The setting is Washington Elementary School in West Orange, NJ. The grade I picked is first grade. The age group in the class is between the ages of five and seven. The subjects they learn are math, language arts, social studies, and writing. But they focus more on reading and math throughout the day. There are 8 girls and 8 boys in the classroom which makes 16 students in total. The class is divided into three racial and ethnic groups which are Latino or Hispanic, African Americans, and Asian American. There are about 1 Asian American, 6 Latino or Hispanic, and 9 African Americans.
The classroom is made up of general education. There are about three students who leave the classroom to go to speech. The makeup of the classroom is different
2a. Habituation is when the response to a certain stimuli decrease when it becomes frequent. For example, when I first moved into my apartment I would always hear the train at nighttime and it would keep me up or wake me up when it would start passing by. After a month or so, my body stopped responding to the train blowing its horn when it would pass. It is an appropriate example because after I became habituated to the sound, I started getting more sleep and more sleep meant a restful night to recharge for the next day.
In the first portion of this assignment I read about what makes an internet site believable and factual. Many of the sites that I had looked at didn’t have solid documentation to click on. The links to the sources were almost all non existent. The two sites about aides had me thinking about who got the information and for what reason did they put it onto their site. A very skeptical fact I saw on the first site was saying that “Approximately one in four people living with HIV infection in the United States are women.” My question is, where did that statistic come from? I looked at other sites and didn’t see that HIV was specific to only women, but instead it was many people that live in the world don’t even know they have the disease. After doing more research on the page I saw information of stating why they were doing the study, and they are doing it as a charity for health departments that couldn’t make money.
The data have information from two courses taught during the 2014/15 academic years with a combined enrollment of 76 students. These courses have a similar structure in that they met on Monday, Wednesday and Friday for 10 weeks and they both require students to complete online quizzes prior to each class. In addition, the final grade of both courses is composed of operating grades, midterms, and final exams. That is, there will be more than one factor to affect the final grade in these courses. In order to protect students, all students are shown in the database as ID number instead of their real names.
I staffed the situation with Nikki and was referred to Minimum Standards, which states the following:
You are correct and I agree with you. My middle daughter who is going into her JR year, received a bad grade. She came home upset and questioning the grade her teacher gave her. I read the paper she wrote and read it again just to make sure I understand what was written. The teacher had a few footnotes that stated she was plagiarizing. I asked my daughter where did she retrieve her information and she stated the internet, I asked her did she just copy and paste and she said yes. I had to explain to her that when your copying and pasting from any source besides your own and your not submitting a reference it is plagiarism. Oh course she gave me the look as though I was speaking a foreign language.
This is a 1st grade class made up of 12 first grade students. There are 7 Girls and 5 Boys. There is 1 male student with general academic IEP that covers all subjects as well as 1 male and 1 female student that have speech IEPs. The classroom is arranged in table seating with a large carpeted area in the front of the classroom for group learning. This lesson will be taught in a group setting at the carpet.
When I first started working on my concentration, I planned on exploring the relationship between people and technology. As the exam date was steadily approaching, I only had a couple of pieces completed, so time was of the essence. However, I was notified by my teacher that I wasn’t allowed to use two of the pieces I created because the school district deemed them ‘not appropriate for a high school level portfolio’ and she could get into trouble, or even fired, if I included them in my portfolio. As a student, I was conflicted because I loved the art that I created, but I also love my teacher and I would never want her to get into trouble because my actions. So, I decided to change my concentration with a week left before the exam date. Each
It was just a typical night on April 20th, 2015, that I was on my computer talking with my friend through Skype who gave me the idea to make an account on Skout because I was stil trying to get over the break up with Chris. And that's how it all started.... I was just scrolling down then I noticed a certain picture of someone that caught my attention. And it was YOU. I knew from the moment I saw your picture on Skout I know you were gonna be someone special in my life. I didn't know wether or not to message you first or wait and see if you were to ever message me first. But my friend told me to take the courage to send you a simple message to see if you would even message. The next day to my suprise to see that you had actually replied. You
1 score and 5 years ago I was asked to write a paper about today. Surprisingly I was spot on. Thanks to my family and all my teachers throughout my college years I am a successful Audio Engineer. I started off this journey 26 years ago in 2014 after being released from a prison program called Miami-Dade County Boot Camp. There I learned the discipline it takes to be successful at anything you want to do in your life.

Growing up in a small town has the advantage of being a close-knit community, unfortunately this also meant that exposure to foreign delicacies is not a common occurrence. As a child, I developed a strong dislike for any foods that I viewed as abnormal, and became quite a finicky eater. Thus, my familiarity with Italian food is somewhat limited to restaurant dishes, and recipes that friends exuberantly claim to be a crime if not made. While being a student in Victoria, I have had the opportunity to live in various different areas, some of which were next door to outdoor markets. Much like the markets described by Braimbridge et al.,(2005) in The Food of Italy, the bread was baked fresh daily, the produce fresh and locally
Amy Johnson just started first grade. She enjoys going to school because she gets to hang out with her little friends. She loves Ms. Kim, her teacher because she is very nice and lovely. One day Ms. Kim asked the children to get into groups so that can play a spelling game. When Amy was selected to spell “happy”, she completely forgot how to spell it. She was embarrassed. Ms. Kim believed she was just shy to talk in front of her classmates. The next day, Amy was told to read a three-word sentence, but she was not able to carry it out. Amy sometimes turned in her homework incomplete or late. Ms. Kim started to become concerned about Amy because she was showing learning developmental delays. Ms. Kim decided to contact the elementary school social
After a helpful talk with my advisor, I decided that real estate would be my second preferred major if I were not to make it into the marketing program at the Terry College of Business. Although the realm of work differs in many aspects between the two, I feel that the factors of communication and benefitting the buyer still have very similar qualities. I for one have little experience working in the specified field, but am currently learning the basics in REAL 4000 and it is beginning to interest me very much so. After enrolling in the class I told my step mother, a former agent of Caldwell-Banker, that I was taking the class while applying for real estate as my second intended major. She was ecstatic, and her excitement certainly began to
The organization and structure of a website could either add to the success of the website’s mission statement or it could take away from the overall success of the website. Aspects that could influence the website’s effectiveness include: appeal, range of offerings, accessibility, efficiency, and the website’s ease of use. On the website’s “About Us” page, the mission is stated: “Education World is a complete online resource that teachers, administrators and school staff can visit each day to find high-quality and in-depth original content. The school where I am doing my field experience is XY Elementary School. The school’s vision is used in an acronym with the word achieve. The letter C stands for community of, H is for high-performing, I is for individuals, E emphasizing the, V is for value of and E stand for education. Altogether, the phrase reads, “Community of high-performing individuals emphasizing the value of education”. XY is currently a Title 1 school. Title 1 means that the school gets financial assistance from the government since most students are from a low SES (socioeconomic status). Title 1 schools do not always get all the available resources that other schools have the luxury of having. Although, a student can learn without necessities like computers or textbooks these tools help students achieve and succeed in school. I got assigned to a kindergarten class with Mrs. B. Mrs. B has been teaching for 17 years. Thus, I am so happy and privileged to be working with her since I am learning so much and one day will apply what I learned into my classroom. Mrs. B has the classroom set up with bright colors and different centers appropriate for a kindergarten class. For example, her classroom library is enormous with different subject books and accompanied by a carpet for students to read on. There are currently sixteen students in the class. There are nine boys and six girls. However, during math two more students come in for math. Therefore, during math there are ten boys and seven girls. The two
