AGENCY AND EVENTS
1. Ben Franklin, pointing to the sun carved on the back of the presiding officer's chair, remarked; "Throughout the days we have been laboring here, I have observed that sun, and wondered whether it was a rising sun or a setting sun. Now I know it was a rising sun."1 Throughout our lives we have been told of how our country was formed. I am here to tell you about the things the history books and teachers don’t tell you about the freemasons and there shaping of the United States of America. We will start with freemasons an agency that has been shaping history since the building of King Solomon’s temple.
2. George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, John Hancock, Benedict Arnold, and General Henry “Hap”

A position which made a mason use his three principles on a daily basis as they fought to free our country. Even the Air Force can owe some of it heritage to a freemason. General Arnold the only five star general to wear the Air Force uniform is known as the for-father of today’s Air Force. His dedication to his fellow Airman through his defense of Billy Mitchell and his push for the design of multiple airframes proved his dedication to better himself and his community, the US Air Force and America.
4. Now you may see that the freemasons are a brotherhood of men with three main principles to guide them: brotherly love, the tolerance and respect for man; relief, the support for all things small and large; and truth, the highest of moral standards. You also now know the impact these great men have had on shaping our country from the writing of the declaration of independence, to the revolutionary war, and the creation of the Air Force. By understanding what freemasons are and what they have done for our country I hope you will open your hearts and souls to your fellow man and further shape our great nation as these great men have done for us.

This is about a culture called Nacirema that is practiced in many different place and was brought to the attention of the Anthropologist attention by Professor Linton to talk about this culture that was poorly understood. The Nacirema is a type of culture that is summed up as that these people that believe in this culture that the human body is ugly and that the natural tendencies are meant to debilitate and cause disease. They are also big believes in rituals and ceremonies in the household to preform these ceremonies either as a family but in most cases it was privately. Where they would receive charms and other items form the medicine man of the community that would help with a certain problem. They would use these magic items to help with
“The exact origin of Freemasonry is not known but the beginning of organized Freemasonry began with the founding of the Grand Lodge of England on June 24, 1717, the first Grand Lodge in the world”. There is not an exact known origin of Freemasonry but two main theories are evolved from this secret society. One begins with stonemasons, who built cathedrals and castles, in England that had secret lodges in which they discussed trade affairs, initiation ceremonies, trade union membership cards, and had secret signs and words to know if one were a “trained” mason moving from site to site. These lodges, in the 1600’s, soon
It is often said that Freemasonry is a system of morality veiled in allegory. That is absolutely true in the case of the Sixteenth Degree and its imitators. Our degree work does not come out and directly implore the candidate to be honest. Rather, we take a broader view and discuss the important of truth as an abstract concept. The real lesson contained within this degree is that a man that values the truth above all else (re: honesty) is worthy of the king’s favor and he will be given the riches of the world for his dedication to
Throughout the United States history and existence one conspiracy has remained intact for generations and generations which to this day remains a mystery. The Illuminati. The Illuminati is an elite organization of world leaders, business authorities, innovators, artists, and other influential members of this planet. Their coalition unites influencers of all political, religious, and geographical backgrounds to further the prosperity of the human species as a whole.
The Masons, or Freemasonry as it is most often referred to, is one of the world's first and oldest secular fraternal societies. It is also one of the largest (Roberts). In the Middle Ages, the term “freemason” was awarded to highly skilled stonemasons who were hired as free agents to build castles and cathedrals in England and Scotland. “Because of the inherent danger of their work, stonemasons formed local organizations, called lodges, to take care of
Freemasonry principles and thought had a direct influence on the founders of America. The principles and thought were partially the basis for the desire of rebellion and independence. There have been many hints and minor discussions about the influence of Freemasonry and its association with the revolution and the founding of the United States. While the bulk of research and works do not specifically call it out, it is an underlying cause.
The subject of this paper relates to operative and speculative masonry, and in order to look into this subject it was necessary to search about the origins of freemasonry. It’s being said that Masonry originated in the East, perhaps China or Egypt, and travelled across Asia, Constantinople, Greece and Cyprus to Rome, but definitely no one can ascertain how or when the Masonic Fraternity was formed. Some sources placed the official birth of Freemasonry at 1717. However in 1440 Sir William St Clair built the Rosslyn Chapel in Scotland, which was a direct descent of William de St Clair Last Temple Grand Master of Scotland. A widely accepted theory among Masonic scholars is that it arose from the stonemasons' guilds during the Middle Ages, and
Almost all cultures world wide have highly developed traditions of music and dance. According to Mari Womack, author of Being Human: An Introduction to Cultural Anthropology, music and dance carry much importance within a culture. "As do other artistic forms, music and dance reflect cultural and social organization. Cultural values can be conveyed in the words of a song, and the performance of a song or a dance is dependent on the social context" (Womack 226). Music and instruments are of great significance in many places world wide. For example, the BaMbuti foragers from Africa's Ituri rain forest have an instrument which they call the molimo which looks like an extremely long pipe. The men of the BaMbuti
For ten years of my military career, I was stationed at the same Air Force base in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. I had originally joined the military to see the world and meet new people. However, I did not get the opportunity to do so for a long time. I worked with the same people day in and day out and never really got to experience different cultures. Not being able to have those experiences changed two years ago when I received orders to do a Permanent Change of Station (PCS) to Geilenkirchen Air Base, Germany to work for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
The rush and bombardment of anticipation and the urge to rebirth and strengthen the colorful culture of the Philippines. Work, work. Please and appeal. Sit still and look pretty for me please. The fear of inaccuracy and miscalculation because disappointment and distaste does not fit the exquisite and alluring faces of my parents. This overwhelming entity should not be the catalyst to my desires, my parent’s expectations, and the world’s binding decree, but it was obligatory, unavoidable, to formulate and forge the almost perfect “me” that everyone wants to visualize and observe.
Conspiracy has been deeply rooted into American culture since before the Constitution. Many Americans still believe that there are secret societies of the elite that exert great influence in not just the American government, but events on an international scale as well. These conspiracy theories appeal to a populist perspective, one that says that there are people much more powerful than the average American and they are knowingly infringing on American liberties, with the goal to either control or harm the country. These supposed conspiracy groups are well known because they have become engrained in America’s culture for hundreds of years; elite groups such as the Illuminati and the Freemasons are known for stirring political anxiety in the early years of the American Republic. Some of this anxiety would be justified early on, but much of it would later prove to be hysteria and paranoia. As those Masonic groups would die down in relevance as the years went on, the paranoia that they created in conspiracy theorist’s minds would be replaced by other branches of secret societies for the elite that were focused on wealth, political power, and globalist visions. Elite invite-only groups, such as the Bilderbergs, the Skull and Bones, and the Bohemian Club are all looked at by some conspiracy theorists as organizing a New World Order that is outside of the public’s eyes.
A previous study by Menon and Shweder detailed the “cultural expertise” of Oriyas regarding the icon of Kali, a goddess well-known in their culture. For Oriyas, the image of Kali biting her tongue represents “lajya”, or shame. However, their conception of shame may differ from typical western views of shame. What emerged from the interviews conducted in Menon and Shweder’s study was that shame seemed to be a respected duty of the women in the culture, and brought about social harmony. This idea seems to be reconcilable with Markus and Kitayama’s review of independent and interdependent cultures, if it is assumed that the Oriyas interviewed were from an interdependent culture. In an interdependent culture, the self is construed in relation to others; a self is thought of as complete only in a social context. Conversely, in independent cultures, which are typically western, the self is thought of as entirely separate from others, and is encouraged to strive for their own desires without thought to how their actions may affect others. That is not to say that those in independent cultures have no empathy for those around them, and neither is it true that those in interdependent cultures are unable to think for themselves. It is simply a construal of the self in relation to others, and as Markus and Kitayama showed, this leads to several different ways of interacting with the world when a person originates from an independent or an interdependent culture.
According to the famous American anthropologist Ralph Linton, “The culture of a society is the way of life of its members; the collection of ideas and habits which they learn, share and transmit from generation to generation.”
It is interesting that Raymond Williams creates a division between high class culture and lower class culture, suggesting that culture is ordinary, shared and common. If this is the case why does he emphasise a division in light of this concept? And if we all share a common culture can there be a division?
