The first English settlers arrived in the New World around the early 1600’s and established colonies. About a year and a half later, our amazing and beautiful country took place. America has been alive and ever blossoming for 239 years. Our goal subsists to keeping that number high. My visions for America so we can keep blossoming remain as follows: a strong military force, a healthy society, and a faithful unity of people. Developing and sustaining a powerful military force takes the place as the first of my visions for America. On the day, September 29, 1789, our country’s first official military force came about. That day meant that, from this time forward we will do our absolute best to defend our country. So far we have kept our word; aside from only a few losses. After reading that, we can’t lose hope; we can’t let down now, we must push forward in this goal! In the beginning process of our military addition we had the early equipment and thinking. Now, our military has developed and produced more sufficient equipment and more thoughtful and strategic thinking. According to world …show more content…
Sustaining a healthy society means that there lives more people employed rather than unemployed and to have as little national debt as possible. Comparing America to my Vison for America, there exists approximately 315 million people in America and about 156 million of them stand employed and 8.6 million unemployed. Shown those statistics, the approximate unemployment rate happens as 5.3%. Given these statements, we can infer that there are far more people employed rather than unemployed in America. Nevertheless, 2.35 trillion occurs as America’s average yearly imports and the average yearly amount we export remains 1.65 trillion, putting us in debt. By and large, America stands about half way there in my second vision for America, but every year we get closer and closer yet at pursuing our
The military has been instrumental in the protection and development of U.S interests around the world. From the Revolutionary War, which established the United States as a nation, through the World Wars, which set up the U.S as one of the world super powers, to its current war on terror, the military has helped and protected U.S. interests around the world. During all these wars American soldiers have proudly served their country. Because of these wars America is famous throughout the world for military power and its protection of freedom in the world. Today the U.S is an international symbol of wealth and power; it has the largest Gross Domestic Product in the world as well as the strongest military. Yet even America falls prey to a
Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. These words should sound familiar to most people. They were included in the Declaration of Independence, which was mainly written by Thomas Jefferson. The Declaration announced America’s separation from Britain, tyranny, and the monarchy.
First, let's define "American Dream". "American Dream" is what you would consider a "perfect life." It can be full of happiness, money, love, food, cars, whatever you desire, everyone has a different opinion. One person’s American Dream may be totally different from someone else’s, that is what makes us all individuals. My American Dream would include a good job and lots of money, spare time for my family and I, and most importantly, healthiness.
Today we are making more than we can use. Today our industrial society is congested; there are more workers than there is work, there is more capital than investment. We do not need more money- we need more circulation, more employment.” This quote from Albert J. Beveridge shows a problem in the economy in America. If the leaders of America during the rise of American Imperialism focused more on what is happening in their own country, instead of showing the world how large and powerful the navy and military is, which goes against almost every American ideal, then the United States may be more financially stable today. It is a shame that the problems we face today can lead back to the problems of the past. The problems of the past should make the leaders of the world today realize the next step in fixing the problem. The opposite has happened. The leaders today have to fix the problems that started in the past, which makes it hard for the government to progress away from American Imperialism. Instead of learning from the past the world is focused on fixing the problems that have occurred because of the past, and almost every incident past the 1920s have occurred as a result of American
America. The greatest country. The strongest country. The one country most people want to live in. The country that provides help for the ones in need and free education for everybody. America has lived up to the ideals in the Declaration of Independence such as democracy, opportunity, but most importantly, liberty. In America, we are all born with liberty or as others call it, “rights.”
In order to advance the vital interests of the United States, we need a military that is equipped with best of everything and the backing of a nation to use them to defend our national interests and goals when needed.
My family has always believed that there is a path set by God for everybody in this world. Personally, I am very religious just like my family. I go to church every weekend and assist with anything for the church. Still, I never believed in the concept that everything is interconnected and happens for a reason. Well, that is, until now.
When our forefathers created this country on hopes and dreams, freedom of speech and, on our rights as human beings. They planned our government following through with all of these. The forefathers envisioned our government would protect our rights. When I think of "My Vision For America" I think of a better, stronger, and smarter government.
America in the present day is a tremendous living experience for many. However, it is not a utopian society, and not everyone is satisfied with what our country has to offer. I am one of these people. The extortionate investment of military spending, the frequency of death by guns, and the hindered equality for everyone in the nation are just a few of the many issues that the United States must fix in order for it to truly be the greatest nation in the world.
Sometime during the course of World War II, the United States became the most powerful nation in the world. During the last two hundred or so years, the United States has fought ten major wars and innumerable smaller military actions. For the most part it has been successful, in some instances defeating some of the world’s most powerful countries. In other instances it has simply been lucky. A common threat throughout the nation’s existence has been the practice of indifference and neglect. Between wars the Army shrinks to a very small size. Funds and attention almost disappear. This policy of the US Army may well indeed danger the nation’s safety in the future
Each year around the world millions of people make a list of their New Year’s Resolutions and hope the new year will bring those changes. For many people they would like to get the promotion they have worked so hard for, or maybe for some people it’s time to settle down and start a family. There are countless amounts of resolutions for people to hope for. For what seems like a lot of Americans today many hope for their “ideal body weight”. In the United States the average body mass index of males is 28.6 while for females it is 28.7 those BMI’s are indicitative of overweight people but not necessarily not obese.(LiveStrong.com). Many Americans find it hard to see themselves as having an ideal body, especially when all we see on TV and magazines is people that are
The importance of American landscape painting in the nineteenth century extended far beyond the borders of the art world. The nineteenth century in America was a paradoxical time in which great nationalism and “enormous self-confidence and optimism” merged with growing disunity (Wilmerding 54), and the glow of “progress” was inextricably tied to the destruction of the majestic landscape that was a source of American identity and pride. Landscape painters at this time were faced with the difficult task of reconciling these conflicting aspects of American culture and identity. Their paintings blend physical descriptions of the American land with cultural descriptions of the American national identity.
My vision for America is very simple… I believe that there are some problems that America can address that they have not already done. Education is a very important topic to be discussed because it is teaching the future. Also, we have to ban some important things that I believe is wrong. One thing that I believe is wrong is protesting at a funeral. The military protect us at the U.S., so why protest when someone dies? The final topic that I believe is that we should be more focused on America rather than another country. If people are killing other people in a country, the why do we need to go over? They are doing no harm to us.
Imagine a world where fairy tales and magic really existed. I remember being in the Philippines, thinking that stars and wishing wells would actually make my dreams come true. I can still remember begging my parents to give me coins so I can just have something to throw into the wishing well. Every time I made a wish, I had a hope of living in America for a better future and a complete family. It was like a tattooed wish that stuck with me as I was growing up. As a child, I thought that, in just a blink of an eye, this dreams would turn into a reality. With every coin I threw, there was hope in my heart that someday I could say that I’m living the dreams that I’ve only imagined.
When I think about America in the future, I get excited. I imagine towering and elegant buildings, beautiful forests with animals that we have saved from going extent, and less pollution than ever before. Although we may not find everything tangible such as paying off debt, finding jobs in abundance, or people treating everyone with kindness regardless of gender, race or religion, all would have a hope for a better place in which to live. Improved work ethics would increase productivity in our society. All of these reasons make my vision for America seem possible and great.
