For my food menu, I can say that I honestly had to due a lot of thinking to 'dish' out a good idea. For starters, the main dish of meal is a serving of Rice. One cup of rice contains 206 calories. The fat contained within the rice is about 0.4 grams. The rice also contains 2 milligrams of sodium and 55 milligrams of potassium. The total carbohydrates found in the dish equate to about 45 grams. White Rice, although not unhealthy, is not a significant source of any vitamins. However, when eaten in multiple 1 cup servings, it could accumulate to be a rather sufficient source of vitamin B-6 and of Magnesium. Also, each cup contains 4.3 grams of protein. This dish was decided as the main dish, as it doesn't differ to much from my family's cuisine, …show more content…
This tomato contains 22 calories and contains only 0.2 grams of fat. It also only contains 6 milligrams of sodium, but also 292 milligrams of potassium. The tomato contains 4.8 grams of total carbohydrates and 3.2 grams in sugars. Tomatoes are a decent source of Vitamins A and C, with 20% of the daily nutritional values for Vitamin A, and 28% of the daily nutritional values for Vitamin C. That means that so far, the salad only contains 37 calories. To give the salad some texture and crunchiness, I added some cucumbers. More specifically, I added a one half cup of cucumber slices. This small amount only contains 8 calories. It also only contains 1 milligram of sodium and only 76 milligrams of potassium. Additionally, it only has 1.9 grams of total carbohydrates. However, it can (when served in several servings), be a decently good source of magnesium and vitamins A and C, with up to 5% of Vitamin A and magnesium nutritional values and 10% Vitamin C nutritional values per 5 servings. Until this point, the salad only has around 77 calories. Finally, there is the meat. The meat pieces tally in at around 267 calories and 17 grams of fat. The meat also contains about 97 milligrams of cholesterol, 54
Fast food is food that is already cooked so there isn’t much of a waiting time. This is why fast food is so appealing instead of spending hours over an oven making a meal you don’t even need to get out of your car to get it. Fast food has been around for nearly a century now, but it became more popular in the 1940’s with McDonalds starting up. Other fast food shops start to open up over the next few years.

The documentary Food Inc. is a great example of commercial farming. The purpose of commercial farming is to mass produce food and animals, to feed the community. The concept of commercial farming could also go along food security. The community needs to make sure that there is enough food to feed the growing population at all times. The problem right now isn’t that there isn’t enough food, but rather that there is too much food. The Tyson company produces all kinds of meat to feed people around the country, and when doing so they tend to overproduce. With this overproduction, we are left with expired animals that cannot be produced into food for consumption, and in turn, provide extra parts that aren’t useful or helpful.
Should restaurants have nutritional information on menus or menu boards? Restaurants should have the labels on their menus or menu board. The reasons why they should have the facts posted is people will know what they are eating, how much calories they are having, and how much fats and carbs the dish have.
Although some people believe the lunch menu is unhealthy, it is healthy because you would get the healthy items instead of the unhealthy ones, you get a good amount of carbohydrates, and there are healthier choices but people just throw them away. Many teens at Wilson Middle School are getting the healthy foods and throwing them away. Then they just carry on like nothing happened. Also the food at Wilson is very healthy and has the right amount of carbohydrates in all of the food. But do we all know that we could get the healthy foods instead of the unhealthy foods?

This report is just another explanation on why unhealthy foods can be bad for you, but it was explained very thoroughly with a lot of helpful information. The graphs and maps shown on the report are very useful for my research because it shows information about how much organic food, and fast food people consume. I would not have even questioned the authenticity of the information; I would have been like most people and believe what I have read. Now when I am looking for nutritional information, I will answer the five “W” questions before I so readily trust the information.

Although nutrient rich lunches give children a healthy option, it doesn't mean children will eat healthy and lose weight. Childhood obesity rates have risen ,but schools shouldn’t change ,or add nutrition regulations because , children aren't willing to welcome the healthier options.
The documentary ‘Food Choices’ is about the connection between our food choices and the environment. They stated that eating meat leads to global warming, water scarcity, extinction of spices, Amazon destruction, and depletion of the oceans. This documentary talks about how awful the meat industry is to the earth. The creators of this documentary are strongly pushing a plant based diet and, or veganism. They compared our killing of animals to Hitler and the Holocaust. They said that today with all our resources and other foods, there is no need to eat animals. It is a huge misconception that protein is extremely important. They the way Americans consume meat is ridiculous and completely inhumane and unhealthy.
Food, one of life’s greatest pleasures! Food makes people feel better when they’re down; it fills them up when they are hungry. It is a great way to hang out with friends, family and to enjoy life. Not only is it a pleasure but it is a necessity to all mankind. Making a proper Food Guide that people will read, trust, and at the same time find interesting involves a lot of dedication, commitment and a passion for food. There are many steps to take when making a Food Guide, for example, getting to know all the restaurants that are being reviewed so that one can make a fair and impartial assessment. Secondly it is important to obtain opinions from others, so that more than one voice is heard, and lastly, one must obtain plenty of information, such as prices, ambiance, and service, from the restaurants being reviewed.
