In 2011, I went on a Tiger Cruise with my father, who at the time was a CMT on the USS Ohio, ever since that day, I have always known I wanted to be a part of the Navy brotherhood. The Navy is more than just a job possibility. The Navy is a way of life that I have always lived, whether it was saying goodbye to my dad for six months, or grilling hot dogs in the backyard with my father and his fellow shipmates. These examples, along with much more throughout my life, have pointed me in the direction of joining the Navy. Therefore, I would like to become a Naval Officer to serve my country, to become a part of the Naval community, and to improve myself.
The primary reason I want to become a Naval Officer is to serve my country. Not only do I want to serve my country for the generations ahead, I would like to serve my country to honor those who have served before me. On top of serving my country, becoming a Naval Officer would enable me to join the outstanding Navy community. In a way, I have been a part of the naval life ever since I was born and I could not imagine another community I would rather be a part of. Not only would the Navy enable me to repay my country and join a one of a kind of community, it would also allow me to improve myself mentally and

It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure.” My entire life I have always known that I wanted to join the United States Navy. Whether it be playing every sport my school offers or going to summer camps to learn survival skills, I have done everything I could to prepare myself for such a great feat. Sports have impacted my life tremendously by teaching me discipline, leadership, and how to physically maintain my body. Sports have also taught me how to motivate a group of people to strive to achieve the same goal and more importantly, through many failed attempts, I have learned how not to as
To attend the United States Naval Academy has been a dream of mine for a while, due to the prestige of attending such institution. the Academy offers many things that cannot be had at many universities, such as becoming an officer after graduation, summer programs aboard navy ships, and a structured schedule. To be able to attend an institution such as the Naval Academy is a goal of mine because of the opportunity it offers. The main reasons I want to attend the Naval Academy is because of the majors they offer, the experience of being a Midshipmen, and the opportunities after graduation.
In September, I had the opportunity to visit the Naval Academy for a “Candidate Visit Weekend.” During my two-night visit, I was paired with a current midshipman, whom I accompanied to classes, meals, and a sports practice. Personally experiencing daily life at the Academy and meeting current midshipmen has reinforced my desire to join their ranks. The most inspiring thing about the midshipmen I met was the effort that they put into succeeding. Being a part of this culture, even for two days, has shown me that I can work just a little harder, and that I can push myself just a little further. Since returning home, I have done just that in numerous ways.
Since its formation during the early years of our nation the United States Navy has always stood out among other militaries, playing a vital role in the protection of our own country as well as the rest of the world. Founded upon the core values of honor, courage, and commitment the Navy has continued to uphold its men and women to exceptionally high moral, mental, and physical standards for nearly 240 years. It is my favorite branch of the military and becoming an officer in it has been a goal of mine for a long time.
I have known since eighth grade that I aim to serve my country as a Naval Officer. I grew up in military and patriotic surroundings, listening to my Grandfather, a World War II PT boat veteran, tell stories of his Navy days. What inspired me most about him was that he never stopped giving back to our country. He remained a significant part of the Disabled American Veterans fighting for rights of veterans until the day he died. My Grandfather was the one that introduced me to the Naval Academy.
In 2008, I joined the world’s finest Navy to support my country. Throughout my naval journey onboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt, I met and worked with many different people from
In the Bible it says that the greatest act of love is to lay down one’s life for one’s friend, but most people would never have the courage to do so. “The few, the proud”, the United States Marine Corps, sacrifice themselves for their country each and every day. They give up their peace, prosperity, the people and possessions they love, so the rest of the world doesn’t have to feel the loss that they do. Because the Marine Corps is such an important part of our military, Americans should understand its inception, its integration and introduction of women, its symbolic uniforms, its perilous boot camp, its ranks, its achievements, and its terms.
Memorials are extremely important to me because it helps people cope with someone or something that they may have lost. It also reminds us of what had happened or a drastic event like 9/11 when the Twin Towers were attacked. We have a memorial to help us not to forget and to teach about what had happened. Without memorials we would not be able to learn as much as we know now about history of wars or attacks like Pearl Habour.
My family culture has made me appreciate the value of hard work and dedication, and has taught me to always challenge myself when setting my goals. I attribute these lessons to my family’s military background. My grandfather, Boyd Brummett, was a Marine for 32 years and my father, James Samberg, was an Army officer for 21 years. Growing up in a military family means having values like tenacity driven into your
The movie was about how the Navy Seals started and how it changed the whole world today, by changing us Americans way to fight for our country’s freedom. It starts from the beginning by telling you who were the first to become Navy Seals were called by their nickname “Frog Men”. They got their nickname from their new equipment “flippers” and by the way they looked in their newly fashioned swimsuits. They first fought against the Japanese with a cay bar, and bag of explosives. The Seals name is an acronym Sea, Air, and Land. They began their first things by blowing up obstacles to make amphibious landings possible in the pacific and had to do the same on the Atlantic to blow open the gate way for D-day. They were born in WWII. The U.S. Navy
Merchant Marine Officers are licensed, like surgeons or airline pilots. The regulatory agency for the Merchant Marine is the U.S. Coast Guard and after you have started the application process and paid the required fees, the Coast Guard will evaluate your experience and advise you which license endorsement or endorsements you may be eligible for. However, to become licensed you need to enter a maritime academy and study a rigorous curriculum encompassing many different aspects of the Maritime Industry and ships. There are six state or regional maritime academies in the United States. All of which, lead to a license as a Merchant Marine Officer and an accredited Bachelor’s degree in various areas such as Marine Transportation, engineering,
I am interested in experiencing a military life at a United States service academy, the best military educational opportunity in the United States and one of the best educational opportunities in the world. This means I am interested in being challenged both mentally and physically as well as learning and improving on vital leadership skills that are necessary to become an officer in the military. I am also interested in meeting and befriending others like me with similar interests in academics and the academy.
BUD/s training is where the hardest part of becoming a Navy SEAL happens. BUD/s training stands for Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL School. The number of people who drop out of BUD/s training is larger than the amount of people that graduate. Only twenty to thirty percent of all applicants actually graduate the course. SEALs mean sea, air, and land. There are many stages to becoming a Navy SEAL and many ranks that can be earned during training. The ranks stand out through all branches of the military. Navy SEALs are an elite special operations force whose rigorous training and specialized ranks make the organization stand out above other military branches.
At all hours of the day, one can look out into the waters surrounding U.S. Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and identify one of the Coast Guard’s 32-foot Transportable Port Security Boats. The Coast Guard, known as the Maritime Security Detachment here, patrols the bay’s Southern and Northern Boundaries protecting and securing it from the unexpected; of which can come in many forms and at a moment’s notice. Such an event was simulated by the MARSEC DET and the Marine Corps Security Force Company here, April 26, as a drill designed for both the Coast Guard and Marines in maintaining the readiness of Medical Evacuations.
My first visit to the Naval Academy was on family trip while in grammar school. On this and subsequent visits, the young men and women who chose to devote their lives to country and service greatly impressed me. As a high school student, I had the good fortune to experience Academy life via my acceptance to the competitive Summer STEM program, my invitation to Candidate Visit Weekend, and my participation in the Elite Throws Sports Camp. Through these first-hand experiences, I grew in awareness and commitment to an Academy education as an opportunity to enable me to serve my country. Moreover, I am honored to be a member of a gold star family, via my uncle Senior Master Sergeant Peter Bondi, recently deceased on active duty, and to have had a grandfather who served in the National Guard. Eulogies delivered for my Uncle Peter reflected a life of service and were a source of inspiration that fueled my resolve to serve.
How do you think marine life is discovered and how that many extinct animals maybe still be alive. Thats easy only one explanation and that's a marine biologist and that’s the career i choose to have when i graduate high school because i like how they research animals and they find pretty interesting new animals. One example of a marine life is a mega shark which may still be alive and a mega shark is a very giant shark that lived thousands of years ago and it may have survived for so long.
