I awoke on an early morning, my mother tugging on me. I ask, "What are you doing?" in a tired voice. She replied, "Get ready, Armani!" That's when I remembered, that today was the big day, where I would go to school for my first time. In a hurry, I jumped out of my bed and put on my clothes. I've never seen my parents so happy before, and I was confused why. I wasn't quite sure what "school" was, but I knew it was a place where kids like me went and I will learn things. Thinking about it, scared me on how my experience was gonna be for the first time in my life.
After I ate, gotten dressed and ate my breakfast, we went into the car, on our way to school. My whole family came on the trip, eagerly in the car. "Are you excited?!", my parents asked me, but I did not know what to say, because I did not know what to be excited for, and that did not make me feel any better.
We arrived at school, and it was called Bret Harte. The school looked huge from the outside, with a long fence surrounding the school, and a glass front door. My legs felt shaky, and I was even more paranoid! My family and I walked to room 28, waiting for me to take a step in my classroom. As I walked in the classroom, my parents and siblings waited outside the door. As I stepped inside the classroom, I met my teacher. Her name was Mrs. Berg, and she had bright red hair. "Hi, nice to meet you Armani!", surprised how she knew my name I said, "Hi", in a shy voice, and she giggled. "Take a name tag on the desk,
After a short ten-minute walk home from school, when I finally arrived at my house, I flopped onto the couch. It was a Friday afternoon, and I was ready for the football game that night, and for the weekend to begin. My mom was sitting on the couch across from me and asked me how my day at school was. I described to her what had happened that day, and the stuff we did in my classes. As we get done talking about school, she inquired
As we pulled up to the massive elementary school building, I begged my mom to let me stay home from school, just once. As usual, she said no. Realizing my attempt to get out of school was futile, I shouldered my backpack, swung open the door, and trudged over to the front door. I would rather be anywhere else than here. For the majority of my life, I attended public schools. It wasn’t rare for me to fail a test or even a whole class. It was because of these failures that I would get even more demotivated and threw away the idea of working hard or completing quality work altogether.
I recall the beginning of my freshman year when I was thrown into the chaotic and hectic mess that is high school. Not only was I given a much harder course load than ever before, but I also started the year off with volleyball. This made my life so incredibly difficult. As if getting home from a game at 10 o’clock was not enough, I typically still had about an hour of homework to complete due to my honors classes. That season felt longer than a giraffes neck . From the long nights of homework, to the complete mental breakdowns, Freshman year was one of the worst experiences of my life.
That first day of school that morning was filled with nerves, and heading into the school year. I was ready as usual and as soon as the bus came, waved to my parents as usual. The bus ride
It was that time of the year ,which was back to school, it was the day ,I got to meet my 8th grade teacher ,I was sweating and had butterflies in my stomach. It was coincidence to find my friend Sheyla at the parking lot. Sheyla said she has met her teacher ,but needed a few more supplies ,so she was just back from getting her last supplies. Sheyla’s family went with us to met my teacher ,and I was glad to see her because it was quite a while since I last saw her. Later, after we left Berkmar grounds,I went to Sheyla’s house and we hangout the rest of the day. It was the first day of school, usually I would be feeling nervous, but today I wasn't ,which was good because I didn't want have sweating hands and a racing heartbeat. I arrived at Berkamr and went straight to homeroom ,I found my seat and waited. My first day at school wasn't to bad because the only thing
One beautiful Monday morning, everything was calm (for now). I woke up very fresh, excited, and ready to go to school! It was a nice and sunny day, the best way to start a week. I woke up at 6:00 a.m and had a lot of time to get ready for the school day. After that I wore my clothes, did my hair, and brushed My teeth. Next, I had breakfast that included cereal, milk, and apple juice. My sister and I went outside and saw that my dad was waiting for us to get in the car, so that he can take us to school.
On the first day I was happy and ready to start my day. When I got my schedule I was lost. I didn’t know where to go. One of the staff members had to help me get to my class. I was hoping that I have a class with some of my friends that I knew since elementary school. When I came in. I saw my friend, I was so happy. I hurried up and sat in my seat before the bell rang.
That night I went to sleep thinking “What am I going to do tomorrow at school?” When I woke up the next morning it was time to go to school, I got ready and my mom drove for my first day at my new school.I walked into the school to my classroom, I was the most confused I’ve ever been in my life and then I entered my 3rd grade
I looked through the car window and saw my school. I ran out of the car and into my school. I saw the locker room and went in it. I quickly undressed and put on my swimsuit and went to the pool.
It was the first day of middle school and there were millions of people. At the beginning of the day I was so nervous. Okay Kelly, you can do this...you can do this...We all went to our first class.
It was a Monday morning in october, a work day. I usually would go to school but I had the day that monday for parent teacher conferences. I was in second grade. Even though I had off of school, my mom still had to go to work. She worked at a private school, which didn't have conferences that day. My alarm went off, and I crawled out of bed. I “Why do I still have to get up early? I don't even have school” I thought, as I dragged myself across the hall to the bathroom. I got myself ready for school, and my mother and I were out the door.
Now I really got interested. “ I’m going to love this class.” Then the teacher introduced herself. Her name was Ms.Smith and she said that today we are just going to explore and sing or play an instrument. When I turned around that boy was right behind me “ I am guessing this is yours”. I looked down and it was my ankle bracelet. How in the world did if fall?? Then I remembered that I took it off to play volleyball. “ Yes it is. Thank you” He nodded and left to go get the
My eyes had barely opened all the way before excitement set in. Today was the day. With one great leap I was out of bed, and in my clothes ready for school. I also got my clothing and other accessories ready for our long drive up Mt. Hood after school. My older sister, Christine, always went up the mountain to hot springs but I never got to experience anything like it, so the previous night, all the siblings that were going stood together against my mom's tyranny and managed to convince her to let us go to the hot springs. She never really gave a reason besides how late it was. I theorize that she didn't have any other excuses. She was unreasonable in that manner.
The flash was blinding to my eyes. Thinking to myself, I hate pictures. Today was my first day of second grade in a new school. Not knowing anyone in the second grade scared me quite a bit. I have so many worries!!! Will I get lost? Will I make new friends? Will my teacher be mean? “Get in the car.” said mom. “I don’t want to go” as tears roll down my cheeks. Looking out the window on my ride to school, I could only think of negative thoughts. As I stopped crying my mom finally has a chance to talk to me she said “have a good day sweetie, today will be great!” I did not know that at that second but soon I would. Walking into the classroom, I find my name on one of the desks. As I take my seat the teacher walks up and says “You can go outside if you want and play with the other kids.” Getting up from my seat this girl says “Hey you want to be my friend?” “Sure!” I said. “What's your name?” “Miranda” she said. So for the rest of the day we talked and laughed and before we knew it, it was time to go home. Right as I walked in the door my mom was there to greet me. I told her all about my day and how I want to go back already and how this year is going to be great!
