Narrative Essay: my first cruise

When I was about 10 years old my family and I took a vacation to Florida to see my great aunt Linda. It was a 14 hour drive down to Florida which is a long time in the car. We were going down there for a week. For the first two days we went to Sea World in Orlando, Florida. I was very excited to see my great aunt because I have never met her before. I knew that I was going to have fun on this trip.

This is my first plane ride since my mom and I moved to the quiet and boring Covington, Louisiana. My mom forced me to go on this school trip to New York City. And I thought the school year couldn 't get any worse. On the 3 hour flight I had to sit next to Pizza Face Pete and Stinky Sally. But hey, at least I’m not sitting next to Mr. Swanson, I heard he went to prison for drug distribution before he became our assistant teacher. The flight attendant said we were starting our descent into JFK, right as I went in the bathroom to get away from Sally’s vile stench.

I`ve been on planes, cars, and many things in my life but I have never been on a cruise, and on this Alaskan Cruise I was able to try new things. In our ship they had swimming pools, ping pong tables, casinos, and a extraordinary ice cream bar. One of my favorite parts of this trip was holding two baby sled dogs that were two weeks old. I also liked kayaking, plus I shared a kayak with my sister, Mia, and I controlled the kayak from the back. After that my family and I went on a bus ride to see caribou, bears, and glaciers. I also went on a hike and float with the Kendal`s (who are my cousins), because there daughter Annie was sleepy. I saw cool trees and fascinating wildlife. I even was allowed to eat berries that tasted like watermelon, but

I thought I would touch bases, before Russ and I leave for 3 weeks. We should be returning just about the time you go on your Channel Island trip. We are headed to Branson, Missouri, for a week, a time-share condo. Then we will start back via, Witchita, Kansas, to visit with one of Russ' sisters and assorted family, then on to Dallas to stay with his other sister and attend the MacPherson clan annual general meeting. After that we will head home.

I'm back! This past summer was a whirlwind of working all the time. Raft guiding is a 24/7 job, even when you're only doing three trips a day. The internet at the boathouse was not the best and I was always getting off work after the library closed. I know, what a rough life, spending all my time on Clear Creek...it did make doing chores a bit of a challenge though. To summarize my summer in one post would take too much time and I wouldn't be able to find the words to describe all the wonderful people I met and the amazing experiences I had. I will say that living out of the back of my little green Subaru Outback was an experience in itself and has made me appreciate beds all the more. I can't wait to go back next summer though. The Creek has truly captured my heart for the time being.

Two years ago, my family did not know what to do on vacation at Key West, so my dad started looking for activities. We've already done all the main activities, like walking down Duval Street. While looking, my dad found snorkeling, and the whole family liked the idea. The next day we rode on a boat with two instructors/guides and their pet cat. We started out to the reef where our snorkeling session would occur. We put on our wetsuits and our snorkel masks, and when we jumped in the ocean, the water felt awfully cold even with our swimsuits on. Ever since I found out my softball team could make it to California for Nationals I knew this would be our goal for the summer. Now here is where the challenging part came in, we only had three chances to make it to California. We made it, we were lucky enough to make our goal in the third chance.

The first time I went on a cruise I got on a airplane and went to Puerto Rico. When my family got off we went to find our luggage, and get a taxi to the hotel. When we got to the hotel, we checked into our room and unpacked our luggage. We stayed at the hotel for three days and went to the pool, beach, and explored the island.

In the three seconds I spent longing, the monstrous storm subsided. I peered through the briny mist and saw chunks of tin debris drifting by and the captain floating further out to the sea. I swam over and latched onto a piece of the paddle wheel. Then I grabbed a hold of the captain’s collar and hauled him toward me.

Trying to find memories is like looking for treasure. You look at the surface and see something mediocre, but you dig deep and find something cool, pretty, and meaningful. It took a while to think of a fond memory, but once I thought of some, it was hard to choose a favorite. Growing up I have had many great experiences in the form of vacations. Between going to Disney World, owning a vacation home, hanging out with my grandparents in Arizona, traveling to Canada and more. They all make amazing memories that I will forever cherish. The vacation spot we go to the most, though, is Wisconsin Dells. A few times I have been allowed to invite friends to come with. When I am allowed to bring friends, it is always a ginormous amount of fun. We goof off in the hotel room, play in the arcades, and swim in the water parks.

I remember a time in my life not too long ago when my family and I went white water rafting for the first time. We had been spending some of our summer vacation at a cabin in the Smokey Mountains, close to Gatlinburg, Tennessee. The next day we would experience feelings of exhilarating excitement, with a sense of suspense and anticipation as we rafted down the Nantahala River.

First,mom and dad were trying to keep a secret but they were going to tell us either way.My mom and dad told us to come over to the living room .
