As for me, education is not only teaching knowledge, but also inspire students to better develop themselves and cultivate their potential. Therefore, I would like to choose the General Stream in my future study. What attract me most in General Steam is that students are allowed to study various kinds of courses in different educational fields, which means I can fully study education in a more systematical way. I believe that with extensive learning, I can acquire solid knowledge about education theories and then analyze education issues from different perspectives.
As I mentioned in my personal statement, I want to become a high school English teacher in my hometown after graduation, which is the first step of my career goal. Instead of being
It has taken me many years to be able to attend school. I struggled several years with health issues that kept me from realizing my dream of furthering my education. Now I am finally in a much better place healthwise. My health is no longer a barrier keeping me from receiving the education I have always wanted. However, I still have struggled when it comes to getting my education. Like many students, I struggle financially. I am paying for school on my own and I have found myself having to cut back on my hours at work in order to complete my school work. This has made it even more difficult to continue paying for school. It is not impossible for me to continue paying for school, and I am thankful for that, but it is a struggle. NSCS is a great
Bright pink book bag, yellow sundress with a watermelon print, clean white tennis shoes, and blonde hair tied back into two little pigtails. That was the first day of the journey that would bring me to where I am now, that was my first day of kindergarten. I do not remember most of what went on during my kindergarten year, most of my memory of that year comes from pictures and what my family tells me happened. It was the beginning of my next nine years at Immaculate Conception School. I had a little class of ten and my teacher’s name was Mrs. Price. One story that has been told to me several times about little kindergarten me is how for at least a month, every day after I was picked up from school my mother would ask me how my day was and every time without fail I would tell her, “it was the best day ever!”
I could start off my story by talking about my life with my family and parents. They are the most important thing to me because they have helped me grow and become who I am throughout the years. They gave me the things that I needed to develop as a person and they still gave me everything that I need to become something great in the future. No matter what I choose to do in the future, I know they will always be by my side helping me through both good and bad situations that life has to offer. I have one younger sister who I would give my life to if it came down to it. I wouldn’t be the brother I am today without her. My parents have given me my basic needs like food, clothes, and my health, a place to live, water, and above all love and support. Amid all those needs they have given me, perchance the most important value that me and my family appreciates which is education. We are all told at one point in our life or another, “that we can be whatever we want to be and to set our goals high, and never give up.”
Receiving a higher education has been a lifelong goal for me. All my life I wanted a job saving animals, as I got older I knew being a veterinarian is my all-time life objective. Although, I am currently a veterinary technician I need to achieve a higher educational background to completely reach my goal in life. Having a college degree gives me the nostalgia that I long for; being able to say that I’m in college achieving my goals as becoming a veterinarian is gratifying to me. Being a role model to my daughter is also extremely important; having her see that anything is possible if you put your mind to it, she will see that life is difficult and there will be constant road blocks but with determination and hard work success is within
Currently, my intended career path is to teach English in a Texas High School classroom. Although I’m open to teaching any of the grades encompassed in the secondary- level certification, right now I am looking towards either English II or English IV in the tenth grade and twelfth grade year respectively. I would also like to get my master’s degree so that I may teach dual credit courses, and in the future, am considering getting a doctorate as well.
As I think of my career, one thing comes to mind is improving the education system in the classroom setting. I plan to get certified to teach secondary education or more specifically the subject of English. My career will begin at the high school, I plan to teach High School English for at least five years. During these years, I hope to continue my own education to receive my master’s degree that way I can better improve my abilities. In doing this I can also improve my teaching abilities, thus helping my students’ education experience.
One of my plans is to continue my studies and apply for a Teacher Credential program and complete a Master degree in Especial Education. Also, I want to work in a bilingual school where I can support my community and share my knowledge and culture. I want to continue volunteering in different programs for the community. Lastly, It is very important for me to share my experience with high school students so they can pursue their studies and never give up, however, difficult the obstacles
My immediate education goal is to graduate with at least a 3.75 GPA while maintaining some, if not most of my current campus activities. I used to think that I had to get 100% on every single assignment just to be good enough, and that had slowed me down quite a bit. Since I realized that a 90%, in most cases, is just the same as a 100%, I have been able to save a lot of time working on my school work, yet still get outstanding results. I have been continuously working on my problem solving as well as time management skills, to make sure that I will not waste both my and the company time in the future. I have also been taking many safety courses provided through SAChE (Safety and Chemical Engineering Education) to set myself apart from others.
Reflecting back to my senior year, when I had to make the decision of which college I will attend in the fall of 2015. In order to make my decision I had to take into account of what my educational goal were, which career path I wanted to pursue, and how the university will help me to achieve my goals.
When we were kids, my sister and I always had one question. My parents have said that they would be pushing us both in a stroller in the middle of the mall and my older sister would ask “what’s his name?” She would keep repeating this until they gave her an answer—whether or not it was an accurate one. Sitting next to her, I would then pipe up saying “why?” and (as expected) this question stumped them. This “why” question established my interest in the field of psychology and in my future pursuit of academia. Why do people act and feel the way they do?
Education has become an important factor in the ever-volatile world, from elementary school to junior high-to-high school. Individuals who are fortunate to obtain an education do so, but they never think much of it until the concluding days of their high school years come. Concerns about life beyond high school strikes many profoundly, while others possess a clear vision of their desired future, which may include college. Personal growth and success derives from the experiences.
Now this part right here is in a way personal, i’m here to talk about my life and emotions on furthering my education. I come from a family where anything is possible, if you have your mind set on something you get up and fight for what you want, no excuses. I’m a 17 year old girl from Monterrey, Nuevo Leon Mexico, I wish I could tell you about the beautiful place where I’m from but sadly, I can’t tell you anything. I get a lot of crap from my family because I don’t remember anything from Mexico, lately i’ve been missing home more than ever. I always knew I could accomplish something if I set my mind to it, I just don’t feel capable of taking a chance I don’t even have. In case it didn’t get stuck in your head before, I’m a 17 year old undocumented
When I was a kid, school for me was waking up early in the morning. I also have to study a lot in school, then after school I have to do homework. I remember my first day at school. My mom and dad, both were so happy and prepared but I was so nervous and cheerless. I didn’t like to wake up early in the morning for school , but as time flew by I started loving school which made me wake up with energy instead of tiredness. I began to enjoy the school as I made new friends and I got to know how it is like when you meet people out of your neighborhood. With my friends I had lunch together and study together. I started to understand what the purpose of the education system. Based on what I understood I think the purpose of education is really aimed at helping students get to the point where they can learn to be on their own. In this journey of education I had a lot of positive and few negative experiences, but the negative experiences also helped me growing. Positive experiences are my teachers helping me improve, and I improved more when I moved to the United States.
Senior High School for four years, apply to college, graduate, walk across the stage, go to prom. Attend college for four years, find a job, build a family. Repeat. The populace have their lives dictated to them by society from a very early age. For as long as I can remember, four years of high school has been what most of the people in my neighborhood and other communities find standard and natural. There were always those few who graduated a year early, but only to take a gap year and travel or “just relax.” Only a handful of fortuitous students and individuals have the chance to know what Simon's Rock offers and the opportunities that it makes available to its incoming and returning students. I am one of these individuals.
The quest for education is an arduous and tumultuous one many undertake, but few achieve. There are multiple paths which one could can while on this quest. For many, the path of a close-mindedness is one most tend to astray from-for good reason. Close-mindedness essentially seals you off from the world of education, leads to dangerous and poorly thought conclusions, and inhibits growth as an individual.
