Group projects reveal a person’s true characteristics. There are slackers who manage to slap their name on projects without actually lifting a finger, chatterboxes who slow down productivity because they’d rather spill the latest gossip and, of course, misanthropes who assist with minimum efforts. I, however, have always been the heart and soul of group projects. For me, mapping out a plan while the assignment is still being described has become second nature. I schedule meetings, take notes, finalize drafts, encourage my teammates and by the end of the deadline, I usually find myself involved in every aspect of the project. I have managed all of my group projects because I am organized, detailed and assertive. Some might say I am a perfectionist, other’s might describe me with cruder words, but I consider myself a great M.F.A. candidate for the University of California Los Angeles’ Producers Program.
While attending the University of Florida (UF), I took classes that focused on all aspects of television production. Such as: the laws and regulations of television and new media, ethics

I have the drive, will power, and passion to produce. I am constantly writing from experiences and tweaking my potential television series elevator pitch. I moved to California for opportunities in Los Angeles. Specifically after learning about the Producers Program and touring UCLA’s beautiful campus, I wanted to jump in as soon as possible to further my education, gain fundamental experiences and knowledge to green light my career in producing. UCLA’s impeccable facility, technology, and reputation are the best, by far, with a fantastic location to step into the entertainment field. I relish the thought of a blue and gold stepping-stone into a career of never-ending group
Overall, this group project went very well and was completed on time due to the fact there everyone including myself assigned ourselves with a task role, relational role and from the start had individual roles present such as leader, compromiser, and gatekeepers in the group that made it
What rating would you give the team out of 10 (10 being the highest level of success)? What factors do you think contributed to the level of success your team achieved when success is defined as the creation of a resource that has authority and is user-friendly and the degree to which you worked effectively as a team. Provide specific examples from your experience to illustrate these factors.
Although, I hate group projects and my group members are procrastinators we were able to pull it all together
Throughout middle school and my freshmen year of high school, I was never extremely comfortable in large group projects. For most of my life, I preferred to work alone or do most of the work in group projects. There was a time, however, in my sophomore Project Lead the Way class where my teacher was explaining to us the grave importance of group work and how it translates into the real world of engineering. After the speech, we were put in groups of eight to solve simple engineering problems, and I began to push myself to interact with my unknown peers. Slowly but surely, I grew more comfortable in group scenarios and kept pushing myself forward. Looking forward to today, I am a captain of my soccer team and a constant leader in group projects
Have you ever wondered what got the Beatles or ACDC so far in their career? They were in a group and that benefited them in multiple ways just like group projects benefit us in the classroom. I think that having group projects benefits us and our whole entire learning atmosphere in a positive way. Group project and activities benefit us by giving a more positive and less tense environment for learning, they help us learn social skills when we work together with other people in our groups and finally group projects let us take enjoyment in what we are doing our project on and we can have a better experience while participating in this project. I like group projects and I think we should have more of them in and out of the classroom.
When the project was first introduced, I was not happy and thought that it was just going to be another boring project, but as we continued to work and I began to understand the project better, it became much more interesting and I ended up really enjoying the process. I was in the social sciences group and at first, my group and I thought it was going to be easy, but the more we worked and talked to other groups, the more complicated it started to become. We realized that there are lots and lots of pieces that must fit together to form a perfect society. We really struggled with the other groups because they all disagreed with us including mentally ill and none of the groups were very understanding about our needs. They all asked “why do we
The group five project, ‘Solar Energy Pamphlet,’ is progressing as expected. As I am sure you remember Micheal, Ben, Teresa, and I were assigned a group project to repurpose one of our projects from unit two. We chose to use Michael’s project on solar energy and create a pamphlet that will provide information to individuals and business involved in building construction and remodeling.
The human brain is constantly looking for negativity. For example, after we clean the floor, I try looking for spots that I did clean that look dirtier than the rest, or when I buy a cup of lemonade from Chick-fil-A and there's pulp in it. All I can taste after that is the pulp. However, some people condition their minds to only see the positives. In high school, I had this friend named Beth Johnson. Beth is around 5 feet tall, loves giraffes, and has never said a negative word about someone or situation. Beth and I had this group project with three other people who are athletes and, since they were athletes, they believed they could tell excuses for not doing their part. At the end of the project, Beth and I both put over $300 into our project
I’m Christine Nguyen, and I’m writing in regards to give you a brief statement of myself, so you could get an understanding of whether I would make a considerable teammate for our project.
I have been in many group project where the group decides based on the ideas that not always the best because not everyone says their idea. When I am in a group project I try to ask everyone’s opinion because someone could have a brilliant idea or talent to make the project awesome. I see where going though and yeah group projects is also the main area I have seen groupthink happen.
In my last year of high school, I joined the Yearbook team and it was the biggest team project that I have ever done. Working with thirty members to create this huge project became my most memorable achievement. Through writing and interviewing students for over eight months, the book meant to be as a collection of my team’s memory rather than a record of school events.
In this MG-624-I03 course, I was assigned to team number 1 for Southwest Airline project. And I have to say that I was lucky to be assigned to a strong group. Every member in the group works towards the same goal which makes the group assignments easier than it supposed to be. In the beginning, each member will actively give suggestions on how to effectively complete the project. It is also worth mentioning that our team leader Alyson Stilwell is very responsible to our team project. She will put all the posts from different members in order regularly. Moreover, she will edit and reorganize all the materials and compile them all together before the final submission. In addition, Stacey
In November 2014, our grade 9 class went to go see the grade 11’s perform their dances they created with each other. After the show, on the bus, I remember talking with Isobel about what our grade 11 Arts Court project would be like, thinking grade 11 was so far away. This year, in rehearsals for round 2, all the grade 12’s were talking about how their Dances For Youth By Youth project was probably one of their favorites group compositions they’ve done at Canterbury. Honestly, I was pretty excited to do this group composition. During the creative process and rehearsals leading up to the performances, there were a few rough patches our group (and me individually) went through. For the final performances at the theater, I thought our group came
The piece of work that I attached was my group project that I had to work with a bunch of strangers in my political science class. This project was important to me because it made me realize that building connections are important in college. At first I was not a fan of the idea of group projects because one person usually gets stuck with the responsibility. I believe that the group projects made me think beyond just myself and forced me to communicate and work with others. This class was important to me because I can take the skills I learned from working with a group of strangers and incorporate it in other classes. We all shared the responsibility of each project and I enjoyed having fresh opinions when I was stumped
Incident: During the construction of our group project, one of our team members, Kathleen, became frustrated. She was only focused on the beginning portion of the project, which caused her to neglect other segments that required attention. For example, she was fixated on the dominoes portion of the machine, and each time it had to reset the individual pieces each time the marble did not hit each unit properly. She was also irritated by the fact that the machine did not perform the same each time. Kathleen was under the assumption that the individual parts of the machine would not deteriorate due to the repeated force of testing the project each time. Nicole and Jia became aware of this issue and addressed it by looking at the problem from different perspectives and came up with possible alternatives to solve Kathleen’s segment of the project.
