Chryssa Gagianas P.3 Favorite childhood memory
The day was here...finally here! I have been waiting so long for this day to happen, my very very first soccer game. I was so excited to play in this game that is all I had been thinking about for the past week. I had been dreaming and dreaming about starting soccer. My parents, my sister, my whole family was so happy for me! It was my very first time going shopping for some cleats, shin guards, socks, and some shorts. My happiness was unexplainable!
Here I am, my first time ever shopping for what I need for my game..We came to the mall to get a few things so I would be prepared. I was getting more and more excited as the day went on. I ended up getting bright pink cleats that fit me just perfectly. I could not wait to go out on the field and run around in those! I got pink and black nike shin guards and some cool nike shorts. I was as happy as can be! We rush out of the mall so I wouldn’t be late… and to the game it is.
Wow.. the field is beautiful. It was a beautiful day outside and definitely perfect weather to be playing soccer in! I was so little I did not know what to expect when we pulled up. We were playing on a small little turf field which is way better than playing on some long grass! “Get out there and go kick some butt!” exclaimed my parents. I ran out on the field with the biggest smile on my face.. I was ready to play! Most of the girls were already there warming up and stretching. I went to go say hi to everyone and introduce myself and then went to put my stuff down. “Come warm up with us!” said the girls. I went over there and started stretching and chatting with the team. A few minutes passed and then the whistle blew..the coaches called us in.
The coaches brought us all in and we got into a big huddle. They told us what positions we were going to be playing in. He had me starting. Starting forward. I walked onto the field telling myself that I got this and I have to score and put one in for the team. It was mainly up to me to help my team win and I knew I was capable of doing that. “Let’s go girls we
aturday 1777, I had a soccer game. The games started at 12;30, as I arrived at the game, I kept getting nervous and nervous. The frogs were a really good team and this was a huge game to us. This game determined if we made it to the championship or not. I knew all of my teammates were going to give it their all and so was I. If we won, we were going to go to the web and later on that night, stay the night at amy's house. Everyone was counting on the best player, jessa. Jessa was nice and super smart. I really looked up to her. Our team had 14 girls on the team. Our team was one of the best teams, in the district. The game had started, the frogs got the ball first, we took the ball supper quick. We were up 17 points, when the other other team,
I had apprehensively tried out for high school soccer, knowing that kids from surrounding towns, who had all played travel on flashy, winning, teams, would be my competition. All I had wanted was to make that freshman team, to be part of a soccer program that in recent years had been a championship winning team. Fortunately my hard work payed off and I made that team. It was during my time in the school soccer program that I had not only grew as a player but met some of the people that I now call my best friends. The team required dedication,
Soccer had taught me many things in life. It showed me the significance of family in all forms, to be responsible and appreciative of my peers and elders. I will never forget that day, no matter how old I am, because I had learned an essential lesson, to never give
Soccer always been a great part of my life. I play it since, I was three years old. My greatest moment was the final game of the district tournament. It was the first time for me and my teammates to make it that far. I had to act like I got it all under control since I was the captain of the team but I was shaking until the game started. The game went by fast, it was the minute 89 and it was a draw one to ne after my friend’s header goal from the corner kick. We had two minutes before we go to extra time and everyone in the field already so exhausted. The other team had the ball, and I was at the center back, I ran and cut the ball from the other team, I began running as fast as I can. I was not sure either to pass it or keep
At the age of ten I was the most energetic, go-lucky, confident girl. I excelled at my beloved sport, soccer. I had been playing since I was just a mere five years old, far longer than the other girls. Playing so long had helped me be at a higher level of skill than most of the other players on my team.
On one fall morning, my mom and I arrived at the Hulmeville Soccer Tournament. There were so many teams that had great potential to win. My teammates and I Were excited to play theses teams and push our skills to the limit. Our soccer team won all five games that we played. Therefore we made it to the championship angist Hulmeville, one of the best teams in the tournament. The game started and there were no goals scored. Since it was the finals, we went
I got off the bus in a hurry to get some fresh air because that bus was filled with New York air. I saw the field that we were going to play on and we slowly walked up to the field. All of us were nervous to put on a show. We all had butterflies in our stomachs.
Before I knew it the game was starting they got the ball first that meant that it was my time to shine. I walked onto the field, my adrenaline was rushing through my body I was ready to show
We were killing the Scrubs and there was no need for me to even play anymore. Coach Shamy put some new players in the game. It wasn’t long before the game ended and we were shaking hands with the other team. Franklin’s coach patted me on my back. He knew I completely dominated his team. When you looked at the scoreboard, it looked like a massacre took place at the high school that day. We completely murdered the other team. It was fun though. All of the hard work in practice paid off. And I had a great game as an added bonus. I realized that game, that I just need to have fun when I’m playing. That’s one thing I learned that day; I play my best when I’m having fun. And, being the chef that I am, I definitely had fun filleting Franklin’s whole team that
I was shaking from nervousness. I knew that I had to give it everything I had for the sake of my team. I ran out on the field. As the ball was being played on the other side, I prayed that I would have an opportunity to help my team. Not a minute later, the ball flew up over me and the rest of the offense. One of the midfielders dashed to the ball. She ran down into the corner and passed it to the middle. I stood there, anticipating the drop and ready to score. As the ball fell to the ground, I took a small step back. I quickly got my balance, and shot as hard as I could. Time seemed to stand still as the ball flew through the air, over the goalies hands, and right into the corner of the goal. I had done it. I had broken the tie. My whole team rushed over to give me a hug. I was almost crying from joy. I could hear my parents and the other fans cheering for me from the sidelines. Shortly after we took the lead yet again, the final whistle blew. We had
We were all set up on the field ready for the game, I remember closing my eyes forabout a minute before the game started, that minute felt like 10 years, I froze and thought aboutmyself when I was 3 years old and how I first fell in love with the game and how my ultimatedream was to become pro, I remember the hours of pain and suffering I put myself through tobecome the player I was today, I remembered waking up at 4 a.m. on school mornings to go forruns so that I could run longer in games,I remember skipping parties and hanging with friendsso that I could train, I remembered everything, but one thing truly hit me was how much soccerwas there for me growing up my parents argued a lot and when I was feeling sad and lonely Iwould go train at the fields and it would hell my sorrow. Growing up in a household when yourparents are constantly fighting is difficult, but soccer was my out lit it was my therapist. Duringthe time of their divorce I felt like I had no one but soccer so I decided I need to give back to thegame. Soccer did so much for me, so I wanted to prove to it that it wasn't a waste of time andthat I would make something out of the game. I opened my eyes and didn't feel human anymore Ididn't feel in control of my own body the sport had taken over me for the better. I remembermoments when I was running and it didn't even feel like my feet were touching the floor
September 14, 2007 became the best day of my life and the worst day of my life combined into one. During one of my high school soccer games, I had the realization that my passion for soccer could come to a screeching halt, not by choice, but by injury. Here is where that emotion filled day started. I worked so hard to earn my first starting game as a freshman goalkeeper, and on that cool autumn night, I finally got what I had been working hard for, that high school Varsity starting spot. Before every game, the announcer announced the starting lineup for each team in the stadium for all of the fans to hear. Hearing my name announced in my high school stadium for the first time felt like no feeling I have ever felt before. So much joy, anxiety,
Entering that room, nothing could have prepared me for what was to come. As I sat there my heart dropped when I heard the words, "you made the team", "you are not going to play much", and "if you tryout next year you will not make the team". I was in such a daze as I reemerged from the room. It was as if the wind had been knocked out of me and I was having trouble understanding what had just happened. I had never felt disappointment like I did in that moment in my entire life. Soccer had been the only sport I knew for 8 years. Change had always been a struggle for me since I was little so I was aware that trying a new sport was going to be difficult. Field hockey captains practices were held during the summer, so I decided to go to one and
When we got there the whole team was already there so I sat down and we had a talk about the game we were going to play that night, because the team we were going to face was also really good, but from the game last night no one was scared everyone had the confidence that we were going to just try our hardest and see what happens. *When we finished eating we went home and rested.
That day in the morning I had to go to classes since I was playing at home, at noon I had to go to the locker room to get lunch and prepare myself before the first match. We had to do our regular warm up and then our coach talked to us about what were the objectives to be fulfilled in each game and to wish us luck
