Future Goals Although I don’t have each detail planned yet, I know that I aspire to work somewhere I’m happy and positively impacting the lives of others. I think that doing good is far more important than earning a large salary. Math and science classes have always been some of my favorites, and I work well under pressure. This combination of attributes and passions I hold has pointed me to a career in nursing. Nurses are essential to healthcare and have career options everywhere in the world. In such a broad field, I could identify my interests and what I want to specialize in. While I haven’t decided on a specific area of nursing, I’d like to do anything emergency related. While at Fort Hays State University, I plan to get my bachelor’s
I have many goals I would like to pursue in my adventurous journey to becoming a nurse practitioner. First, I will be entering the Traditional Nursing Program next fall. I'm very excited because this will give me a chance to start out by getting my RN (registered nurse) degree. This program is supposed to have rigorous classes and will have a lifelong term care. This degree will approximately take two years. As well as enrolling in the nursing program, I will be completing my AA Degree. I currently have sixteen credits from college credits from CIS (college in the school) credits. I currently am taking fifteen credits, so I only have to take twenty-nine more credits to graduate will my AA Degree.
My three goals for this course are as follows: to better understand the current legal and ethical climate of health care and specifically nursing, to be aware of that climate as I enter clinical, and to understand how I as a nurse can work to make the system more ethical. I chose these three goals, because they provide me with the opportunity to first learn about the current legal and ethical climate of nursing from an academic standpoint while examining how that knowledge translates to what I’m experiencing in clinical. My last goal is reflection-focused, and will allow me to take 5101 course content with me as I move forward as a professional nurse. I plan to accomplish these goals by being present in class preparation, lecture, and seminar,
Registered nurses work alongside physicians providing patient care in a variety of ways. A few examples of what nurses are responsible for include: administering medications, tracking patient’s vital signs, helping to diagnose and properly treat patient aliments and educating the patient and their family on their condition and the course of treatment. Depending on what area of medicine a nurse works in will determine more generalized and specific duties and responsibilities. There are many different areas a nurse may work in. Some areas include: obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, emergency room, and many more. Nurses can work in a variety of settings, these can include: hospitals, urgent cares, doctors office, nursing homes and home health.
I've very adaptive to new technology such as programs used for online documentation and electronic MARS. Other registered staff in my unit often comes to me for problem solving and troubleshooting with our online documentation program. I always put my patients first and I take the time to listen to my patients & families, no matter how busy my schedule may be. I work well under pressure and in a solo or team environment. I strive to become more knowledgeable in nursing in order to provide the best care I can to my clients In order to excel at my profession and passion I need to do everything I can to make myself better. As part of that, I did not stop with Bachelors, I did my masters, then I did Medical-surgical certification & I am also certified preceptor, have certification from UCF. My upbringing developed my core beliefs of community, family, loyalty, compassion and honesty. It also taught me that all things worthwhile require hard work. I love being a nurse, but recognize my yearning for more. I love nursing and have enjoyed my time as a floor nurse although my work experiences are acutely based, I have observed the direct relation between primary and acute care. As a nurse primarily working with patients, I have observed how patient miseducation, miscommunication, and
A career trajectory is a formalized plan for a successful transition into a career path that an individual has chosen. Likewise, the goal of nursing is to improve health through the advancement of knowledge therefore, improving the safety, effectiveness, and the access for healthcare. In combining these two definitions, a career trajectory in nursing advancement is to allow for clarity of direction and expected outcomes in a career by meeting the goals to advance in the healthcare field. In order to build a successful career as an advanced practitioner an individual must consider the requirements of the position and make strategic decisions in order to facilitate progression towards this goal (Feetham & Doering, 2015).
Nursing is a career which I believe that needs to come from the heart and I have at all times appreciated with respect. My aim in doing my education in nursing was because I always wanted to achieve an extended and successful profession in the health and medical field. I suppose the responsibilities of a nurse can be very demanding and frantic in certain instances but nothing can be equal to the joy and satisfaction it brings. There are many specialized areas in the field of nursing but I was particular interested in the mental health field. I have had a chance to experience mental healths nursing during one of my placements .There are a few goals which I would like to achieve within the next
I realized I wanted to be a nurse in 2010 when I was sitting by my grandfather as he was diagnosed with a stroke. As the physician explained to my family and I that the man we knew and loved would not be able to speak or walk again we were struck with heartache. The compassionate and holistic care that the nurses provided him solidified my determination to become a healer to patients who were not able to care for themselves. Today, I have the joy to work in an Emergency Department caring for acutely ill patients and their families, as they are vulnerable and grieving just as my family was. Nevertheless, I have come to realize that my journey will not end until I become more involved with patient care by earning a degree as a Nurse Practitioner. In this paper, I will discuss my educational and professional goals, short term and long-term goals, and how earning a Nurse
I am applying to the Walden M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program. I plan to practice as a licensed professional in counseling and Higher Education. I have always wanted to be a Clinical Mental Health Psychologist, working with individuals to help improve their mental and emotional health is something that I am committed to. Starting this program now is the best time because the information that I learned from my undergrad career would help me to be more successful in my grad career by learning more but at an advanced level. Once I receive my degree I plan to go back to school to get my doctorate degree in psychology, and utilize the skills that I have learned to open my own private practice that helps individuals who suffer with mental and emotional disabilities, within my practice I plan to let each individual patient talk about their issues and come up with a strategic plan for treatment. The personal qualities that I possess are having self-confidence and the ability to work and collaborate with others having the ability to be receptive to feedback while maintaining a positive attitude.
I am a nursing student. I have a great passion for caring for others. My short term goals are to graduate Riverland Community College with my Associate's Degree in Nursing this December. I plan to work very hard and prepare to take my nursing licensure exam at the beginning of next year to become licensed as a registered nurse. I will then transfer to Metropolitan State University to complete my Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
The Future of Nursing Goals will not only have an impact on healthcare but will have an impact on nursing itself. We are facing a future with increased patient loads and decreasing primary care physicians. Therefore, increasing the need for mid-levels and Nurse Practitioners. I think the future of nursing will necessitate that entry level nurses be BSN prepared with a commitment to lifelong continued education.
Becoming a nurse has always been an aspiration of mine, I’ve always wanted a job that uses my caring nature and becoming a nurse seems like the perfect fit. Any job can be rewarding but working in the medical field where you can help save lives, make differences and be supportive at a person’s time of need is at the top of my list when I think of a rewarding career. I am choosing this course because I love learning new things and with a nursing career no day will be the same as the day before, so you will constantly be learning new skills, plus there are many different areas of nursing that you can go in to, so this will enable me to put my skills that I already have in to use but also learn completely new things.
Before the age of eighteen, I had lived in three countries. My father’s career as a doctor and scientist of Military, Disaster & Extreme Medicine took my family throughout Kazakhstan, Russia, and the Ukraine. Although it was a challenge for me to continually adapt to new places and learn three languages, I am grateful for the cultural exposure that traveling provided me. In every new environment I was raised to treat others with equal respect and kindness regardless of any differences or similarities we may have had. This exposure has taught me that successful acclimation lies in the ability to interact well with people from diverse backgrounds. Here, in a country of immigrants, I have met people from countries all around the world. The Nursing field provides me the opportunity to help all people regardless of age, sex or ethnicity. I seek a Nursing degree here in the United States in order to increase my knowledge and to be able to practice in the field of professional nursing. My goal of becoming a Registered Nurse has long been encouraged by my personal interest in the profession and by my experience, previous education and achievements. These factors continue to motivate and inspire my desire to seek this degree and become a healthcare professional.
Education is important part of life and vital part to achieving my goal. My short term goal academically is to finish one class at a time. I want to embrace each class and the lessons more deeply rather than fixated on the goal of perfection. Having a set short term and long term goals illustrates a picture for my motivation to complete my educational objective. My goal is to finish one class at a time it is important for me because looking at a bigger picture the small goals will be the requirement of my long term goal of completing a college degree.
As a future registered nurse, I could proudly say that my values on giving care is very similar to VHA’s. I am client driven and continually focused on improvement. I have volunteered in a rehab facility at Baycrest Hospital where care is client-centered and continually changing to fit the best interest of the patients. I have been part of the Fall prevention team where we talk about ways to improve our care in order to prevent fall accidents and implement it in the unit. I collaborated with an interdisciplinary team of professionals which includes physical therapist, occupational therapist, staff nurses, educators and student nurses. I provide holistic care to my clients and commit to serve them with the best of my abilities. I am greatly
As a senior in high school, if I was asked what my plans were for the future, I would have had a definite answer. I wanted to attend Indiana University Bloomington and major in Nursing to eventually become a nurse practitioner. I truly thought that was what I wanted to do with my life. If I were told that I would be attending Hanover and no longer had any interest in nursing as a career, I would probably laugh. I was so sure that was what I wanted to do, but since then all my plans have changed. This first semester at Hanover has taught me that I had no idea what I wanted to do, but I now have more of an idea of where to go and what to do at this point in my college career.
