A CLASSICAL EDUCATION FOR THE MODERN WORLD NOBLESSE INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL WEEKLY NEWSLETTER FROM THE HEADMASTER Special thanks to our parents, students, and staff for the many activities enjoyed before Christmas, including the Christmas Concert, EYElementary Christmas Party, and Middle-High School Christmas Party. In addition, our Student Council and Community Service Club organized a Christmas Party for the students of the Sitio-Monicayo School (where our students have been volunteering since November). All of these activities provide opportunities for us to “build community” and strengthen our ties with each other. We look forward to more of these activities in the New Year. Our school has and will continue to have many great achievers and leaders! We have been filled with a great amount of knowledge and potential. Separately we can move a rock but together we can move mountains. We all did our best and gave outstanding accomplishments to this school. Nevertheless, whether our involvement was by trophies, by knowledge, or even just being a
On April 26, 2017 I was made eighth grade secretary. Last year Mrs. Trimble, our advisor, just had us in her advisory. Thirty minutes a week to organize immense school functions for a little over one-thousand students wasn’t enough time, imagine that. This year we have student council as an elective class, so we are allowed more time to do what we need to. This is extremely nice because we have a lot to do as a board. Student council positions in high school can open up opportunities to apply for scholarships and prepare you for future jobs. Soon enough, I’ll start thinking about those possibilities, but all the worry is worth
The central focus and purpose of teaching this learning segment is to educate students about other holidays and cultures, but specifically focusing on Christmas in Italy. While this unit is essentially literacy based, it is also linked to Social Studies when students use a variety of intellectual skills to demonstrate their understanding of themes, traditions, and stories in different countries. This unit supports diversity within the classroom and it will expose students to the different ways of celebrating holidays among various cultures. The essential literacy strategy used throughout this unit is to analyze, explain, and describe the similarities and differences between Christmas in Italy and Christmas in their own home in the United States. The students are required to examine the way Christmas is celebrated in Italy in a variety of different ways, through both teacher directed guidance and student centered learning.]
Did you know that the list of all meetings are on the McKeel site, under the extracurricular tab, NHS?
This year, I am the head of the Regesh committee; I plan and run activities in honor of Rosh Chodesh, Yom Tov, and other special days. These school-wide activities are infused with a spirit of achdut. The atmosphere makes everyone feel included and it brings about a feeling of unity that leads to
First of all, I would like to thank you for taking me into consideration as a nominee for the National Honor Society of Coolidge High School
Thank you for the opportunity to be a part of the Middle School Student Council.
I would like to share missed class attendance by Autumn LaMadrid, Amber Brooks, Jimia Horns, and Natalie Sgro.
In the spring of 2014, I had decided to run in the election for student council. To my surprise, I was nominated as sophomore class treasurer and secretary.
Furthermore, I do not regret a single part of this year, and even parts of eighth grade I was dreading, such as the National History Day project, turned out to be wonderful learning experiences that I genuinely enjoyed participating in. Thank you, teachers for continuing to find ways to encourage our further learning. Thank you, fellow classmates for helping me and making me smile. Thank you, Mrs. Arzola, Mrs. Chung, and all of the South Pointe staff for investing in so many new programs. And finally, thank you to the whole South Pointe community for supporting each other as we all continued to grow together and find out what our true passions are. I am both excited and extremely nervous for my journey into high school, and I can only hope to find another school as great as this one, that will continue to shape our lives just as South Pointe has. So, as we exit the grounds today and move onto high school, I can’t help but think that we will all reconvene here when our children will have the privilege of walking in our
Since time immemorial, women have undergone massive discrimination, prejudices, and gender-restrictive norms established by patriarchal society. In modern history, these restrictions include limited access to education, unequal remuneration placements and limited job advancement. In nineteenth century, however, women had to struggle with different type of discrimination. Particularly, they had no freedom because everything in their life was controlled by men. Such agenda was supported by marriage laws, which basically stated that husband owned his wife. Divorces or runs away from miserable marriages were unacceptable and punished by the society as well as the law.
Many teens, in the United States take advantage of Christmas such as myself. On Friday, December 9th of 2016, I went to the DHR in Geneva, Alabama to wrap Christmas gifts for children in the foster care system. My parents also told me that there are kids that didn’t get anything for Christmas now I know what they meant.
The competition is a winter/spring season and runs through December 1st to state championship in May. Three district meets is held in January, February, March and April of 2016 and meets will only last for three days.
From planning the first homecoming events for the class of 2019 to organizing the infamous Freshman Lock-Out, I have been a valuable asset to the success of many class events this year. From the moment I was elected as your class secretary, I was ecstatic that I would get to work with my fellow council members in order to provide my peers the best freshman year possible. By organizing our very first bake sale (and raising $202.72!!) to sorting through more than 250 student’s forms (so that everyone could attend Lock-Out), I have dedicated the majority of my free-time to ensure activities were prepared to the best of my ability. Several activities throughout the year such as our Winter Spirit Week, the winter spirit pack, and Freshman Lock-Out
I would also like to express gratitude for the teachers, leaders, and faculty as well. They have all been so caring and generous with their time and so I thank you for taking the time to read this,
