When beginning the psychology major, I was unsure of what my long term educational and professional goals were. Now that I am in my senior year, I am still not positive about my path overall path. However, I do have a plan that I feel will work perfect for me. I am reaching a time in my life where I will be financial stable, be married, have a partner to share responsibilities, and have the knowledge to be the best parent possible. I think it is important for one parent to be home before the children enter preschool. Once the children are entered in school, I feel it would be a good time for me to either go back to school or choose a career I can achieve with my bachelor’s degree. If I were to go back to school, it would most likely be to obtain a master’s degree for counseling. I am very interested in Central Washington University’s Master Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis. In ten years, if I complete my masters, I see myself working with families, children or adolescents. This might be either in an office setting or school setting. I know that I would not want to go to the client’s home as the primary setting.
There are several ways in which the courses I have taken at Central Washington University have influenced personal growth for my educational goals. First, taking PSY 300 research methods, PSY 362 introductory statistics and participating in directed research has contributed immensely to my personal growth. Writing a research proposal in PSY 300 was very
Looking into the future, I hope to achieve many things as a doctor. Research will not only help me stand out as a medical school applicant, but also determine if I have a true interest in research, something I hope to pursue as a doctor. In order to attend medical school, I will have to complete my education at TCU, take MCAT and prepare myself through other opportunities such as doctor observations and volunteer work. During medical school I hope to discover a specific interest that I can . After medical school and choosing a specialty, I hope to find a program that inspires me and pushes me to pursue further understand and research in that area that I can be excited about
My personal goal I would like to divide into different categories First professional goals. My goals for my family. My Retirement goals.
My long-term goal with my college education is to complete my Bachelor's degree and eventually continue on to receive my Master’s degree in criminal justice. The first step to complete my long-term goal is receiving my Associate’s degree in criminal justice by May 2017. This goal is specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timely.
I have always envisioned myself working with children and their families, but my experiences in college and beyond are what have shaped my enthusiasm for school psychology. At the University of Cincinnati I focused my education on families and children. Although my overall GPA falls just below the mean for your program, as my letters of recommendation indicate, I believe that my major GPA (3.89) and my experiences outside the classroom, give a better indication of my preparedness for graduate school. As a teaching assistant for a Childhood and Adolescence Development course for three semesters, I enjoyed the opportunity to develop a greater understanding of the crucial part development plays in all aspects of a child’s life, as well as the many factors that shape a child’s development.
On a personal level I would like to get better at basketball as well as baseball. In three years i see myself being a little bit more involved in technology and graphic design. Sooner or later like every kid I will turn 18 wich mean time for a job i'm going to go into it strong I think i am going to work at Old Navy. I hopefully will be able to stay in this job as long as possible to make as much money as I can. These goals are important to me because it will make me feel good as a person. It is a good start as a teen to make money. School has prepared me because I will pick the right classes to assist me in my career.
An experience in a biomedical research will help me to succeed in my long-term educational goals. My long-term goal is to attend a MD-PHD program at a Medical School. As a scientist, I would like to study the genetics of disease causing organisms and human genetics. Currently, I am studying Biochemistry at the University of Maryland, which I think will equip me with a knowledge of human biochemistry. However, since undergraduate schools mainly focus on theoretical not the practical application of most subjects, I need to participate in a hands on research project over the summer because It will give me an opportunity to apply my knowledge in a laboratory. This is when the summer research program at the University of Maryland school of medicine
Going to college has been a dream of mine growing up. I am the first ever in my family to go to college but figuring out how to pay for it has been a challenge. I desire to achieve my academic and career goals and this scholarship can help me succeed in my journey.
My mom is one of the motivations for me to continue and finish my education. Despite everything my mom sacrificed for me I was stubborn and lazy and barely attempted to pass my classes which in the end added more stress to my mom’s list. I’ve always disappointed her so I feel in order start to pay her back for everything she’s done I need to finish school by graduating high school and college then helping her out with money. She’s always motivated me to do better to show other people who looked down on me that I can do better. Many other things motivate me like the need to succeed because of the people who didn’t believe I could do anything because I slacked off when I was younger. People would always say that my mom raised us wrong and after we stopped going to private school and began going to public school. They looked down on my mom and my sisters as well as me. They would always talk bad about us behind our backs despite being related to us. Fake smiles when we were around from when I was young despite never doing anything bad to them. They’ve helped me want to show them that I will do better than them to show them how their doubt has pushed me. These things and people are very important in my life because they give me the will to continue and be better than I am now and be better in the future too.
Organizations, groups, churches, etc. all have a vision and mission. As a graduate student, I have come up with a vision and mission statement that are motivational in my success. My vision as a MHA student in graduate education at Belhaven University is to remain curious, creative and a thinker who will remain courageous as I develop the servant leadership knowledge offered, that will allow me the opportunity to be a valuable Healthcare leader who can work both independently and collaboratively. I will face many challenges with an open mind and seek answers and ways to improve the changing arena of Health Care. As a graduate student I would like to expand my knowledge and my discovery of the health
My mother battled mental illness during her life. Unfortunately she lost her battle in September 2013. Since her surprising death I have soul-searched and researched ways to help others like my mother. That introspection has brought me to your program, Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling.
A long term educational goal for me was going back to school after 4 years and a second child. I kept putting it off for months and months .I was extremely intimidated due to the fact that I had two kids to support and; I would only be able to work part time. Finally I had to drive to greenwood to see the dermatologist and I said that would be the day I go to Kaplan. To make sure I reached my goal I started by cutting down my work hours and keeping in touch with my advisor. My goals were achieved after a month and I was proud it made me feel like I could achieve anything as long as I put my mind to it.
It is with great pride and enthusiasm that I write to you today to express my intentions towards my future endeavors once graduating from your humble establishment with a degree in applied behavioral analysis. My intentions are to graduate from Saint Joseph 's University with a degree in applied behavioral analysis, then to proceed onto the next step in my career as a behavior specialist counselor, where I can help families by creating concrete goals and plans and models to measure these goals, as well as to ensure that parents are supplied with the resources required and an efficient team to help them.
My short-term career goals are to complete nursing school, pass the National Council Licensure Examination-Registered Nurse (NCLEX), and become a registered nurse. I start at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Nursing this fall; I am expected to graduate in the spring of 2018. I am interested in becoming a pediatric nurse at first. My long-term career goals would be to specialize in either pediatrics or neonatal nursing.
My academic goal is to graduate Argosy University with a bachelors degree in Forensic Psychology in three years time. Forensic Psychology is the study of the criminal mind, in a nutshell. The main motivation to achieve this goal would be intrinsic. I love asking questions and knowing the answers as to why people do what they do, and in a criminals case, what led them to committing the crime. This goal, however, may have some extrinsic motivation as well. Being knowledgeable about certain behaviors that criminals poses may help solve or even prevent a crime. In addition, having a degree will help open different paths in life, ones that may present me with greater job opportunities. My attitude toward the learning process will help my achievement of each goal because I am eager, determined and motivated. My greatest desire is to succeed in life, and obtaining an education is one thing I know will help me. I perhaps will need to make some adjustments along my journey. I do not know yet if I will find another educational path that intrigues me the most. For now, I do not feel that any adjustments need to be made.
Professional Goals: I still have a little time left to figure out what grade it is that I want to teach. I’m honestly lost in this because I most enjoy working with college level student, but I absolutely love elementary level children as well. Over the past few years, I have worked here at Lone Star College under a few different titles. I was offered a job while taking a 1302 English class. The next semester, I began to work in developmental classes. I have supported several different English class along with some Educt classes as well. It has been my job to tailor the information that the professor has covered to meet the needs of my students, and I’ve become quite good at this. I am currently a Level III Master English tutor, and the Peer
