The man who eliminated many tough ways of life for citizens in South Africa was not only an influential human activist, he was also a South African role model and more specifically a freedom fighter. Nelson Mandela taught his supporters to toss their weapons and face the enemies straight through peaceful demonstrations, and not through firing weapons or killing innocent lives. Nelson Mandela forever changed the way of politics by abolishing apartheid in South Africa. Without his continues struggle, it’s highly likely to believe that even today black South Africans wouldn't be free.
Nelson Mandela spent 27 years in jail, almost 3 decades in a small cell with no bed, and worked hard labor with nothing given to eat, which he sacrificed to unite Africa. Considering the heroic impact that he has had on the world after spending 27 YEARS in jail for opposing the apartheid, is mind blowing till this day. He sacrificed his family life and his personal for his people. Therefore, he will forever remain a hero and a great freedom fighter in our hearts. …show more content…

He discovered his son’s death through the newspaper and was not even allowed to attend his own eldest son’s funeral nor given details about the fatal crash. Just consider Nelson Mandela’s mental state, during this time and his emotional state from losing one of his loved ones. What would you feel if you lost a loved one and was not even allowed to see them for one last time; all sacrificed for the fight for your countries better future.
Mandela was a passionate man seeking equality for South African black citizens and would go surpass anything to achieve his vision. This is evident when he was given inhumane punishments for the slightest of offense; for example: he was buried into the ground in the cold soil up to his neck and was urinated on by the guards, all for standing up for his
