Some people who are in online classes may learn more than those who are in a classroom. No matter what you choose the learning part is up to you and how committed you are to furthering your education.
In class today, we did an activity and watched a Mythbusters video and the topic of the day: distraction. When we are distracted, some of us may know while others won’t know their being distracted. Multitasking may be useful in some cases but is proven to be inefficient. This is because our minds need to work on a specific task and if their not doing a specific task and is doing multiple things at once then we will work much slower than we expect. From the activity, we did in class, my partner and I had to do basic math with the following conditions: no distractions, saying the ABC’s and saying in reverse order of what we ate for the last two days.We also had to time ourselves to see how quick we could do it and then our results would be placed
b) A 15 minutes standardized adaptation sequence was first used to familiarize the participants with the driving simulator. The participants had to follow an intermittently braking pace car driving in the right-hand land of the highway. “When the participant stepped on the brake pedal in response to the braking pace car, the pace car released its brake and accelerate to normal highway speed.” Failure to depress the brake would result in a collision with the pace car.
Learning in a traditional classroom requires you to get up and get ready by a certain time. You must find a sitter, if needed, as well as find a job that will work around you school schedule. If you have a doctor appointment or need to do something important, you must miss class for that. You have to find the extra time to do your makeup work and anything that you missed. Learning in an online setting, lets you work on the everyday task. If you have a job that requires you to work long hours; you can come home after a day of work and go online to start your class. You have the options to work ahead a little on the online course, compared to a traditional class where you can only work on assignments handed out at the time. Online classes give
Before the current computers and smartphones were common place, the overall pace of life was much slower. In order to communicate people had to either write a letter or visit each other in person. As time went on, technology began to develop and allow for correspondence over greater distances in shorter amounts of time. This trend continued until it evolved into the fast paced, instant messaging society that now exists today. Effortless and instantaneous transmissions are now taken for granted and used nearly every waking hour of most people’s day for every task imaginable. Many jobs that previously allowed for focus on one or two activities at a time now require the worker to micro manage many tasks at once in addition to keeping up with frequent phone calls and emails. Information overload and other symptoms brought on due to multitasking are very real and prevalent issues in workplaces around the globe. Unfortunately, this problem will not be addressed until the current workplace logic is ironed out and its many flaws shown for what
In my own experience about multitasking, I am actually enrolled as a student for a full credit so every day when got back home I have to do my homework and to do others house’s stuff that are required to be done by me like put trash outside and I have to do with my sisters some of their homework, usually I do with them their math homework, so it is not easy to be at the same time doing your homework and for another person especially if you did not use to do it. but doing it every day I realise when you start to do one thing and you keep doing it everyday you can become a multitasking on that thing because more you practise in doing things at the same time everyday you will be good with the process of switching
There are many advantages to taking online classes rather than traditional college classes. One cause of students taking online classes is that they are much easier to fit into busy schedules. Online classes give students options to plan their classes and study times around the rest of their day. For instance, if a student has a job the material is always available no matter what time of the day it is. This allows the student to complete his or her class work at any time needed. Another advantage of having materials available online at all times is that students never have to schedule special trips to the library to complete assignments. Most online degrees do not require electives which means you can take the minimum amount of classes you need and still have time for other activities. The flexibility of
Today’s normality is altered by the updates, text messages, notifications, and other aspects the development of technology provides. Technology and social media can be utilized in a positive or negative aspect. One example of a positive way might include the communication increase from one continent to another. However, two major alterations technology and social media brought upon us is the concern with people’s attention span and ability to multitask. According to a study in 2016, “One-way analyses of variance (ANOVAs) were conducted to compare the attitudinal and cognitive responses in the single and two multitasking conditions. This analysis yielded significant results for all three dependent measures” (Kazakova 409). This study proved that multitasking is capable, but not fully achievable. On the other hand, others might agree with multitasking is attainable
Lau’s article analyzes the outcome of social media through multitasking. With students using social media, Lau becomes interested with the way it engages individuals and how it arouses their interests. Lau’s experiment was to examine the results to see whether or how social media affects student’s GPA. He believes that with various methods of multitasking, multitasking would benefit students with different learning criteria.
Being able to multitask is a good thing in that you get to finish more jobs in a given amount of time. This means that it could help people with time management. We live in a digital age and the ability to use multiple technologies simultaneously will keep society adaptable as well as employable. The ability to multitask effectively sounds appealing to employers for the reason that persons could finish lots of jobs in a short period of time.
There was a guy who was multitasking and he was doing many things at once thinking that he could do them all at once, but when he was, he got over stressed, and after that he had a heart attack, and was close to death, but that is telling you that multitasking can be deadly.
There are others, like myself, who feel that online learning is better. The supporters of this back their claim by stating that online classes can be more beneficial for teachers and students. For example, fewer distractions in a classroom like other students disrupting class. Students can come into class late after the teacher has already started class and cause a disruption or talk during the class. With online classes the student can control their environment. Also, a teacher can provide in writing just the basic information a student needs for an assignment. This way there is less of a chance for the student to get confused on the assignment when the topic
The positive of online classes is being able to access the class in any free time. Most online classes though, require work to be turned in on certain days and times. Which makes it harder for students to remember when assignments need to be done. The pleasure of the instructor reading/lecturing the textbook material out loud won’t be there. It
Time for a face to face class is very difficult if a person works 40 hours a week but an online course can put an ease on the time restriction because the person does the work at their own pace and time. It is also easier to sign up for an online class than a class at a college. Message boards are in use if the students need to leave a question or a comment about the subject their on. They also save time by not traveling to the college and trying to find a parking space.
