As a nurse we have the opportunity to heal the mind, soul, heart, and body of our patients, their families, and ourselves. This is a rewarding goal of mine everyday I walk into my job. My job as a nurse is to love people when it hurts, when it's awkward, when it's uncool, and embarrassing. Our job as nurses is to stand together and carry the burdens of one another to meet the needs of our patients. The ongoing journey of learning, honor, humility, and a chance to make the smallest difference in the lives of our patients, should be what a nurse strives for. I have the chance to impact the nursing field on so many levels, and that is what I plan to do.
My career goal is to work in a pediatric hospital like Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey
Nurses play a vital role in healthcare. They are the patient’s advocate and act as the patient’s “eyes and ears”. Pictured here, is Mark, a Registered Nurse working in the Schulich Heart Centre at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, preparing medications for his patients. Making sure the correct medication is administered at the right time is an integral part of a patient's recovery. On his unit, patients are primarily admitted under three services: cardiology, cardiac surgery, and vascular surgery. His ward in particular only has registered nurses as the patients are very acute and registered nurses have more education and training than a registered practical nurse. His daily activities include administering medications, tracking vital signs,
A career trajectory is a formalized plan for a successful transition into a career path that an individual has chosen. Likewise, the goal of nursing is to improve health through the advancement of knowledge therefore, improving the safety, effectiveness, and the access for healthcare. In combining these two definitions, a career trajectory in nursing advancement is to allow for clarity of direction and expected outcomes in a career by meeting the goals to advance in the healthcare field. In order to build a successful career as an advanced practitioner an individual must consider the requirements of the position and make strategic decisions in order to facilitate progression towards this goal (Feetham & Doering, 2015).
A professional career as a registered nurse can be very rewarding, but it entitles hard work and dedication. The main purpose of a registered nurse is to provide care, education, and support to their patients. Their responsibilities mainly depend on the type of file they work in. For example, an emergency nurses, labor and delivery nurses, and school nurses each have specific duties they need to perform in accordance to their job. Though, in general, Registered Nursing responsibilities are very similar.

I believe that it is my duty as a nurse to provide care for patients that exceeds their expectations. I want to make a difference in my patients lives and do everything I can to make a positive impact on their lives and the lives of their loved ones. I also want to act as an advocate for my patients, and make sure that they know I am hearing and understanding their thoughts and feelings. I will do my best to relay the information they share with me to the other members of the health care team which will hopefully increase the quality of care from not only myself, but from all of the other team members.

In my future career as a Registered Nurse I will use math in a number of ways. For example, giving the right amount in medication dosages or IV dosages. It is extremely important for a nurse to know how to convert, and calculate the amount needed.
Becoming a nurse has always been an aspiration of mine, I’ve always wanted a job that uses my caring nature and becoming a nurse seems like the perfect fit. Any job can be rewarding but working in the medical field where you can help save lives, make differences and be supportive at a person’s time of need is at the top of my list when I think of a rewarding career. I am choosing this course because I love learning new things and with a nursing career no day will be the same as the day before, so you will constantly be learning new skills, plus there are many different areas of nursing that you can go in to, so this will enable me to put my skills that I already have in to use but also learn completely new things.
Most people would not be able to handle such harshness from someone they met. But, if you're like me and want to become a nurse get use to it. I struggled with my career options. So you can imagine my face on my first day of Nurse Aide Training. Most people would have walked out that same day but to me her words only solidify my choice to stay.
I believe that I am prepared to face the challenges and demands of the nursing program at Sumner College. Nursing programs are intensive and demanding which require a lot of study time and good study skills, both of which I have. Nursing is my passion, so classes and clinicals will be a pleasure for me. I’m determined to do the very best that I can to meet and exceed the goals that I and Sumner College has set forth to be an RN student.
I chose to pursue a career in Nursing, because I’ve always been drawn to those in need. I want to provide care for my community as a way of giving back to humanity. I aspire to work within the community prolonging life, and promoting health through organized efforts and informed choices of society. My nursing philosophy is that nurses have a responsibility to the public to provide safe, holistic care.
Although I don’t have each detail planned yet, I know that I aspire to work somewhere I’m happy and positively impacting the lives of others. I think that doing good is far more important than earning a large salary. Math and science classes have always been some of my favorites, and I work well under pressure. This combination of attributes and passions I hold has pointed me to a career in nursing. Nurses are essential to healthcare and have career options everywhere in the world. In such a broad field, I could identify my interests and what I want to specialize in. While I haven’t decided on a specific area of nursing, I’d like to do anything emergency related.
The career I am going to enter is nursing. I would like to work with children in pediatrics. The school I have been accepted into is Oklahoma Christian University. This school has a great bachelors of science and nursing (BSN) program that I plan to complete. This school is in Edmonds Oklahoma and I have family in Edmonds and the town over. This is a great opportunity for me to see a lot of my family that I've never met. Oklahoma is my next 4 years and I'm excited to take this journey.
I have known for a long that my major in college would be nursing. I am hoping that I can help people recover from injuries and illnesses. A nurse's job is not just to examine the patient for complications or to help them regain their physical strength, but also to let them know they are not alone in their fight. Nurses are also teachers, they teach about medications, illnesses, coping strategies and so much more. Is is very difficult to put into word everything that a nurse does.
