13 Reasons why is an immense popular show on Netflix that many teenagers and young adults have watched. The series displayed the struggles of teen Hannah Baker and how even her closest friends or parents seemed to notice. Consequently, in the end, not only Hannah but her friend Alex got hurt as well. So the question is what did he plan to do with them? Was he planning to have a school shooting or maybe someone in particular such as Alex. In the article “Let’s Talk About the Alex Cliffhanger,” one theory suggests that Tyler shoots Alex as part of his revenge plan, which may be plausible. The article proposes that Tyler was not planning on going to school with his arsenal plans and attacking the entire school, but target people one by one. The second theory of article one suggests that Tyler helps Alex shoot himself. An idea that Tyler did influence Alex but did not actually pull the trigger himself. Why would Tyler help him commit suicide? The article express that perhaps Tyler was trying to help Alex end his suffering. For instance, Alex was having a difficult time coping with Hannah’s death and just wanted to put an end to it by ending his life. Additionally, Alex did assist Tyler in the hallway at school when he was getting bullied so that is another component that could be taken into consideration. The last theory in article one and also the shortest theory suggests that Alex in fact did commit suicide, which was an open and shut case. In effect, explains the reason for Tyler removing the photo of Alex in the final episode, hence he eliminated himself. Considering all the different theories that were presented, two out of the three suggest that Tyler was involved in 2 out
The search for connections between the cases leads to Tyler being questioned as a suspect, and Nic going on a mission to solve the cases. Tyler is suspected because he is dating Annaleise. He claims they broke up the night before she disappears, which heightens suspicions. He also ditches town after Annaleise goes missing. Nic thinks, “Tyler was starting to feel like a ghost, like if I blinked for too long, he might slip away for good” (Miranda 171). He is fleeing the investigation. By

There are critics of this novel that believe that it was more the things that Hannah did herself that inevitably led to her suicide opposed to the things that the other 13 people were “blamed” or “accused of” doing (Ewing 458-460) and in many ways it is clear that that could very possibly be the
Throughout the text Tyler shows how he has been thinking of death and how he might commit suicide. This can show some historical text because there have been many cases where teens have wanted to or, have committed suicide throughout our generation. In the text Tyler says “I’d back
Tyler is also the son of Elizabeth (Arthur’s second wife) and had to move to Israel with her because it was written as one of her custody in their divorce papers. He was 8 when he heard that his father passed away and fled away from the country due to flu spreading vast fully throughout the world. 20yrs passes by and now he is known as the Prophet, the most feared person throughout the city, with a society of people who worship him because he is chosen by god. In chapter 53, we go back into the past 15mins before the play was about to start, Arthurs calls Tyler who’s angry at him because he attend his birthday but, they conversed over how great the comic book Station Eleven, not knowing that this would be their last discussion. This proves my thesis because it shows how Arthur didn’t really give/have enough time being with his son. Since he grew up without a father teaching him what’s right from wrong, Tyler became the fearful Prophet that ended up getting shot in the head by one of his believers. So in other words Arthur’s actions affected future events to become as what they are by making bad life choices that harmed Tyler’s path of life. If Arthur ending up as a loyal husband & father none of this would have

Throughout the movie though it seems that everything that Tyler did, he (Edward) did as well. Like everything was always was done together. Christina said she was sitting in her bedroom watching TV. So she got up to see who it was. The driver of the car got out and asked for Tyler. She said she doesn’t like a whole lot of people in her house, so she walked through the house to the back where Tyler was and told him someone was out front to see him. Christina said Tyler went up front and asked the guy what he wanted. Christina said she went back inside and about 10 to 20 minutes later she heard a gunshot. Christina went and looked outside and the cars were speeding off. She said she confronted Tyler about what just took place and at first he wouldn’t respond to her. She said she asked him again and he said those guys just tried to shoot at him. Then a short while later Tyler and Blake
Tyler uses this to his advantage by quoting The Bible to gain the trust and hope of his followers. Secondly, Tyler also uses fear and bandwagoning to build support his leadership. In the book, no one is aloud to leave the town that he has set up. “When people leave without permission, we have funerals for them … if we’ve already had a funeral” (page 63). When a boy runs away from the prophets compound he explains to the symphony why he has done so.
Tyler had a whole life ahead of him but due to him, being laughed at constantly throughout school and online websites such as twitter, Facebook he couldn’t handle it anymore and took the decision to Jump off the George Washington bridge which ended his journey there. His two roommates are facing serious charges for invasion of privacy also because of Tyler’s sexual orientation charges can be implied up to 5 to 10 years in prison. On Tyler’s case it has brought a lot of tension and anger towards media that tougher charges like manslaughter should be implied towards the two
In today’s society, suicide in teenagers and young adults have increased dramatically over the past decades. Those who have attempted or committed suicide have reported of having some kind of mental disorder and most are depressed. Jay Asher’s popular teen novel, 13 Reasons why, tells the story about a teenage girls struggles in school and life and why she decided to end her life. Shakespeare’s tragic play “Hamlet” tells the story of love, revenge and death.
His second epiphany occurs when he shoots Tyler, and thus himself. On the first level, the narrator acknowledges his death instincts by confronting his fear of pain and death. He accepts Tyler’s ideas of experiencing death so as to be fully conscious of his physical existence. When he shoots Tyler, he does so with the awareness that he is shooting himself. This is the final step he needs to take in order to be fully aware of what he is. On the second level, by rejecting Tyler’s nihilistic ideas of destroying institutions and value systems, he chooses what values to stand for and thus creates his own purpose for himself. “In choosing his ethics, Man makes himself.” He also translates the belief in these values into the actual action of shooting Tyler, thus defining his existence through actual action. On the third level, by shooting Tyler, he assumes responsibility for all of Man, not just himself. He assumes responsibility for Man because he invents what Man should be: one who does not act in an uncaring and destructive manner towards others. On the fourth level, shooting Tyler allows the narrator to be defined in a way he wishes to be defined in the eyes of the “other”. Shooting Tyler is crucial towards removing the existence of Project Mayhem. He does not want Marla to find out about Project Mayhem because he will then lose his connections with her. It is important to the narrator to have a
Initially, the narrator is finding an outlet for the daily pressure and to improve insomnia, and Tyler Durden to him represents this authority-figure who could make everything possible for him and someone who has everything under control. Overtime, the narrator’s reliance on Tyler Durden has only grown stronger. Therefore, it is during the sudden disappearance of Tyler Durden that the narrator is able to get a clear picture of the chaos and disaster they have caused. Together with the narrator, Tyler Durden has created Project Mayhem, a countrywide criminal organization, which prompts anti-consumerism through carrying out vandalism, making mischief, and attempting to reform others through violence. The narrator has lost his job, his boss is dead, police are looking for him, and now Tyler Durden is pushing a gun in his mouth while waiting for the financial centers to blow up. To the narrator, the biggest disaster isn’t the destruction that they have done, but rather, it is the internal conflict with the other personality, Tyler Durden. Therefore, with nothing to lose, he pulls the trigger and shoots himself, with the intention to kill Tyler, to bring an end to this chaos and disaster. “’It’s only after you’ve lost everything,’ Tyler says, ‘that you’re free to do
