He told me I should go. But I didn’t want to leave my room. I had all of my personal Belongings including our three kids. I wanted them to survive but I didn’t want them to suffer. My heart was beating a million miles an hour. I was swarmed with little thoughts in my head on what to do. I kept on thinking “If I go there is a chance we get hypothermia in the freezing cold water and die suffering or what if we fall off and drown alive.” I just wanted help. We are all going to die. I boarded the boat, known as the Titanic. It was a ship that was going change my husband’s, three kids’, and my own life forever. I was so excited to go on this adventure. As the doorman opened the squeaky metal door to the ship, I started to think what if this ship sinks. So what I did was when I got to the lobby I asked the Captain “How great of a chance is there that this ship will sink.” He replied “Madam, this ship has been tested completely unsinkable.” “Thank you sir”. At this point a nice young lady came up to us and said “How are you” “great’’ “Do you know what room you are in?” “Yes, we are in room A25!” “That’s amazing, My husband and I are in room A27 would you like me to show you there.” We really wanted to see the ship and get to know the place but we couldn’t make the young lady feel bad. “Sure, we would love that.” The lady took us up a flight of stairs and the ship had been decorated perfectly as to be a cute floral museum. The hallway was lined with all white walls, and with a
Most people thought that the Titanic was unsinkable, but they couldn’t have been any further from the truth. The Titanic’s maiden voyage in the early 1900s was cut short due to a collision with an iceberg. The Titanic was a tragic event that helped change sailing for years to come because of the massive casualties and the sinking of an unsinkable ship.
My favorite history experience has to do with the movie called “The Titanic.” Not just the movie but the actual event happening. I wish I could have been there and survived the experience to be able to tell the amazing, life changing story. The movie and the actual sinking of the ship affected me in many ways. I think it also affected the way we make our boats today. When I seen this movie and realized not only how much the world has changed since the titanic happened, but the way we think and how we build things differently.
If you want to know something scary there was a mummy hidden in a wealthy traveler’s car aboard the Titanic. It was said to be a mummy’s curse back when it was bough, but that didn’t stop the American typhoon from purchasing it and transferring it to a museum on the Titanic. Mysteriously in never arrived because of the fateful destruction of the Titanic. Nevertheless, none of these myths or conspiracy about the Titanic are deemed as true as JP Morgan using it to kill off his competition. For 73 years, the titanic could not be found, until discovered by an oceanographer named Dr. Robert Ballard. No sapphire diamond jewelry shaped like a heart were found, but difference in the described vessel didn’t match what was on the design plans. The conspiracy
The sinking of the Titanic is one most well-known shipwreck in modern day history and it's still being written and told about even a century later. The causation of the sinking has been debated heavily since the crash in 1912 and many so-called experts of the titanic disagree with another on this issue. There has been new development when the ship was discovered in 1985 and examined by experts. Leading people that the sinking was caused by three major turning points. The first being the failures of White Star Line who manufacture the ship starting in 1909. The second being the crew of the ship that had some very serve flaws in the plan of action leading up to the disaster. Lastly the passengers who had enough time to prepare before the
The Titanic is different from the other ships because, they thought that the Titanic was unsinkable. “It’s another ice burg warning…the captain had seemed quite unconcerned” on 106 and 107 so they aren’t worried that they will not hit the ice burg and sink because those people don’t think it can sink. “There was much talk among the passengers about the Titanic being unsinkable.” On 105 so they aren’t worried that the boat will sink. “Nicknamed the Unsinkable ship” on page 102 it even says unsinkable
INTRO: The Titanic will always be remembered as the most famous and important shipwreck in history. You’ve learned about the building, voyage, and sinking of the Titanic, but now I will tell you why the Titanic leaves a legacy like no other disaster.
Jack Dawson and Rose DeWitt Bukater – For movie buffs in the 1990s, when you heard someone talking about “Jack and Rose,” you would probably think Titanic. You would think about the Love and Mystery, Excitement and Suspense. You might hear comments like: “What a great movie” or “Oh, it’s just a movie… It wasn’t really that bad.” The latter people would be correct: it was worse. The Titanic was so much more than a movie could ever depict. Death, destruction, terror, sadness: those were the emotions for the people aboard the Titanic. The disaster that is Titanic could have easily been avoided, and the needless loss of life would have been spared, if just minor changes in planning were taken heed of at the beginning of the voyage.
My wife Selena Gomez and I are on our way to Germany for our honeymoon. We just got married on Saturday, and we took off at 9:05 on Monday. Its suppose to be about a six hour plane ride. Everything was going pretty good till we were about four hours into the ride. We suddenly felt a bunch of shakes and not such a smooth ride. The pilot came over the microphone and said that we ran out of gas. He told us that we needed to remain calm and told us everything would be alright. Everybody on the plane was scared, including myself. I could feel my stomach starting to hurt. I looked at my wife and saw her crying so I held her. Nobody was saying anything on the plane, we were just hoping the pilot could land it safely.
The sinking of the Titanic has become one of the most well-known disasters in history, because of the terrible loss of life and the demise of what everyone believed was an "unsinkable" ship. As is evident from reading this report the use of substandard rivets was the main cause of the failure of the Titanic. By substandard we mean that the type of rivets used was incorrect as well as the location of these rivets.
The Titanic may be one of the most famous and well known shipwrecks of our time. Just about everyone learns of the tragedy in school and how it was a complete accident. Information has been found that point to the tragedy not being what we think it is. There is evidence that shows that the ship thought to be the Titanic may actually be named the Olympic, and may have been used in an insurance scam. This evidence includes pictures showing different amounts of port holes and even people working on the ship coming forward. It has yet to be proven if this is 100% true, but most would agree that all of this points to it being true.
On April 14,1912 a great ship called the Titanic sank on its maiden voyage. That night there were many warnings of icebergs from other ships. There seems to be a conflict on whether or not the warnings reached the bridge. We may never know the answer to this question. The greatest tragedy of all may be that there were not
Thesis: The Titanic sank because the route was not changed in time of the hit, the cold water mirage, and man’s error.
When researching movies for my paper, I decided that the Titanic was the perfect option. Being that the movie was based on the true event of the RMS Titanic sinking, I knew I could also find a lot of research during the time of the Titanic to help strengthen my paper. The movie Titanic took place in the early 1900’s, a time rich in sociological issues. Their way of life was a lot different than ours today. Some major sociological concepts that were shown several times in the movie were, social stratification, gender inequality and sexism, inequality of income, and discrimination. During this time period people faced huge gaps in wealth, gender, class, and race. Gaps between the rich and poor were extreme. The wealthy were rich and the poor were in poverty. The “middle class” was not a common standing within society: you were either upper or lower class. It was very difficult to rise above the lower class standing, and easier to fall below the upper class line (Prezi web). Men dominated in almost all social standings; voting, ownership of land, professions, wealth, etc. Women were still viewed as “property” and in most ways, treated as such. The gap between the upper and lower class caused discrimination amongst them. Lower-class was treated poorly by the upper-class and seen as less worthy. In my paper I plan to include all of these sociological issues, and clearly connect them within the movie, Titanic.
Within the context of film industry, the film Titanic by James Cameron belongs to epic romance/ disaster genre. The film, released in 1997, was a global box office hit because the director provided equal importance to history, fiction and romance. To be specific, one can see that the film’s plot is based upon the history of RMS Titanic. On the other side, the main characters including the protagonist and the heroine (Jack Dawson and Rose DeWitt Bukater/Dawson) are fictional characters. Besides, the element of romance between the main characters (Jack and Rose) is the film’s main attraction. Thesis statement: The critical analysis of the film Titanic proves that the innovative mode of storytelling (flash back and other techniques),
puts a story on the screen and into life so that people can see it.
