UNC Charlotte has made a significant impact on my undergraduate career because this campus has an abundance of resources, a helpful staff, a diverse atmosphere, and plenty of opportunities for campus involvement. This university has a variety of staff, all of which have been helpful in my college experience. They are excellent about working with students so they can gain the most out of their educational experience. For example, when I have sought out more information on which portion of Spain to go to, so that I may improve my Spanish fluency, my professor was extremely helpful. She sat down with me and explained about what it is like living in Spain, tips for where to go, and what to expect from the different regions. This valuable information
Including my spiritual experience at CBU, I will be able to understand my religion more. Including, that all the staff members being 100% Christian, I could ask a question that I may have and the could help me find an answer. Having to attend the school's chapel I know that I can get closer to God and understand his word, and be able to follow in his footsteps that will help me grow as an adult. With this spiritual growth from attending CBU, will be vast and helpful with me growing into a mature and responsible
I have lived in North Carolina for almost fifteen years now. Throughout this period I have seen the abundance of opportunities here in North Carolina especially in education. There are countless numbers of great colleges and universities, however, since I have lived in the mundane city of Greensboro I feel constricted in my environment. Wilmington, being close to the sandy beaches of Wrightsville beach and home to a great university has led me to consider moving east. UNC Wilmington, being the state’s coastal university reflects the values of numerous things such as ethics, integrity, and diversity. These values, as listed in the mission statement, demonstrate how UNC Wilmington aims to excell an individual through a great variety of baccalaureate,
The majority of the students that come to RCC will want to transfer to four year college. I am one of the majority that wants to transfer. So the college will help many students achieve that goal. The college offers students a large choice of classes and degrees. For example, they now offer poultry science, band, and a few more computer courses. I love knowing that my local community college has a wide variety of classes for all different kinds of people.
The mission statement at UNC Wilmington states that they are committed to student engagement, creative inquiry, critical thinking, thoughtful expression and resposible citizenship. These qualities are things that every student should look for when the big deciosion of where to go to college comes up. College is a big stepping stone for students, it shouldnt be about where all your friends are going, or where the parties are gonna be. The education and enviorment you are wanting to be in is what matters. I have dreams and aspirations of becoming a nurse, getting a BSN degree. UNCW has factors that stand out against any other school. Job prospects and salary are high, this means that when I leave UNCW I wont have to worry about whether or not
Some major accommodations that I observed were the sensory room and sensory activities. In the back of the room, there was a box of either rice or corn that the students could scoop and push around. Students would go back there if they were feeling anxious or restless. This was a way to calm the student and to get them back into focus to continue their work. The sensory room was a small room in the kitchen area that was filled with objects for the student to interact with. The girl I mentioned earlier stayed in this room most of the time that I was there. Objects like a punching bag and a hammock-like swing were part of the room. I am guessing that this room serves a similar purpose to that of the box in the back of the room, but perhaps more for the severely impaired
Throughout our state and our nation, there are a variety of options when it comes to higher education. In the state of North Carolina, one of the many community colleges is Fayetteville Technical Community College, also referred to as FTCC. One of the many universities in our state is the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, which is also called UNC-Chapel Hill. I chose these two institutions because they are two of the places I am looking at to get my various degrees. When looking at these two places of education, we can see that there are many similarities, but there are also differences.
The University of North Carolina Wilmington gives a welcoming and home-like feeling to all who attend. Once I step foot on campus, it reminds me of the privilege I have of staying home. It has always been the college I've wanted to attend. The small and diverse community is what keeps me here in Wilmington, North Carolina and UNCW fulfills my dreams of not leaving. I find the mixture of races and gender to be essential in a community or school. It defines a person including their culture and allows everyone to be different from one another. It proves that we can all get along and work together to create greater changes as a whole; UNCW has that variety. However, not only does the diverse environment attract me, but so does the beautiful campus.
I am grateful because that lead me to North Carolina Central University. From my time here, I have grown immensely. Being a student at NCCU is the best thing that ever happened to me. I enjoy debating, fine dining, and shopping. One of the greatest experiences I had at NCCU is an etiquette class.
The diversity and location of NC State is what draws me to this University. From the first moment I stepped onto the campus, to the tours and talking to current students, I felt the excitement of the campus. NC State is a rich community that is strong because of the variety of classes, teachers, students, and activities, and for the array of perspectives and experiences. From attending a small school in a small town, then transitioning to a larger high school, this feels like a natural next step.
At some of the colleges you will find people who come from similar backgrounds and circumstances and who have had simular cultural experinces. The professors will be there to help nurture and guide you throughout your college education. Lastly , a major advantage is the cost of tuition at HBCUs is much cheaper than other universities. Historically Black Colleges are starting to have more white students than blacks in the schools.
College is a big part of life, there are many colleges to choose from. Everyone wants to go to the best college. Everyone wants to go to college that offers a bit of everything. Sometimes the best colleges are in plain sight, take Vance Granville Community College for example. Let’s talk three examples that make it the best college, cost, location, and return on investment.
In this article “Four Questions to Ask on a Campus Tour.” (Fox Business, 9/13/2013.) (Driscoll) Emily Driscoll explains that visiting a college can be a crucial step in the process of selecting where to attend, but also asking the right questions is very important. The first question to ask is, “What is a typical class like?” Second, students should ask, “What academic-career resources are available?” Third, ask "What is it like to live on campus?” Fourth, “Why did you choose this college?” Therefore, students considering attending Camden County College should consider taking a tour of the main campus, and should focus on Roosevelt, Taft, and Jefferson Hall.
The College fosters professional development by offering a plethora of face-to-face and online diversity, civility, sexual harassment and Title IX training opportunities for administration, faculty, staff and students.
The first reason for attending a community college is enhanced academic quality. In fact, nowadays community colleges have greatly raised academic standards with the intent of suiting all the students’ needs. In fact, if someone is serious with understanding what is offered in community colleges nowadays, there is no doubt that one leaves the institution with the required skills for approaching life.
