Introduction. I decided to step out of the box and choose a topic that most people wouldn’t think of. Instead of focusing on compensation as a whole I wanted to look at a company. When you look for a company to work for you, look for key ethical processes that will attract you to the company. Besides receiving a steady paycheck the company should hold pride in being able to provide a set of benefits that surpass the minimum standards set by the government. New Belgium Brewing Company encompasses all of the sought after practices and values that that makes a company great to work for. Folly is an English word that has an amalgam of definitions. In the New Belgium Beer’s context of “folly,” I believe it is used in playful sorts. While Merriam Webster’s initial definition of folly is the lack of good sense or judement, a foolish act or idea (Folly, n.d.), folly actually reminds me once of a sermon I heard. Reverend Dana Worsnop, spoke positively of folly in a sermon titled “following your folly.” Reverend Worsnop discusses you have to follow your folly, in terms of knowing we as individuals can not control everything, life can be tough, and so sometimes we have to turn things on their head a bit; furthermore, taking an event or something serious or painful and lightening it up (2013, p.2). Basically Reverend Worsnop advises

This decision was based upon the desire to preserve its core production strengths through close family control. However, as the company desires to expand its market presence beyond the

New Belgium Brewing try to reduce its negative impact from the natural environment. New Belgium Brewing (NBB) invest in a wind turbine, making it the first fully wind powered brewery in the United States. NBB has also invested a mist condenser that helps to reuses of hot water used for boiling barley and hops to create the after that brew. This steam also helps to heat the floor tiles and de-ice the room in during winter. NBB has also many other energy saving processes like use of daylight. I think that the company has chosen to focus on the environment because of the type of their business is unethical. From my view point its master product Tobacco and Brew both r harmful for society and environment. I think it just a way of advertising. We know Prevention is better than cure. SoI think it’s better to do something for environment without doing harmful activities

NBB is asked to enlarge their business from other states. To do that, they should build another factory with facilities helping reduce negative impact on environment. NBB could be uncomfortable with that because it would cost a lot. So NBB should have to build less energy efficient facilities than now.
Prior to this course I did not have such a clear perspective on how much of an investment a company makes when offering great benefit packages to it’s employees. It has honestly made me feel very grateful for the company that I work for. It is important to have a balance on the compensation packages that get offered to candidates, as it can set the bar for many other employees and can ultimately hurt the company financially. The class also allowed me to gain perspective on the ripple effects that raising minimum wage can have. How it can not only impact the company but the amount of job

Belgium is home of the finest ales and have been known to brew for centuries. So when Jeff Lebesch, an electrical engineer from Fort Collins, Colorado took a bicycle trip through Belgium it made him realize there may be a market back home to sell Belgian-style ale. Jeff returned home with hopes to experiment and brew his own beer in his basement from the various ingredients he received on his trip. When his friends approved of the ales he started marketing them to the local town. He later opened New Belgium Brewing Company in 1991. His wife, Kim Jordan was the company’s marketing director. SAS seems to be playing with the employees' psychologically. The fact that they are building an adequate environment for the employees to work in "healthy" working conditions emphasizes the company's welfare which also influences on the employees' well being. On this video we can clearly see that the CEO's major concern is to take care of his employees. The employees have many profitable benefits and many advantages, which are entirely provided by SAS. For example, flexible hours, full healthcare coverage, a masseuse, the construction of many expensive infrastructures such as soccer fields, basketball courts, swimming pools etc... In my opinion the three most useful policies are the flexible hours, the fitness center and also the full healthcare coverage. First of all, healthcare is a major criteria which can't be denied due to its expensive cost. However, SAS full healthcare benefits for employees and their partner/family. These conditions provides a stable and safe future to the employee's life. The flexibility is a major perk for the employees' life conditions, for example, if an employee has health
