My two best success profilr skills are self-esteem, and interpersonal awareness. From the time of November 5th to May the 16th my self-esteem increased twenty-two points. A way I improved my self-esteem was just by not letting people’s words bother me. From November the 5th to May the 16th my interpersonal-awareness increased by ten points. I have the ability to take into account of others' reactions to adjust tactics and
What I have learned is learned is that I have self-insight. I feel In order to understand the needs and perspectives of followers, I need to understand my strengths and weaknesses, which I do understand. A good leader needs to be aware of their typical behavior and how they are perceived by others (Avolio, 2005). For this reason, I look for feedback from my manager and coworkers on my communication skills with our customers and coworkers. Additionally, as I mentioned earlier, I have already signed up for classes to help become a better
One of my assets is my self-awareness. As it is illustrated in the table above I scored a 60 out of a possible 66 in self-awareness, which indicates I have developed an ability to be a master of myself. I am very aware of the way in which others view me, and the way in which I project myself to others. I believe this is an important asset because being self-aware helps me to develop and maintain self-control. This is extremely important in my career since my company, Company, Inc., is a startup company with a fairly small number of employees. Since I am one of the first fifty employees to be hired in the company, I feel that I have a very strong understanding of the direction in which the company is going and sometimes feel that I should have a larger say in company decisions than I actually do based on my current position. In this regard my self-awareness helps me to have the self-control to be patient enough to trust my managers and leaders in the company to make the right decisions moving forward. I am able to determine when it is appropriate for me to interject and/or
A self-assessment through self-awareness is key for one to understand his own strengths and weaknesses. Only after conducting it, can he settle goals and objectives in order to take any corrective action. This is
In every aspect of our daily lives, we need interpersonal skills to communicate and interact with others efficiently. Individuals with excellent interpersonal skills often collaborate well in teams or groups and with other individuals more generally. When interacting with others, interpersonal skills come naturally, yet in some situations, it can also be challenging to communicate with others. According to **** “Through awareness of how you interact with others, and with practice, you can improve your interpersonal skills” (p. ). Therefore, it is vital that individuals occasionally evaluate their communication skills to ensure that they are communicating in writing or speaking effectively. On the Internet, there are multiple communication self-assessment tools to help individuals discover their communication skills strengths and weaknesses, and overall, determine if they are communicating effectively. Describe the assessment you used to analyze your skills.
Research shows that “if your emotional abilities aren 't in hand, if you don 't have self-awareness, if you are not able to manage your distressing emotions, if you can 't have empathy and have effective relationships, then no matter how smart you are, you are not going to get very far” (Treher and Piltz et al., 2011). From a business perspective intrapersonal skills are becoming more important for everyday production. For that reason, in this portfolio, I will effectively examine my interpersonal skills and any strengths or weaknesses that lie within. I will reflect on my learning in regards to the experiences throughout the past 6 weeks of studying BSB124- working in
The above was two of my strengths and two of my weaknesses: Interpersonal Awareness, Empathy. Time Management, Decision
Through Interpersonal Communication course I took in first semester in school, I have increased self-awareness. Every day, I keep learning more and more about myself. Not only that, but also, practice skills, and integration of knowledge and practice. For years, I have not seen self-awareness important, and also do not know my strengths and weaknesses. Though, I had an idea what my likes and dislikes were but my self-awareness was missing. Self-awareness is important because it can help us to recognize when we are stressed or under pressure. Self-awareness will also advance interpersonal relations, and also for developing empathy for others.
I have been able to appropriately question and answer my previous assumptions; through positive acts engage in the exploration of new ideas and innovative approaches towards doing or thinking about things; I have been able to promote self-improvement through identifying my strengths and weaknesses and taking a positive step to address them; and finally connecting theory with practice in all the events I found myself and through reflecting found a way to improve myself positively academically, personally and
I enjoyed reading your post tremendously. Becoming an expert in my career field is exactly what I am here to do. I never want to become complacent and too comfortable in my own efficiency. I am always trying to be better than the next person. I want this knowledge to become in expendable and create a positive environment for my future. Graduating is the end result of hard work, but the hard work makes graduating worth it.
There are many similarities and differences between my personal skills map from the beginning of the year, to my most recent one. The differences were the areas I did better and the areas I did worse. Areas I did better in were my self-esteem, driving strength and physical wellness. Now the areas I went down on were interpersonal assertion, empathy, time management, and sales orientation. The similarities between my two charts are interpersonal awareness, decision making, and commitment ethic and stress management. For better areas, I will maintain their status and excel in them while my worse areas I will bring them back up. The areas I stayed the same I will bring them up and keep them above my last one.
What was a surprise in the report was the revelation that Interpersonal Effectiveness was one of top skills because I truly felt that I struggle in that area. This attribute to how aggressive I am with communicating with is often perceived as too direct or at times, curt. After reading the details of this report the realization has come to me that interpersonal effectiveness is not just oral communication but involves other factors that are true strenghs that have been recognized throughout my career. Those strengths encompass ability to Compromise and the ability to Teach which has evolved into a turn in my career focused on knowledge management. Teamwork has and will always be a main focus because it’s known that more can be accomplished
Over the past eight weeks many self-improving skills have been obtained. In unit one we learned about multiple intelligences, growth mindset, and resilience. A growth mindset is simply believing that there is always room for improvement, and remaining positive, despite the challenging obstacles you may encounter. Over the past four weeks I have developed a growth mindset because, it has been proven that people with growth mindsets have higher quality performance over those with a fixed mindset. An example of my new growth mindset is that I now remind myself to not settle for mediocre performance but instead, work to my fullest potential. I now believe it is imperative that working towards goals requires the maximum amount of effort. You are not just born with skills, you acquire them. My major as of now is criminal justice and at first, I was very discouraged and did not perform well. However; over the last few weeks I have turned things around by applying myself and, seeking extra help. When I am confused about a topic I now make it a point to ask questions. Determining my intelligence has altered the way I approach academic and professional work. By doing so, I have learned my strong points and what fields I excel in. For example, learning that music, social and, body movement skills are my three highest strengths has helped me consider

For me personal , my self-assess of interpersonal communication skills are very effective. I will sit back and listen to what people have to tell me and then give my thoughts on what should be done or what can't be done. I will also work with people to get a better understanding of a situation when it arises.
By this theory, I will build self-esteem by positively reinforcing good behaviour, that is leading to achievement of goals and objectives. This can be done by recognizing and acknowledging these achievements in front of the entire company and by providing gifts for attaining such feats.
