My practicum setting will be an associate degree nursing program, Joliet Junior College (JJC), one of the oldest community colleges in Illinois. The mission of the school is focused on offering students an affordable, accessible valued education for a lifelong profession in nursing, and to serve the community (Joliet Junior College [JJC], n. d.). Accordingly, the school’s philosophy is based on preparing students to be exceptional providers in the growing healthcare system, providing safe and high quality care (JJC, n. d.). The foundation of the JJC nursing program is based on four major principles: client, environment, health and nursing (JJC, n.d), while their conceptual framework is grounded in the fundamental structure of three major theories which forms the basis of the concepts, skills, and principles of the nursing practice (JJC, n. d.). The three major theories are: Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, Levels of Prevention and the Nursing Process (JJC, n.d.). Joliet Junior College nursing school offers a competitive program and combines the traditional classroom experiences, in-class high-fidelity simulations labs, online augmentation theory lectures, and clinical experiences in health facilities throughout the community (Joliet Junior College [JJC], 2016).
Each study analysis will be 1,000-1,250 words and submitted in one document. As with the assignments in Topics 1-3, this should connect to your identified practice problem of interest.

The nursing field is not my future career, but is my current career as of July 21st 2015. Although, this is a milestone that I have already achieved, the field of nursing is complex. The difficulties that one faces in the beginning of this career, in my opinion, are some of the same difficulties that one will face throughout their entire career as a nurse, even when one “climbs the latter”. Looking through the list of problems that could present in the nursing field, there are a few that I consider to be detrimental to this day. There are staffing shortages (not just of nurses), high turnover rates of RN’s, occupational injuries and infections amongst staff, and lack of skilled RN’s (or in general, a lack of people becoming RN’s).
But the issue is the current need for a more educated nursing force. How will the nursing community improve patient care and increase the level of education of its workforce while still accepting multiple educational access point?
Nursing students must surpass most of the key challenges that they may encounter in able to be successful nurses. Nurses should possess qualities related to caring because being efficient and good in theoretical studies may not be enough. Upon finishing the course, majority of the newly graduate nurse apply in a healthcare facility wherein there is a period of time in which a nurse who is starting in a new job is tested to see if that person is able to do the job properly. Distinctive challenges might come up from the time of job searching to job interview till the time they will be hired to any workplace related to their course. This essay will deliberate the challenges that I may encounter in the future and the ways how can I overcome
I am also aiming to develop personal skills in helping the clients to re-entry community and try to balance their symptoms. In addition, link the client with community resources, that I need to search for.
The nursing profession has experienced several challenges and emerging issues in the recent past that have significant impacts on the health and wellbeing of the society. Some of the major challenges facing this field include nurses' commitment to their work, their etiquette while working, shortage of nurses, meeting patients' expectations, and their dedication to their profession and patients. While there have been numerous attempts to address these issues, the nursing field has proven to be difficult in completely adopting the changes suggested in every stage. The major challenge for this profession that necessitates the need for urgent measures to deal with is shortage of nurses, which continues to increase from a national and global level. Therefore, there is an increased need to address the evolving challenge through developing an appropriate project and measures.
Describe how you will address this gap in nursing practice with your preceptor. Write out exactly what you might say to this RN to professionally address the current evidence for the nursing care of patients. Include when and where you would communicate this information.
