NYU-AD has always been my first choice college. Several of our graduated are currently doing their undergraduate programs there and they provide great feedbacks and reviews about NYU-AD. I believe at NYU I can receive an outstanding liberal arts and science education.
Situated on Saadyat Island within a planned cultural district, NYU-AD is the first ever university at Middle east to provide Liberals arts education as well as affiliated with a major American University. The campus covers a large area of 50 acres where I can relax, learn explore and research in various areas. As a liberal arts college, NYU covers a broader area of study and offers study programs from Arts and Humanities to Science and Technology. The small class size at NYU allows student to have active participation, intimate discussions, and one on one interaction with the scholars. The best thing about studying at NYU-AD for a travel lover like me is the NYU’s Global Network. I can study up to two semesters at different cities all around the globe which includes Florence, London, Paris, Shanghai, Berlin and many more. Through this global study strategy, I can have intercultural understanding, explore rich cultures and lifestyle of the

I will possibly find myself involved in various programs outside the classroom which may include arts, media, cooking, culture, religion, recreation, technology, sports and athletics. I can even get the opportunity to join the student clubs and as a fact there are more than 50 clubs at NYU-AD. Or I could even create my own club to go out into the community and find myself involved in various service oriented activities. NYU-AD is also home for multidisciplinary labs and research centers. NYU can prepare me for the challenges and opportunities of this interconnected world. In addition to that, it creates a unique capacity for student to access the facilities at the entire university
Some people have skills that makes them unique, my skill was just always a hands on learner. I have always just enjoyed fixing minor things around my house since I was four. My mother would usually say “Where’s my handyman at?” whenever there were something to fix. Something about getting the knowledge of turning something useless into its original state just intrigues me. When I was around ten years old, I started skating and it had me actually figure out the board completely and learned how to assemble one which gave me more experience.
The transition from being a child, dependent upon parents for everything, to an independent adult is one of the most stressful times a person will endure. Legally speaking, 18 is the age when you become an adult but the number doesn’t describe the responsibilities and independence you must take on. College is seen as the “big step” into the real world and many people struggle in choosing where to make their transition. I would like to take my “big step” by attending Florida Atlantic University.
Around 300,000 American students are able to partake in studying abroad each year (Klebnikov, Sergei). With over 7 billion people spread throughout the world we may think that experiencing places in our own county is seemingly impossible. However, today we have so many opportunities to travel the world as young people. Iowa State University has focused on giving students of all different backgrounds the ability to go out and experience the world.
During college, I also had an opportunity to shadow a group of medical professionals on a summer medical relief trip to Peru. On the trip, I realized life was so much bigger than my self-contained bubble of worries and concerns. Students from The University of Illinois’ Christian healthcare association aided a team composed of doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and therapists to run free clinics in Peru. I experienced first-hand how powerful it was when different health professionals worked together towards a common goal. My initial wonderment of the mountainous landscape was quickly put aside overshadowed after I realized the team did not have the resources to meet the needs of the large mass of local Quechua people that had gathered at our clinic. It was heartbreaking to witness problems that were otherwise so easily treatable in America. As resources dwindled, I noticed a therapist who was teaching proper lifting techniques to prevent injuries. He noted the prevalence of lower back pain largely due to the heavy labor a majority of the local men did for a living. This was significant as the physical therapist not only treated the symptoms, but rather empowered the local people to better themselves daily. I witnessed people being inspired to care
New York City, home for many wonderful things: Broadway, Chelsea Market, independent coffee shops. But most important, New York City has New York University and its liberal arts program. NYU’s liberal arts program has the potential to not only liberally educate me but also to globally educate me.
At the end of the day, I chose NYU because of it’s enriching culture, diverse atmosphere and it’s emotionally passionate yet rigorous curriculum. I choose NYU and I hope NYU will choose
As a 17-year-old about to graduate high school, I had no idea what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. When I applied for UNF, I listed my major as exploratory since nothing was popping out at me. I discovered my passion what I want to do for the rest of my life halfway through fall semester, even though I still feel ignorant since I have only scratched the surface. After learning about the construction department at UNF, I shadowed a project manager back home and ran for project manager in my pledge class.
On top of that, NYU stresses that it is a global university, and as a student who comes from an extremely diverse school and plans to study abroad while in college, I feel comforted to know that I won't have to adjust myself to assimilate with the New York City community. It reassures me that the collaborative and multifaceted efforts present in my school will also be waiting for me at NYU. Academically speaking, I also clearly remember a tour guide saying how in the history of NYU, no two students have ever had the same schedule. This shows that anyone can excel and be a leader in any field. All in all, there is no doubt in my mind that NYU will foster my academic interests and push me to become as worldly and content as possible, expanding NYU's horizon to
I had no idea that American University’s motto was identical to my sophomore summer’s epiphany which evolved during a South Dakota Habitat for Humanity (HH) project. My impression that I knew how hard life could be, especially after my parents’ tumultuous divorce, was dispelled. I was determined to think and act based upon the direction I wanted my life to take.
To prepare for attending such a prestigious all-English institution like UIC, I have improved my English ability by taking challenging English classes like AP English Language and Humanities literature AC, in addition to consistently reading classic English literatures. These activities have enhanced my English writing abilities, and helped me getting excellent scores on standardized tests. Furthermore, because I believe that a “good” scientist must have a deep understanding of humanity, I have put extra effort into studying my humanities courses, which covered major works of art, music, literature, and political philosophers central to Western Civilization. I hope to continue my study of humanities in UIC’s well-established common curriculum,
I have three reasons why I chose Manhattanville College. First, foreign students come from 51 countries throughout the world so I will be able to meet them and learn their various values and their ways of thinking. Second, I can learn marketing from an international perspective. Last, this school is only an hour away from New York and there is many chances to do internship. For a person who wants to study foreign business system like me, I feel this is really a stimulating place to
I believe that NYU's College of Arts and Sciences would categorize as at top-rated college. However, this would not be the major reason on why I would want to attend NYU. On the contrary, it is my mom's background and my surroundings that encourage me to apply for your institution and its 'Pre-Professional Dental and Joint BA/DDS Program with the College of Dentistry.' My mom was a dentist in China, therefore as a child, I was inspired to follow in her footsteps and pursue an occupation similar to hers. My mom was able to connect me to NYU students or graduates from her job and their accounts of their experience when studying at NYU. For instance, one of these students would constantly tell me about the excitement she got when she received the notice that she would be attending the institution. She would express this delight on her face while explaining about the limitless opportunities and support that the school would be able to offer. From these descriptions, it persuades me to experience the diversity and excitement that occurs on its
It is imperative that students become aware of these as well as university services. However, many students not from NYC are hesitant in traveling beyond Greenwich Village. Whether it's the fear of not knowing the MTA, or being afraid at a new city, as a college leader I would plan activities such that the transition is easy for the first year students, by taking them on trips throughout the five boroughs. Another challenge that many students are concerned about entering NYU is the thought that it is a school without a campus, so finding a community can be difficult.. That is what clubs, cohorts, and college leaders are here for as well as student resource center. I have heard friends say that even though NYU is such a large school, you can often feel very lonely and the best way to overcome this is to motivate yourself to talk to others. There is no better way to find your group than within your cohort or amongst the many cohorts by attending the activities that the leaders plan. I know I have become close to many of my cohort members from having similar classes and a
I want to discover the world here, and be surrounded by people who value the importance of being a trailblazer in society. I want a campus that mirrors reality; where I am one with the city. I want a
The college of Arts and Sciences will give me the opportunity to take on new and unexpected challenges during my undergraduate career. I don’t only plan to cure a
