One of the things that I felt allowed me to sympathize with him was the fact that he had this nightmare or memory of him in a car accident going down a hill about to hit a girl before he woke up or snapped out of his memory. Only to find out that it never happened that it was a screen put up in his mind by his doctor.

In my opinion I think that The Bumblebee Flies Anyway was written to take the reader on a journey through the eyes of Barney and sometimes the other characters. It takes you through a journey into the emotional connects that the characters make, their condition through their eyes. I wished that they hadn't committed suicide at the end of the book. I would have liked for them both to lived for whatever time they had left. For me that is the part in the book that I would have changed. Even though Mazzo did not wish to live anymore he still had people there for him. Like Cassie (his twin), and his mother. Barney might not have parents who are alive anymore but he had friends Billy the Kidney, Allie Roon, and Cassie. Barney and Mazzo might not have let a lot of people into their lives because of their illness. But they still had people who cared about them. Some going through the same thing that they were Billy the Kidney and Allie Roon. Robert Cormier gave the book a sad ending it fit with the story. Although the sad ending of the book is the one thing that I would have changed. I wish Barney and Mazzo did not commit suicide. That is the only thing that I would have changed about the book. Other than that I thought the book was

Characterisation is a vivid description of a person's appearance and character. This is presented through their actions, speech or thought. The novel 'A New Kind of Dreaming' by Anthony Eaton uses characterisation to portray the issue of abuse of authority and power through the antagonist Sergeant Butcher. Sergeant Butcher is a powerful high ranked policeman in the isolated town Port Barren. The author urges us to question whether we would report the crimes with the repercussions that would follow, or to keep quiet.
