If my school had a new dress code there would a few things I would want to happen.Number one is to always have socks on.People's feet are always stinky and not wearing socks would be bad.Another thing I would is no flip flops because if people step on your feet it's really hurt you. A dress code they should get rid of is not short shorts. They should do that because it gets really hot during the summer and spring and people wearing a medium sized shorts would still be hot. They should make it so you have to wear socks is because people feet are always stinky and gross and could have mold on it.They should also get rid of flip flops because they really hurt wearing them for a long time. And when other people step on your toes it can
Dress code has been the biggest topic in Treasure Coast High School. There have been many meetings regarding that issue. There should be dress codes for students for many reasons. Some of TCHS dress code rules are collared shirts tucked in, must have sleeves with necklines, shorts/dresses must be at knee length and turtle necks. Like Mallika Sherawat said, “To undress is the dress code these days and I didn’t start it. We are all voyeurs, so why the complaints? Until girls don’t walk in a swimsuit on the stage, they don’t get the crown, so why is everyone so holier-than-thou?”
Dress codes is a standard of clothing for school, office, club, or restaurant. Schools have dress codes to promote professionalism and a distraction-free learning environment. More standards of dressings are set in place for girls than males. This causes an unequal amount of bias towards women and sexism to occur in the dress code.
The controversy about dress codes asks an important question: are dress codes targeting girls and transgender students? Several sites including:https://www.adl.org/education/resources/tools-and-strategies/table-talk/what's-fair-and-unfair-about-student-dress-codes, stated that when they spoke to girls they said they feel shamed and judged by dress codes. Are dress codes limiting students creativity. Should these girls really feel harassed men and boys at their school?
I think that dress code shouldn’t be as big a deal as its given credit for. The girls are usually the only ones who are called out on it. I think if we come to school with clothes on, everyone should be happy. If I could make one change to dress code, it would be allowing girls to wear off-the-shoulder tops because girls are not objects, it gets really hot in classrooms, and they’re very fashionable!
How many times have you heard of a child being sent home due to their outfit? In so many towns and cities there is ridiculous dress codes. Most of the dress codes are directed towards females. These rules somewhat make them feel as if they have to hid their bodies so they won’t distract men. High school dress codes are detrimental to all student’s confidence outside and inside the classroom.
At a local elementary school, a fifth grade girl is teased by classmates about her clothes being raggedy and not so stylish. Five weeks later, she overdosed on her mother’s pain medication and died at the local hospital. Beside her bed, her mom found a note that said, “I am so tired of people making fun of me and my clothes.”
Imagine kids walking around school sagging there pants or wearing shorts that only go to the tips of their legs. If schools don't have dress code kid could wear the smallest close or most revealing close possible. All schools should have dress codes.
Many schools use dress codes for many different reasons, but are dress codes actually a good thing? Dress codes have been around for a long time, and most of the schools in the world use them. Whether they are minor dress codes, like no skimpy outfits, or full blown uniforms, they are used. Dress codes are not necessarily a good thing to have, though. Dress codes should only slightly have enforcement due to allowing students to have the freedom of dress as well as not having to pay for special clothes to wear.
Do you wish you could change something about the dress code? If you could what would you change. For me I would not change anything about it.
Is there anything more embarrassing than being dress coded at school? Enforcing a dress code among children is unfair because it not only discriminates against people but it destroys someone’s whole day. Dress codes and school uniforms are meant to increase student achievement and make everyone equal but instead it only hurts people. Most school dress codes are unnecessary and are sexist. Enforcing dress codes is suppose to boost student achievement but instead is racist, sexist and unnecessary. Schools should take into consideration their student 's feelings before they establish rules for dressing.
School dress code is possibly one of the most enforced rules in today's school system. Despite the issues of drugs, alcohol, or dangerous weapons on campus, the dress code system is clearly the most important issue in schools today. Who cares about the fighting, the bullying, or the education of students? A teenage girl's shoulder being shown is obviously much more distracting and dangerous to the school environment than kids throwing punches left and right.
As springtime rolls around so does the night that most girls in highschool look forward to for years: Prom. Prom, or banquet, as it’s called at Liberty Christian School, is a night where girl do their hair and makeup all nice, get their dates, and most importantly find their perfect dress. But for the girls at Liberty finding their perfect dress isn’t all that easy. At Liberty girls are given a list of rules to follow when buying their dress, then expected to go to a dress check where it is made sure that all the rules were followed. With all the requirements some girl question if it is even worth it.
Children and Teenagers express themselves by what they wear. That is one of the biggest arguments schools have and the overall biggest problems is dress code. Teenagers and children like to feel free and wear things that make them unique. Dress codes does not really affect the way students learn. I think that children should be able to wear what they want to school and not get sent home for it being to provocative or inappropriate.
the school environment. Within the educational system, this adult worry has led to environments of what Dockett, Petriwskyj & Perry (2014) indicates have been purified and cleansed in the sense of controlling what children see, do and take part in. Within the educational setting, this is apparent through dress codes within schools, bus safety rules, safety protocol for visitors to the school through a secure entry system and sign in protocol, and a strict code of conduct which outlines behaviours which are expected from children, as well as specific school safety guidelines for children and adults within the school setting (Education System, 2015). Within the Code of Conduct as outlined by the Education System (2015) the purpose of these protocols
In health care there is a lot that goes into play when you are in the field and work in a certain department. Dress code is one factor that helps differentiate who you are seeing and what department you are going to see. This can be the front desk, nurses of different departments and even volunteers all have a certain dress code to go by. Doctors have a white jacket on top of there clothes that lets you know you are with the doctor and not the nurse that wears scrubs. In the article “The Clothes Make the Doctor”, a women goes to the doctors office to look for a new primary-care doctor and is seen by a women wearing stilettos and a tailored expensive-looking suit. She was not pleased and felt uncomfortable being seen by her, it wasn't that se was wearing something really revealing but the fact that she was wearing something that was more for a meeting then being at the doctors office.
