Noah Youklis’s Suitcase
Hey there I am Noah Youklis. I am a nerd who was called to A.S.D or Academy of Scholastic Distinction, or nerd school. I am starting a new here and would love to start the school year nice and smooth. I am going to make sure I start this year with a great start! I will pack some essential things I need for everyday purposes in school.
One of the most important things you need to bring to school is a pencil. A lot of times kids forget to bring pencils. They ask me or other organized kids to borrow a pencil. I used to do this last year, but now I am going to be organized and bring my very own pencil! I used to not be able to do math in school. There was a rule against pens in math. This is why I am packing a pencil for

I am going to need this if I want to do good in school this year, and not get an A+ because I got a really high score on one IQ test. A positive attitude will let me work hard and accomplish some every good things this new year at school! If I have a positive attitude, my mom says it will show up in my work. She said she means that it will be good work and the teachers and she would be very proud of me.
Another something I should bring to school, which I have been lacking for years is patience. Patience is very important to bring to school so you can take your time and not rush on projects like I have been doing for the past few years. Rushing projects means you don’t put much effort into. You have to have the patience to do it well and good. I need patience so I can put all the my effort into a project or assignments.
One last thing I would need to bring with me to is perseverance. This is a very important thing to bring because it helps us not give up on things. We don’t want to give up on big projects or on tough problems because there is always a way to solve the problem. I need to work hard and not give up on projects exactly like last year. I hope bringing perseverance and everything else will help me do well this year in
How would you feel if one day you were taken away from the only family you had left, then you were bounced around from one foster home to another? Well that’s how it was for a young child named Anne and her two siblings. Based on a true story The Suitcases, written by Anne Hall Whitt took place in North Carolina. Anne and her two sisters were taken away from their father and were sent to many foster homes. Wherever the girls went they always thought of their father, because they’re family. In The Suitcases, Anne Hall Whitt uses atmosphere and conflict to explain Anne’s relationship with her family.
Many people on a daily basis think about all the things they are dealing with, but when asked what it is that goes through the mind of someone who is dealing with a lot what comes to mind? What are the responses? Would their mind go blank?
Some of the goals this year is to get good grades on most of the subjects. What I will do to accomplish that is I will listen in class and study for more than one day. Something I’ve done right I want to continue doing is to read a lot of books and writing excellent essays. I also want to do better in Social Studies. I will do this by studying history facts every week.
Another important thing is organization so you don’t lose things and keep important things in the places that they belong. I’ve learned that the hard way! I have spent a lot of time doing homework assignments, then misplaced them and was unable to turn them in. I also didn’t get 100% on my science binder since I couldn’t find some of my assignments and notes. I had a good talk with Mrs. Merolo and Fray about being organized. Mrs. Merolo helped me by giving me a folder where I could put my homework “to do” on one side and things to “turn in” on the other side. Fray taught me how to organize my assignments, quizzes, tests, bell work and notes in my binder, which has helped me to find my things when I need to study for quizzes and tests. I think I will be able to get better grades after this.
One thing I’ve learned that really hurt me was that I tended to procrastinate and it wasn’t until late senior year until I noticed how bad it hurt me. Another thing I learned was to read the directions very carefully. When a teacher assigns you work they expect you to do it to their standards and to do that you have to read
strength and I will succeed this year if I am in the right place. I have learned I can succeed even if everything isn't the way as I planned it out to be. And with this courage, I will finish 6th grade.
Jonathan Lam carried carried his backpack and all of his supplies throughout the school day. He had pretty standard equipment: a Swiss Army backpack, a digital watch by Swatch, a Pilot G-2 pen, and an orange notebook cram-packed with school papers in between the pages that had not been ripped out.
In the essay, “Personal Belongings” by Kimi foxon Hemingway, my prospective of the abortion process was influenced by her story. This story was informative in which it focused on one type of abortion and its after effect. After reading, I was able to understand the process of pill’s related abortion. I was informed about the pill RU-486 and its history in the USA and France. Most importantly, I learned about the pain associated with this pill which was described as “Natural” abortion. If I were her, I would have chosen the surgery over the pills. Even though the process of surgical abortion might not involve a higher percentage of safety, at that time, I would have picked it. Since I would have been monitored. However, I she was able to take the right decision by telling others about her abortion specially her neighbor. One of the important words that was mentioned in this story is “Privacy” and its associate with secrecy of the abortion process. This explains why most women decide to pick a certain rout and keep her abortion process as a secret. It is due to the fear of others.
First, one of many things I did well last semester was keeping my grades looking amazing. I was committed, I was inventive. Another thing I did well was putting effort in my class like for example: math, english, history, and chemistry. I always payed attention. I was motivated. Participating in discussions was one of the better things I did last semester like giving presentations. Respecting others and
Sophomore year is going to get tougher as you go on, but there will be many room to have fun, like the assemblies. Dont give in to video games, like last year. I will not play League of Legends or any other games until I finish my homework and studies. My days of being a procrastinator master is over. Remember back when you stayed up till 3:00 studying or doing a project at the last minute. Doing everything the day they are assigned makes your life more stress free. I wouldn’t be tired and have a mood swing while doing my homework, and then sleep for a few hours, and waking up feeling like poo.
In my school, ROWVA Central Elementary, we have a problem of losing our things in our desks. Since we can’t find things in our desks, then a various number of people end up getting late homework and either you have to redo the assignment or earn a zero on it. When you gain zeroes, then your grade immediately goes down and you have to work to get it back up. One solution for this problem is we Another solution is that we could keep our desk organized and remember to keep all the same subject together so we don’t have to dig around in our desks to find what we need. Also, maybe there could be one day where everyone cleans out their desks and takes home any graded papers that they had kept in their folders. We could have everyone make
Everyone has something that makes them someone. Without that special thing we would be no one. These things are what make you, who you are. These things can be physical or emotional or just an idea. These things are what you carry with you through your life. I carry my respect for solitude.
Blood rushed to my face. It was a terrible feeling. My knees went weak and my chest was heaving, but I couldn’t breath. I worked day and night for the six long years to just get a taste of success, a glimpse of my potential. But I couldn’t do it; I knew I would never have it in me. I walked down the final stretch of holes with the golf tournament practically in my hands. Cameras were focused, crowds cheered, rain dripped from my cap. The overcast brought back memories of my junior tournaments in Hong Kong. I hated those years. It seemed as if the rain made was my weakness. That day, I had millions of dollars on the line. More than that, I had all my loved ones on the line. I carried all they have sacrificed
have good homework and study habits, and to always do my best. I try to learn for myself, so
Upon reviewing the “Best Strategies for success in school” I realize that I now apply many ideas I use to ignore to my school approach such as getting to know my instructors, breaking down projects into more manageable tasks to avoid procrastination, and staying healthy. All the strategies listed are important but the three key strategies that will remain with me the longest throughout my academic career will be to getting help with difficult class work early, keeping most
